16. In Your Sketchbook:
Use the Internet and Art History books to choose and
compile a list of 10-12 famous works of art that you
like, admire, find interesting, etc.
Be sure to include the artist name & title of the piece
These works could be paintings, sculptures, or even
other photographs, and they could be from any period
in history.
Research those famous works of art in greater depth
and choose THREE final pieces that you will recreate.
NOTE: Be sure these are famous works of art! Use reputable
websites, not Google Images. See next slide for some good
websites…
18. In Your Sketchbook:
Find good quality images of your final 3 works…
print the 3 images and put into your sketchbook
include the artist name, title of the piece, year it was
created, and the medium used to create it
AND upload them to google drive!
Generate a list of characteristics of each piece. For
example: woman wearing blue scarf and pearl earring,
dark background, etc. DO THIS FOR EACH IMAGE!
Plan your own photography… Look back at your
description above and plan how you will interpret each
characteristic in your own work.
Consider switching up elements
Think about different props, models, etc.
Your plans should be SPECIFIC!!!
19. Set Up & Take Your Photos:
Shoot a series of new pictures (40 image
minimum…the more pictures you take, the more
options you will have for dynamic and successful
images) that recreate the 3 famous works of art you
chose.
Compile and edit your best 3 images and put them in
the drop box along with the 3 famous works of art
you saved.
Be prepared to share your images with the class in a
final critique!
