Students are assigned two speech activities. For the first activity, they must write a two-page persuasive speech using one of five speech types: stimulate, convince, call to action, increase consideration, or develop tolerance of alternate perspectives. They should apply principles of persuasion from Chapter 14. For the second activity, students must write a two-page informative speech using one of four speech types: explanation, report, description, or demonstration while drawing on concepts from Chapter 13. Both speeches should be posted in the discussion thread area.
