Innovative practice: Three step interviews
Theme of discussion: XML Transformation, Modelling Databases in XML.
Date and Time: 14.08.2019 & 2.15 pm to 3.05

Three step interviews
Student interview with partner and then share with teammates what they learned.
Goal:
The three step interview cooperative learning strategy encourages students to
improve active listening and thinking skills by cross-examining one another, sharing their
thoughts, and taking notes.
Three step interview process
 Divide students into groups of three,
 Assign three roles: interviewer, interviewee, and notetaker.
 Teachers call for Think time
 After assigning a theme of discussion, have students participate in a five to 10 minute
interview to discuss what they found to be the key information relating to the topic.
 After each interview, pair switches roles. Depending on factors including the grade
level of students and their experience with the strategy, you may adjust the length of
the time for each interview.
 Pairs pair to form a group of six
 Round Robin: Each student in turn shares with the teammate what he/she learned
interview.

Three step interview process  Divide students into groups of three,  Assign three roles: interviewer, interviewee, and notetaker.  Teachers call for Think time  After assigning a theme of discussion, have students participate in a five to 10 minute interview to discuss what they found to be the key information relating to the topic.  After each interview, pair switches roles. Depending on factors including the grade level of students and their experience with the strategy, you may adjust the length of the time for each interview.  Pairs pair to form a group of six  Round Robin: Each student in turn shares with the teammate what he/she learned interview.
