Personal Ambition
Personal ambitions and goals have been influential within my life causing a major impact on the professional and personal connections that I have
made within my community.
Every morning when I wake up I am in a positive state of mind that can lead to completing my daily goals and finishes with the feeling of success.
When starting the day striving to meet my goals gives me a sense of accomplishment through my personal ambitions. I find every goal that I attain
assists me in reaching bigger and more desirable goals resulting in being a man with numerous trades and accomplishments.
Having a positive reputation and a last name that others respect is very important in todays society resulting in strong connections socially and
professionally by having strong personal relations skills. All the above things has given me the motivation to strive towards larger goals. Without
reaching and accomplishing small goals you will not be able to succeed and reach for large goals which will can limit your ambitions.
At the age of 12 I created my own little business with a simple plan and a goal of just making a small income by mowing lawns with my small Honda
lawn mower. My plan aloud me to receive 80 dollars a month in the first year but steadily increased every summer because my customer base
increased word of mouth and supply and demand. My financial gain has increased by 525 percent when comparing it to my first monthly income of 80

I can remember some of the most tender moments with my grandmother. We would just sit at her dinner table and talk. She would tell me what she was
thinking–usually about special memories from her past. I would listen to her intently, as if I were hearing her stories for the first time. I knew it meant a
great deal to her.
But then came one of the most painful days in both our lives. My grandmother had a fatal heart attack during surgery. She left this world and entered
her heavenly reward. While I was thrilled for her, I was sad as I realized that from then on, she couldn't say anything to me–not a word.
Although it was extremely difficult to bear, I was so thankful we had not wasted the opportunities God had given us to express our love for one
another. It gave me comfort to know we had not taken those times for granted. I was certain my grandmother understood how very much I cared for her.

Fate is a future that is destined to happen and there is no avoiding the imminent. Fate is controversial some might say it is just what happens next and

The Importance Of Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals
Lately, society had been going through many controversial issues and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is one of the most recent
issues that has made a pause in many people's life. This issue is affecting more than being beneficial to our society, it is threatening many futures
that are in our society, including my future because I'm a DACA recipient. I was brought to America in 1997 when I was six years old and have
not seen my citizen country since then. Thousands of people are not asking for something impossible, we are just asking for an opportunity to
demonstrate that we can contribute to this country. DACA should be restored because the DACA recipients aren't breaking any laws and are
actively contributing to America. There needs to be a change discontinuing DACA because the whole society is being affected. Not to mention that

My Passion For Service And Community
I was raised up believing in the importance of service and community as I saw my family members and neighbors selflessly help and be in
community with people in need. It is therefore no surprise that I discovered my passion for service and volunteerism while still young. In my
hometown Nairobi, Kenya, I did community service through various ways, including my involvement in the charity walk for Street Children and
Orphans in Kenya in 2003 and the 2007 Brookside Freedom from Hunger Campaign. I participated in the charity walk for these causes and helped
raise money to support street children, orphans, ending hunger, and was recognized as one of the top three people to raise the most funds. In high

The effect of the creation of the internet on individuals is hard to quantify. While it has led to many positive changes for society, many would argue it
has only complicated our lives, but the increased access to learning and cultural resources and information is difficult to ignore as a source of

Active Listening – listening to the words being said, the tone in which they are said and paying acute attention to the non–verbal communication. This
has many benefits it supports the client to feel understood, valued and accepted. This in turn will support the client to feel empowered. Active listening
supports the counsellor to understand what is being said and to identify the clients' thoughts and feelings. Active listening is a skill that needs to be
practiced and developed. Barriers to the process could include the environment for example external noise and interruptions may cause distractions. The
counsellor overthinking about how to respond to what is being said rather than actively listening, it takes practice to develop the ability to refrain from
doing this. Or the counsellor may pre–empt, move ahead in their own mind as to the direction in which the client is taking the conversation blocking the
ability to be open. The counsellor needs to be mindful or not allowing their own past experiences to cloud their thoughts and feelings towards the subject

As I logged onto my Facebook account last week, I received a notification saying that this time last year I was a Junior Knight Summer Camp
volunteer photographer. I was in total disbelief because this year I actually got the chance to teach rising sixth graders along with my other two cohort
members. I must say that being a "teacher" is completely different than being a "volunteer". As a teacher, you are held accountable for everything that
goes on in and out of your classroom that involves your students. I had the opportunity to be apart of the preparation process, build rapport with my

Leaving home to come to a city so far away for college was one of the hardest decisions that I've ever been faced with. I was excited at first, but when

Army Retention Operations At age four I knew that I would someday serve in the Armed Forces. I primarily focused on serving in the Army but
had a few distractions through the years. During the summer between my junior and senior year of high school, I decided it was time to talk to an
Army recruiter and evaluate my options. My only desire was to join the Army; I had not given much thought to what exactly in the Army I would
like to do. I had no idea or conception of an opportunity to serve in a position on the Army Staff at the Pentagon. After 19 years of service I was
given just that opportunity. While very stressful and a demanding work environment, Army Retention Operations was a valuable learning and

My Personal Identity
Our backgrounds is usually what defines; my background is my identity. Everything about my life, my background and weirdly I would like to think
my future spells hardship. I on the other hand would like to think that my background prepared me for this. As I look on my childhood, I contemplate

over thinking, having the habit of being a perfectionist, and shyness. I will hopefully get over these challenges which will make me feel more
