1. Idea Treatment: Steph Westerman
Theme: Young Boys Birthday Party.
This card will be all about young boys and their birthday party.
The kinds of food that we be included on our young boys party card will be nibble
food, so this will mean doing Chips, Quorn Nuggets, Quorn sausage rolls, and
vegetables, which is perfect for any young boys birthday party for them to get
involved with making with some guidance from the parent.
For this card I will need to make it bold and stand out from the others because it is
going to be for young boys, this will mean using bright and bold colours.
The colours that I will be using for this card are blue, and orange; this is because they
are bold and typical colours that represent boys and will make them fit to young boys
perfectly. This will also show the audience that the dish is for young boys before
looking at the card in detail.
The font for this text will be a fun bubble font that will look as if children have done it,
which will in turn make them feel more involved, this font will be called ‘Fanzine title’
from the online site Dafont.
This will show a playful side to the card, as it will be something fun for young children.
The font for the front of the card will either be orange or blue once the background
colour has been decided on.
The images on this card will be made up of a mixed media. One of the images will be a
high quality photograph of the dish and the back of the card will have some graphical
images of some of the ingredience included in making the food, although this might
not show as much professionalism it will still show the audience that the card is for
children.
This will give people an idea of what is in the food before seeing it and reading about
it.
The layout for this card will be landscape. So that there will be more room on the
front of the card.
On the back of the card the background will be blue and the font will still be the same
but in orange. We will also have a graphical image of something included in the recipe
on the back of the card. This will show a playful and child-like side to the card, which
will let the audience and children know that the card is for them.
The logo of the company that made the food will also be on the top right hand side of
the card so that people know whose recipe it is again.
The name of the recipe will also be along the top of the page and the amount the dish
serves along with prep time, making time, and cooking time.
The recipe will then be written directly down the middle in central alignment.
2. Audience:
The audience for this card will be young boys who are attending or hosting birthday
parties, this is shown by the use of colours and font on the card.
Another way that this is shown is by the graphical images of things on the back of the
card.
As I said before the target gender for this card is young boys.
Production Methods:
The image on the front of this card will be embossed, meaning it will stand out from
the rest of the card and look 3D, the part that will have this done to it is either the
title of the main or the image of the food.
All of this card will be made on Photoshop as well. This will show professionalism to
people that know of it and because I already know how to use it.
3. Idea Treatment:
Theme: Young Girls Sleepover
This card will be based around young girls and them having a sleepover.
The recipes that will be included on this card are something fun for a group of friends
to make and can be made in a matter of minutes with a helping hand from an adult.
The type of food that could be included on these cards is, Chocolate brownies,
Butterfly buns and a Victoria sponge cake.
These meals are perfect for a group of young girls to make as its something that they
can all get stuck in to and work together as a team. Pink or red food colouring can also
be added to these recipes so that they are even more apt for girls.
The preparation time for these would be 5 minutes, making time, 10 minutes and
cooking time 20 minutes.
The font that will be being used on these cards is an elegant yet fun font, which looks
as if it has been done by children but in a more professional manner.
This font will come from the site Dafont and will be called ‘CF Life is Beautiful’.
The layout of this card will be portrait.
The images that will be being used are high quality images, on the front of the card
will be a picture of the food and then there will be two banners on the top and
bottom again and they will be done so that they are checker pink and white, this is
something cute for the girls to look at.
The images on this card will be a graphical image of some girls having a sleepover or
some stars in one of the corners, this will be on the back page. This represents things
girls like from doing research.
The background of the back of the card will also be white with a little white and pink
checker boarder going all the way around.
The logo of the card will also be on the back in the top left hand corner with the title
of the dessert, prep time, making time, and cooking time.
Underneath that it will also say how many the meals serve.
4. Audience:
The audience for this is young girls who are having a girly sleepover, ages 5-10. You
can see this from the cartoon images of the girls having a sleep over on the back of
the page and the colours that have been used, for example, pink, white and red.
The target gender for this is young girls.
Production Methods:
This will be made on Photoshop like all the other cards, this is because it’s quick and
easy for me to use and there is no hassle with me using it.
The effect that this card will have is Varnish. The boarder on the top and bottom of
the image will have a nice sheen to it and the boarder going all the way around the
card on the back will also be varnished.
This will make the cards look different to all the others.
