nicknames and is famous for doing so. Alongside a revamp of the TV show, it
was originally marketed as the missing link between Smash Hits and NME, but
over a period of time it’s content became less about music and a went through a
demographic shift to young girls.

‘Q’ is a popular music magazine which is again published monthly in the United
Kingdom.
Founders Mark Ellen and David Hepworth were dismayed by the music press of the
time, they felt people were ignoring a generation of older music buyers who were
buying CDs — then still a new technology. Q was first published by the EMAP media
group in October 1986, it set itself apart from many other music press with monthly
production with their higher standards of photography and printing. In the early
years, the magazine was sub-titled "The modern guide to music and more". Originally
it was going to be called Cue, but as the name sounded like a snooker magazine they
changed it to the well known ‘Q’. Another reason, seen in Q's 200th edition, is that a
single-letter title would be more prominent on newsstands.
In January 2008 EMAP sold its consumer magazine titles, including Q, to the Bauer
Media Group.
5. ‘Blender’ was an American music magazine that billed itself as "the ultimate guide to
music and more". It was also known for sometimes steamy/suggestive pictures of
celebrities. Some of its content is lists of albums, artists, and songs, including both
“best of” and “worst of” lists. In each issue, there was a review of an artist's entire
discography (every song they have ever done), with each album being analyzed in
turn.
Blenders publisher was Dennis Publishing. The first magazine was published in 1994
as the first digital CD-ROM magazine by Jason Pearson, David Cherry & Regina
Joseph, acquired by Felix Dennis/Dennis Publishing, in the UK it published 15 digital
CD issues, and launched on the web in 1997. It started publishing a print edition again
in 1999 in its most recent form. Blender CD-ROM showcased the earliest digital
editorial formats, as well as the first forms of digital advertising
Owner Alpha Media Group closed Blender magazine March 26, 2009, going to an
online-only format in a move that eliminated 30 jobs and reduced the company's
portfolio of titles to Maxim alone. Blender's final print issue was in the April of 2009.
Subscribers to the magazine were sent issues of Maxim magazine to make up for the
unsent Blender issues.
