4. EPC/EPIC Contracting
A strong project management ethos, together with on-site engineering,
procurement, bulk storage, fabrication workshops, blasting and painting shops and
construction areas ensure a smooth transition through the phases of EPC and EPIC
contracting.
Offshore Products:
We can provide full turnkey solutions for the supply and installation of:
• Wind turbine foundation
•Jackets and platforms for electrical substations, including fit-out and commissioning
of complete electrical systems
•Foundations, masts and data measuring and storage
•Equipment for meteorological masts
We offer a proven track record in the successful completion of EPIC contracts, a clear
understanding of key project drivers including safety, schedule, cost and quality and a
demonstrable record of successful partnering, alliances and joint ventures.

6. Facilities
SLP's UK construction facilities have been deployed within the offshore energy
industry for 40 years.
Located in Lowestoft, Suffolk and on the River Tyne in Newcastle the group's facilities
are ideally suited to Renewable Energy projects. With a useable construction area of
25,000m2
at Lowestoft and 124,000m2
at Tyneside, incorporating purpose built load-
out quays, SLP can build and transfer structures of up to 10,000 tonnes.
Onsite engineering, procurement offices, bulk storage, fabrication workshops, blasting
and painting shops and construction areas ensure a smooth transition through the
various phases of EPC and EPIC contracts. This 'self-contained' approach will meet the
most stringent demands of today's fast track projects.
In addition to the UK, SLP has access through joint ventures and associations to
additional construction facilities overseas. These have successfully been deployed as
far afield as Mexico, USA, Singapore, Iran and Qatar.

8. Onshore Wind Farm Development
As an experienced developer with an established development team, SLP
Energy has an excellent portfolio of projects at various stages of
development, including a number of merchant plant schemes.
In-house development work is undertaken to the maximum extent possible
to ensure a robust project. This includes:
•Project feasibility: Site identification, Feasibility studies, Landowner
negotiation
•Environmental Impact Assessments: Scoping and liaison with consultees,
Public consultation, Management of project through to planning consent
•Post consent work: Civil design and engineering, Procurement, Project and
construction management, Wind farm operations management

10. Offshore Wind Farm Development
The offshore team delivers specialised development and consultancy services based
on SLP's long track record in the offshore industry including:
• Knowledge and understanding of the intricacies and risks of offshore development
•A successful mix of development and contracting expertise
•The capability to develop offshore wind farms either in partnership or on our own
•Consultancy services to external clients including:
– Offshore site investigations - environmental and geotechnical
– Owner's engineer including offshore health and safety
– Engineering - feasibility assessments through to detail design

Opportunity for UK Demonstration Sites
SLP has a number of North Sea and English Channel sites under development suitable
for demonstration of new offshore technologies such as new offshore turbines,
deeper water foundations, personnel transfer systems, new installation technology
and remote environmental monitoring systems.

12. Wave and Tidal
SLP Energy has set its sights on becoming a market leader within the
wave and tidal industry.
Activities include:
•Identifying and developing potential sites for pre-commercial and
commercial exploitation
•Engineering solutions and expert consultants on offshore issues
•Designing innovative foundation and installation solutions
•Construction of prototypes with a view to commercialisation
Case Study - DEEP Gen Project
SLP Energy is playing a key role in the development of Tidal Generation
Ltd's DEEP Gen project (Deepwater Tidal Energy Prototype Generator).
Testing is currently underway and a demonstration unit is planned to
be commissioned in 2009 at EMEC, Orkney.

14. Offshore Substations
Drawing upon 40 years of experience engineering and fabricating offshore modules
and platforms in the North Sea, SLP is developing a "centre of excellence" for
offshore substations.
With full in-house design, engineering, procurement and fabrication capabilities SLP
Energy is unique in the renewables business in being able to offer a full EPIC service.
The integrated design engineering and fabrication capabilities allows SLP Energy to
offer innovative conceptual designs followed up be detailed sound engineering and
high quality economical fabrication.
•Experienced advice and support during conceptual design phase of topside layout
•Flexible approach to finalising design criteria
•Ability to operate with overlaps between design and construction in order to shorten
the programme

the environment, SLP has integrated the three management systems under the term
