2. Objective of Lesson
1. Why should we turn to Jesus for help?
2. Why do we have to wait? Why not now?
3. Staying steadfast and accepting His will.
3. Why should we turn to Jesus for help?
• Jesus Christ is our friend too!
• John 15:15 From now on I call you not
servants; for the servant knows not what his
lord does: but I have called you friends; for all
things that I have heard of my Father I have
made known unto you.
• Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must
shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that
sticketh closer than a brother.
4. Why should we turn to Jesus for help?
Words of eternal Life
• John 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him,
Lord, to whom shall we go? you have the words
of eternal life.
• John 6:69 And we believe and are sure that
you are that Christ, the Son of the living God.
• (Ref. Gal.1:16)
5. Why should we turn to Jesus for help?
We don’t know what is best
• Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know that the
way of man is not in himself: it is not in
man who walks to direct his steps.
6. Why should we turn to Jesus for help?
• John 3:33 He that has received his testimony
has set his seal to this that God is true.
• John 3:34 For he whom God has sent speaks
the words of God: for God gives not the Spirit
by measure unto him.
• John 3:35 The Father loves the Son, and has
given all things into his hand.
7. Why do we have to wait?
• John 11:6 When he had heard therefore
that he was sick, he abode two days still in
the same place where he was.
• James 1:12 Blessed is the man that
endures temptation: for when he is tried,
he shall receive the crown of life, which
the Lord has promised to them that love
him.
8. Why do we have to wait?
• Romans 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in
tribulations also: knowing that tribulation works
patience;
• Romans 5:4 And patience, experience; and
experience, hope:
• Romans 5:5 And hope makes not ashamed;
because the love of God is shed abroad in our
hearts by the Holy Spirit who is given unto us.
9. Why do we have to wait?
• Hebrews 10:35-36 Cast not away therefore
your confidence, which has great recompense
of reward. For you have need of patience, that,
after you have done the will of God, you might
receive the promise.
• Hebrews 10:37-38 For yet a little while, and he
that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man
draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in
him.
10. • Hebrews 10:39 But we are not of them
who draw back unto perdition; but of them
that believe to the saving of the soul.
11. Why do we have to wait?
• The race is not for the swift
• Hebrews 12:1 Therefore seeing we also
are surrounded with so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which does so easily ensnare
us, and let us run with patience the race
that is set before us,
12. Staying steadfast & accepting HIS will
• John 11:20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard
that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary
sat still in the house.
• John 11:21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if
you had been here, my brother would not have died.
• John 11:22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever
you will ask of God, God will give it to you.
13. Staying steadfast
• Matthew 26:39 And he went a little further,
and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my
Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from
me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
• Matthew 26:42 He went away again the
second time, and prayed, saying, O my
Father, if this cup may not pass away from
me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
