The production team filmed lip syncing shots of the artist Shenaya at the Barbican Centre, as well as dance shots in the underground parking garage. The filmmaker thought the shots went well as Shenaya was enthusiastic and natural in her performance, making filming easier. While the costume and location worked well for the shoot, an improvement could have been to capture additional night footage at the Barbican for contrast.

2. BARBICAN CENTRE
At the Barbican centre we took shots of
Shenaya lip syncing for the base tracks.
At the centre’s estate we went to the
underground car park for dancing shots
base tracks and a time lapse.

3. OVERALL REFLECTION
I think that the shots that were taken
today went really well, Shenaya was very
enthusiastic and got into the lip syncing
which made the performance seem
natural and made filming easier and
enjoyable. During the dancing shots we
included as much movement as we
could to make sure it wasn’t static – at all.

4. REFLECTION ON
SUCCESSFULNESS
The costume that Shenaya was wearing was
successful because not only did it link with the
black & white casual feel, but it was also
comfortable which made it easy for her to dance
in. Furthermore, although she has an outfit change
the outfit still links with her previous outfits that she
has had on. The Barbican centre was a successful
location because the areas we decided to film
wasn’t too crowded and we got a lot of single
shots of Shenaya. Also we have a lot of different
lighting and angles throughout the shots that we
have taken today. In terms of improvement we
could’ve had night shots at the Barbican so that
we had a contrast of day and night in our video.
But this idea is still being thought through.
