Jimmy’s Fries & Shakes
Jimmy’s Fries & Shakes founder Jimmy Britz knows the quick-service restaurant industry
inside and out. After leaving the Army in Hamburg, West Germany, he fell in love with the
traditional Canadian dish poutine, and he’s been serving it ever since. And though
technology and social media have changed how many franchises work, Britz believes the
basics of good food still stand strong today.
Britz chose poutine in particular because he wanted to share a unique, tasty food with
more of the world. Something that locals would come to love; something that you had to go
to Jimmy’s to enjoy. And thus Jimmy’s Fries & Shakes was born.
Poutine, for those unfamiliar, is a popular dish made of fries, cheese curds, and gravy. Britz
loves the traditional style, but he decided that to truly be unique, he had to spice it up with
some mouthwatering twists. At Jimmy’s, you can order poutine in Tex-Mex style—
complete with beef chili, guacamole, black beans, and corn—in a vegetarian blend, as a
Middle Eastern dish, or even an Asian-inspired serving with stylized toppings like Falafel or
Chicken Tandoori. The combinations are endless.
It’sBritz’s enjoyment of the fast-paced industry that drives him even today. Between brand-
building, team dynamics, and serving the public, he could not be happier with the product
