1. Personal Statement
I have always been enthusiastic about the fashion industry since from a young age, I have always
seem that the fashion industry varies in many ways as people would buy garments that suits their
personality. In my eyes, I have always judged people on their clothing as I see that people’s dress
sense says a lot about their personality, what kind of music they’re into and what hobbies they
enjoy. Through my interest in fashion, I have always wanted to look into menswear fashion further
and this is why I have chosen to pick this course.
I am currently a sales assistant in Tessuti, one of the uk’s leading menswear store for high-end
fashion. Since I have started working there, I have learnt a lot about the brands that they stock
there. My favourite brand in the store is Stone Island and I learntalot about the dip dying techniques
that they use and also how they manufacture their own material such as their liquid reflective jacket,
it is made from small shards glass to reflect light so the garment changes colour as light shines on
the jacket. CP company has also the same dying technique that Stone Island uses as Massimo Osti
founded both CP (Chester Perry) and Stone Island. I have also learnt that there is a lot of different
fittings from different countries, Italian clothing brands tend to have a smaller fitting compared to
