Restructuring for Positive Change
"Restructuring for Positive Change" I start by saying "thank you" for expressing your concerns about the addition of a private business consultant to
your team. I think it's great that we agree on several common goals providing a superior product, exceeding customer expectations, streamlining the
business and improving Karsten's bottom line. In response to your questions regarding the proposed restructuring, I'd like to highlight a few key
points. We have grown to become elite leaders in a niche market. Unlike many of our competitors we don't carry huge shelves of inventory. We are
truly a "custom" shop that intimately understands the needs of our customers and caters to specific tastes and requirements (Jerry 2009). However, I
think we can agree that the need to implement change is almost inevitable in today's business environment if an organization is to survive and grow.
Your twenty–year tenure and expertise here at Karsten is not being overlooked. Your knowledge of your division's processes and team dynamics is both
highly valued and appreciated. However, there are larger factors at work external competition, economic challenges, and advances in technology that
have created a necessity for Karsten to rethink our strategies, apply greater creativity and cut operating costs. Bottom line: the time has come for
additional support. The teams of external consultants and experts being brought in have provided business restructuring plans to numerous other
companies. This

Positive Changes For Today 's Students
Positive Changes for Today 's Students

Abstract
Every school vision should lead to overall student achievement. As continuous pressure is placed on schools to prepare students to meet complex
standards, it is vital that schools examine their effectiveness to educate students using high quality teaching methods. Because not all students learn the
same, a "one size fits all" approach will not satisfy the needs of each student. With these challenges to improve academic proficiency, schools will need
to make changes that will result in positive outcomes. In this paper, the author will discuss change in education. The author will also examine how
change affects educators ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this knowledge, plans for educational change will begin.
Change in Education
Every student deserves to learn and grow in an environment that encourages them to explore themselves, others, and the world around them. Every
student deserves to be guided by well–trained educators that are committed to helping them to succeed. Knowing this, schools should strive to ensure
that no matter how much pressure is placed on them to reach academic proficiency, they do not lose sight of individual student achievement. Change
does not occur when staff members do not agree upon their school vision. This is why it is important for staff members to develop a vision that is
shared between everyone. Once a vision is finalized, staff members must work together to see the vision. When staff members aim to work together to
make productive change in their school, students benefit greatly.
The Effects of Change
Some educators are hesitant to the ideal of change for various reasons. Some educators believe that their current methods are effective and that no
changes are needed. Others may believe that new ideals and trends are temporary and do not equal to lasting effects. One factor that is seen in schools
is the lack of involvement that teachers have in deciding on what changes to implement. Teachers that work directly with students typically have a
better understanding of what may

Making a Positive Change in My Community
We all have something close to our heart that could make a positive change in our community and possibly even our earth. I could make a positive
change in my community by raising money through fundraisers to buy new, unused, cotton clothing (shoes, shirts, shorts), and by donating these
needed clothing items to underprivileged children. Due to my many hours of work in the community soup kitchen it was brought to my attention that
there is a need for more than food, there is a necessitate for clothing. I would hope to make sure no child goes unclothed. Namely I would do this
because I feel that clothing is not a luxury but a necessity. When I disinterred that some children in poor countries and communities do not posse
basic needs such as clothing, I was heart broken. This problem needs to be solved and I believe that this project/plan could, solve this dilemma or
at least begin to resolve it. This obstacle is larger than most people realize because in our area clothing is taken as a luxury that everyone owns; but
unlike previously thought it has been brought to my attention that many areas do not have access to this "luxury," and I do not believe that is right
so if I was able to find a way to mend this issue, I would be willing. No human being should go without a clean pair of clothes, and I have a daring
plan to fix that. If I were to implement this plan I am determined to start by brainstorming ideas for a good fundraiser for example a lemonade stand,

Building Effective Teams And Teamwork, And Leading...
Group skills are comprised of 3 core aspects which are: empowering and engaging others, building effective teams and teamwork, and leading positive
change. Each one of these core elements is very important in developing group skills and can always be improved if the proper approach is taken.
Effective empowering and engagement is made up of 9 various dimensions. For example, personal mastery experiences, modeling, providing support,
arousing positive emotions, providing information, providing resources, organizing teams, creating confidence, and delegating work are all dimensions
making up effective empowerment and engagement. I received a 12 for all of the elements listed and a 60 for delegating work which gives me a sum
score of 156, placing me in the high ability to empower others quartile. I agree with this score, because I like to help and give others the opportunities
to shine and reach their potential. I like to think of myself as a self–less person and help others grow and reach their potential and accompany on my
journey as well. Personal mastery experiences are experiences that give employees the confidence and ability to be successful at a particular assigned
duty. Modeling is how the leader goes to serve as an example for empowering others. Providing support is the extent in which a leader helps employees
feel empowered through help and insight. Arousing positive emotions is a way of circumventing issues of anxiety and fear. Providing information and

Technology's Positive Changes In The American Workforce
The changes throughout the years have been a huge positive and negative impact on those who are in the working force. Depending on that work
field you're in, it may be affected in the future because of the new advanced technology. Technology has only altered its way to work its
performances, the roles that workers play in a firm's division of labor, and the way these changing roles alter the structure of organizations. Having the
higher education and being well skilled is not only what companies look for, it's the uniqueness and what good things you can bring and improve.
The level of education is an important factor in this topic of responsibilities for the changes in the American workplace. According to Vista College,
it explains how having a higher education will have many job opportunity available compared to those who only completed high school. It has always
been a big thing because companies will always want to have the most skilled person for the job. The more of the language you'll speak the better
because you'll get many of the opportunity to be able to reach out to many of the counties and connect and work with them. ... Show more content on

Personal Narrative: Positive Change Academy
Agency Introduction
The agency that I visited for my placement is called Positive Change Academy. This academy is located in Wilmington Delaware. Wilmington
Delaware is a city where about 17,000 of its residents are living below the poverty level. Positive Change is an alternative school for children in 1st
through 8th grade. Children are enrolled in this school usually due to behavioral issues. The goal is to equip the children with the appropriate resources
to help reintegrate them all back into public, or private schooling systems. I had the pleasure of interviewing with Mr. Miller: Director of Education. Mr.
Miller stated that he is basically the assistant principal at the school.

Mr. Miller ended up meeting me at the back door of the school, being as though I called him while standing outside in the parking lot. My field
instructor did make me feel welcomed as soon as I met him, though. He gave me a small tour and we conducted our meeting in a small conference
room around a round table. The room wasn't that clean, but I think everything was cluttered because the school was being transitioned for the
upcoming school year. The school was quiet because it was only four people in the school at that time. I did not get to meet any of the students. I
did get a glimpse of the library which is a small room but it is able to fit at least 6 computers and has shelves stocked with books. The condition of
the school did not affect me, because I worked in a school that looked like this one before. This school had narrow stairways and hallways with low
ceilings, but I am so ready to be done with school that I am unbothered. If students have to learn in this environment then this is the type of place that I
would want to be in so I can help them. I yearn to lead the underserved

Positive Change In Miami Gardens
Having been a city public service employee for over 37 years, I have gained an understanding of the complexities of the work required by
dedicated public servants. As a resident of Miami Gardens for 38 years, I have worked to affect positive change in Miami Gardens in my role as a
Girl Scout troop leader and mentor for the last three decades. I have also kept myself abreast of the issues and concerns our city faces by attending
city council meetings regularly. As a resident, I have long been concerned about the blight in our community and I have decided to seek elected office
to tackle the issues that plague our community. I believe Miami Gardens has come a long way and with more progressive action and community–based
programs, we will be able to make even more progress. I am running as a candidate for Miami Gardens City Council Residential Area Seat 4. I feel
that there are practical solutions that can help resolve many of the issues our community faces. As a member of the Miami Gardens City Council, I

Scientific Advancements: Positive Changes In The 20th Century
Scientific advancements are constantly changing. There are many positive changes that are affecting people's lives. The new food pyramid, medical
reporting, and different labeling of taxonomy classes are making differences.
First of all, scientific advancements have made so many positive changes over time like the new food plate. In source 2 it states " The food pyramid
was too confusing so the Obama administration is about to ditch the food pyramid." In 2001 the food pyramid was ditched and out came the
choosemyplate.gov. In paragraph 2 on page 58 it says " The new food plate is meant to give consumers a fast, easily grasped reminder of the basic of a
healthy diet." As the author said the new food pyramid is a fast easy way for kids and adults to start the day.
Another key point, medical information is constantly changing and being updated. This is important for people and doctors to learn about new cures
and new advances in medicine. On page 56 it says " I want to show ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scientists have a system called taxonomy that measures all the species we know today. These could eventually help us to understand future medical
advancements. In source 3 it states " In the 18th century the Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus created a new, complex system of taxonomy based largely
on the similar structures that organisms have." The taxonomy system has changed greatly in the 20th century. We have had so many changes in
Linnaeus taxonomy system one example is molecular biology which places animals in kingdoms based on their DNA and RNA. On page 61 it says "
Various life forms have been moved into three new kingdoms : Fungi ( including mushrooms), Monera ( bacteria ) , and Protists ( protozoans and
most algae )." We have just barely touched the tip of all the species out there and you never know where we might find them next maybe at the bottom

Effective Leadership For A Positive Change Agent
Effective leadership begins with the ability to be a positive change agent. This can be observed through the review of workplace changes at Wet n
Wild Sydney in relation to Rosabeth Moss Kanter's paper 'Leadership for change: Enduring skills for change masters' (Kanter, 2005).
The skills of a positive change agent are described in detail by Kanter and are vital to becoming a positive change master. There are three phases of
change projects according to Kanter. The first phase, generating ideas, involves skills such as sensing needs and opportunities for change and using
kaleidoscope thinking to assess all solutions to a problem 'by changing the angle on the kaleidoscope' (Kanter, 2005, p. 3). The second phase of a
change project is trying to sell ideas, this is achieved through moulding ideas into a theme as well as enlisting the support of backers to help ensure
the project can get moving. The third phase involves developing and implementing ideas. This is accomplished by developing the dream 'There are
two parts of this job: team–building and team–nurturing' (Kanter, 2005, p. 9). It also crucial for a change agent to persist and preserve to get over any
obstacles. The final critical skill of change project consists of celebrating accomplishments.
One can easily identify leaders acting in a change agent role at the theme park Wet 'n' Wild Sydney, one of the largest waterparks in the world. Due to
the size and extent of the business Wet 'n' wild has an incredibly large

Positive Changes In The Early 1900's
There were many reasons that a positive change was needed in the US during the early 1900's. The use of child labor went up during the industrial
revolution. People needed to feel some newness in the 1900's. They were so used to restrictions. During the progressive era people fought to change
issues such as racism, women not having rights and child labor. During this time colored people still had to use separate bathrooms from whites.
There was a lot of segregation between black and white people. African Americans couldn't use the same water fountains either. Even in some
restaurants they didn't let colored people in. They even gave them their own theatres. They tried to keep colored people as separate from white people
as they could.

Hunger In Laredo: A Positive Change
A Positive Change
Hunger... this affects an estimate of 13 million children in America and about 795 million people worldwide. Hunger is a severe crisis that has
been continuously growing in many homes throughout our community. Children and families in Laredo are suffering from this epidemic and it is
important to spread awareness to end it. Personally, I believe that when you help one person, you are one step closer to changing the world. As a
human being, it is our duty to recognize the struggles our community faces and help people from our community surpass these problems. A way I
would help with humanitarian efforts in our community is by volunteering and sharing the stories of the people whose lives were affected. Around
our city of Laredo, in the county of Webb, we have many people that would go hungry if not identified. Many of these people in our community do
not qualify for social services due to the family's being undocumented. It is the community's responsibility to educate and find these people who
might otherwise go hungry. It is a challenge where our border community needs to help and provide the basic needs for children and families in our
area. I would like to work hand in hand with local foodbanks and begin to expand a community garden which would provide vegetables to people in
need of food. If the community comes together to motivate our population to be aware of hunger in our community, we would all be better because of
the help that we may provide ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Will The Frontier Be Affected By A Positive Change?
Question One a.Why is the PPF concave to the origin? The production possibilities frontier is concave to the origin as it represents the increase
opportunity goods along with the outputs of goods which is increasing. This is due to the law of opportunity goods – with one increase or production,
an increase in opportunity costs follows (Layton, Robinson and Tucker, 2016). b.How will the frontier be affected by a positive change in technology
for the product on the horizontal axis? The points represented on the production possibilities frontier represent the maxim outputs of each product
(Layton, Robinson and Tucker, 2016. The amount of tables produced each year is presented on the vertical axis's and the amount of chairs produced

Elasticity is not confined to demand curves as the demand of a product consumed is not always related to the price of the item. For instance the
demand of meat products may be high during holiday seasons, while the price is the same throughout the year and vice versa. b.The demand for a
product is price elastic and the product 's price is decreased by X%. What might be the expected change in quantity demanded and revenue? If a
product is price elastic and the price decrease this will result in more people purchasing the product and therefor the revenue will increase. This is
because more people are going to purchase the product in higher quantities if they see it at a cheaper price. For instance supermarkets often promote
price dropped items, at a new cheaper price, this means more people are likely to buy that brand of product as opposed another that is a higher price –
resulting in a higher revenue for the product (Layton, Robinson and Tucker, 2016). Question Four a.Explain why profits are maximised when MR =
MC. Profits are maximised when market revenue = market cost because the amount of product being produced is equal to the cost of producing the
output. If marginal revenue was left then marginal cost, this would be the cost of producing the output was less than the revenue, causing the profit to
lower (Layton, Robinson and Tucker,

How we teach is just as important as what we teach. This is especially true when training staff to perform on the job. Due to the important role of our
direct care staff it is crucial to implement training procedures that are scientific and evidence–based. Based on the following literature review, Positive
Behavior Changes (PBC) has created a comprehensive training package for direct care staff. By utilizing Personalized Systems of Instruction (PSI),

As the name suggests, this type of training should take place 'in situ' or in an environment where the staff can get exposure to potential challenging
behaviors or crises through role–play. When researching these methods, the following study surfaced. Researchers evaluated the effects of behavioral
skills training (BST) with in–situ training (IST) to teach safety skills to 4–7 year old children. The ten participants were evaluated when they found a
gun, on their demonstration of safety skills. In order to prevent gun–play, the children were taught appropriate safety skills using modeling, rehearsal
and feedback (Miltenberger, 65). In addition, simulated–situ training (SIT) and in–situ training were compared between all participants. Results of this
study demonstrated that SIT and BST significantly less effective than in–situ training (IST) was found to be an effective training tool, and the skills
acquired were generalized and maintained over months. It is essential to provide in–situ training to staff, as this is the best opportunity for skill
development and feedback. While this study did not identify simulated in–situ training, or what we refer to as, role–play as being the most effective
training method, it is the best way to provide hands–on learning opportunities for the staff prior to being

Positive Changes In The Great Gatsby
People do change, but it is not realistic to restart a relationship. Some things will change, but they will never be the same. Some people might believe
this, but events will shape some of the outcomes in the different lives of others. Things won't be the same. But good things will always come out of the
bad. Life happens and things happen that isn't expected, but it always works out.
There is really no way to turn back the clock in anything in life. There will be certain situations that you will forgive and forget, but in reality there
will always be that thing that happened in the back of your head. We all have those things in life where we really wish that we could forget or maybe
go back to and things be the same. It never does happen that way. What has happened is something that you can not change.

"Failure" or bad things really does help shape you into a better person and you learn from mistakes. For example in a relationship when people
break up there's usually a good reason for it. So learn from your mistakes. If those people were to get back together remember what tore you apart
and fix those mistakes. A lot of times after people break up they do regret it, just like Gatsby. "Angry, and half in love with her, and tremendously
sorry, I turned away." That's how it can be good. It can show you what not to do this time. "People disappeared, reappeared, made plans to go
somewhere, and then lost each other, searched for each other, found each other a few feet away." This has happened to me before. I have had a
breakup before and gotten back together with that person. It really made the relationship stronger. You will always be able to cherish the good
memorie in that relationship. "Then he kissed her. At his lips' touch she blossomed for him like a flower and the incarnation that was

Speak Positive Change
How Positive Change is Derived From Negative Experiences In the life of a teenager, negative experiences are sometimes inevitable. As adolescents
transition into young adults, there i's no doubt that they would sometimes feel down because of a few traumatizing experiences. These negative
experiences could range from a whole variety of reasons. In fact, sometimes adolescents feels as if they have no control over the situation which is
evident with the character Melinda in the book Speak. On the other hand, teens are sometimes subjected to very sudden harsh and traumatic changes in
one's life which they have to cope with and learn from which can be seen with Andy and Shane in the book Skud. Along with that, there were and still
are other teenage... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is evident in the novel Speak, since Melinda goes through a traumatizing school year with frequent bullying as well as a sexual assault. Not
only is she able to pull through ultimately, she also accepts what happened and asserts that she is willing to learn from the experience. For instance,
near the end of the book, Melinda asserts "IT happened. There is no avoiding IT, no forgetting. No running away, or flying, or burying or hiding.
Andy Evans raped in August when I was drunk and too young to know what was happening. It wasn't my fault. And I'm not going to let it kill me. I
can grow" (Anderson 198). Again, this quote greatly implies that Melinda has developed a growth mindset which has allowed her to move on from
this traumatizing experience and she is essentially stating that she will not contemplate on the horrific incident endlessly but she will instead try to
learn and acquire some insights after going through the frequent bullying and the assault. Melinda's experience is also extremely similar to Maddy's
experience of being sexually assaulted in the book The Pain Eater. Maddy also contemplated on the horrific incident a lot throughout the book, but
ultimately, she acknowledged that contemplating on the incident over and over will not change anything and she decided that it was time to stop this
mental illness and learn to move on. Melinda also states "let's talk about it" (Anderson 198) towards her art teacher at the very end of the book when
her art teacher inquired her about her school year. This passage reflects her growth mindset even more since this is strong evidence that Melinda is
now willing to open up and talk about her troubles. Although Melinda suffered through a school year full of

Positive Economic Changes Of Industrial Automation Essay
Positive Economic Changes of Industrial Automation by 2036 When a sect of society is faced with the imminent reality that its lifestyle will be
disrupted by the advent of the latest technology, there ensues a massive ideological regression to the status quo. Historically, polls showed an
aversion to technology, with only 28% of adults labelling themselves as "early adopters" of technology (Pew Research). A low percentage of early
adopters creates a "chasm" of technology adoption, reinforced by the dissent of a vocal minority of technology conservatives. This aversion to
technology is not drawn on by rational, evidence–based conclusions, but rather, apocalyptic premonitions of the poorer livelihoods of average citizens.
The common fear is that automation will kill jobs and create a high unemployment rate. Despite this hyperbolic scenario, the trope offers a starting
point to analyze the scope of economic changes that would occur during a plausible future. The current 20 year period we live in (2016 to 2036) can
be categorized as the genesis of capable, automated machines, which will be referred to as "CAMs," that can take on menial tasks currently done by
humans. This does not cover highly intelligent AI, as they are too distant in the future to accurately predict, refer to Appendix A for more information.
During this period, we will see a future in which CAMs are automated enough to perform menial tasks like burger flipping, cashiering, etc, and

Positive Changes in the Quality of Life for Woman in Morocco
In recent years, Morocco has made positive changes to the rights and quality of life for women. These changes include educational opportunities, use
of contraception, more public participation, and greater participation in the paid workforce. With the persistence of patriarchy, the presence of religion,
and the current spotlight on the Middle East, life of Muslim women still remains invisible. It is valuable to explore the ways in which Muslim women
explain their place in society today. Many feminist movements in Morocco parallel those in the western world and create several notable achievements
on behalf of human and women's rights. At the political and social level, there are signs that conditions for women are changing. Social organizations,
which encourage women's rights, are becoming more popular and influential. During the last part of the 19th century continuing through the 20th
century women in well off classes had access to feminist ideas and developed the first period of feminism in Morocco. After the independence period of
the 1940s the Moroccan palace created the "Feminism of State." Although more of a silent representation rather than an active transformer it paved way
for more active forms of feminism in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1969 the National Union of Moroccan Women was created and the Moroccan Association
of Familiar Planning began in 1971. These organizations began the second feminist generation and movement, which moved through the 1980s and

Positive Character Changes
"To really change the world, we have to help people change the way they see things. Global betterment is a mental process...change has to be
psychological. So if you want to see real change, stay persistent in educating humanity on how similar we all are than different. Don't only strive to be
the change you want to see in the world, but also help all those around you see the world through commonalities of the heart so that they would want to
change with you. This is how humanity will evolve to become better. This is how you can change the world," says Suzy Kassem, the author of
ВЁRise Up and Salute the Sun: The Writings of Suzy Kassem.ВЁ Although, how does one's mentality affect the way they change the world? It's
simple: having a negative mindset will only change the world for the worse, while having a positive mindset will help change it for the better. You
may wish for the world to change, and you may also have ideas on how to achieve that, but it all starts with you. Improving on one's character, mindset,
attitude, and ambitions will help change the world into a better place. I believe that focusing on self–improvement does do more to change the world
for that better than attempting to change the world.
Having positive character traits plays a significant role for both self–improvement and bettering the world. Character development is important in
literature, so of course it would be important on a more global perspective. For example, in a story, the protagonists always

Making Positive Changes For Expectant Parents
Within this essay, I will reflect on an event that I witnessed during clinical placement, focussing on the process of non–directed donation (RCOG, 2006)
of umbilical cord blood via the onsite NHS Blood and Transport (NHSBT) team, as well as the related issue with the antenatal communication and
subsequent consent to utilise the service. In order to maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council's Code of
Conduct (NMC, 2008) and The Data Protection Act (1998), the hospital and the people involved in the event, (as well as those involved in
subsequent conversations as a result) will not be referred to by name. I have used the Gibbs reflective cycle (Gibbs, 1988), and will be relating the
event back to recent research and relevant hospital and governmental procedures wherever possible. As a result of this assignment, I have undertaken
further research that will be outlined below, which I hope will assist in making positive changes for expectant parents in the future.
Donation of umbilical cord blood is a trend that has grown in popularity in recent years, and is now offered on site at several NHS trust hospitals
(RCOG, 2006). Despite this service being readily available to expectant parents within my placement hospital, it became clear during my second week
that the relevant information regarding donation was not being provided soon enough in the antenatal period which would allow for an informed

Autism Positive Changes
A Positive Change in Education The spectrum of autism has expanded making a special education program a necessity to any school. Autism speaks
states, "Every child has the right to a free appropriate education (paragraph 2)". Not only should an autistic child have the right to education but instead

Leading Positive Change
1. The TED talks videos of Simon Sinek and Rosabeth Moss Kanter provided me with valuable information when it comes to inspiring others to
follow your lead, as well as knowing the six important keys to leading positive change. From Simon Sinek's presentation, I learned that the best way to
inspire others is by understanding how we lead and communicate with one another by focusing on what others can believe in. Sinek made it clear in his
presentation that the "Golden Circle" of why, how, and what are what some organizations like Apple have mastered in inspired individuals to action.
Most organizations that fail to inspire others, like his example of TiVo, normally focus on telling individuals what their products do, but the organization

I do agree with this idea that if we are motivated by why we are doing something in particular for the greater good, our actions or products will be
more valuable to those around us. One of Kanter's keys to leading to positive change that stood out to me the most was to never give up. I tend to
be very hard on myself when I am faced with an obstacle that I would consider a failure, but according to Kanter's Law is only considered a failure
if you give up. It is important to remain engaged by pushing forward even if it takes longer than imagined because the mindset of not giving up is
what Kanter considers a "hallmark of leaders". This is an important key is many of us, including myself, tend to forget that not everything in life is
perfect so it is important for us to keeping working harder to reach our goals. Kanter's other key, which I believe is extremely important to
implement in our lives to lead positive change is to lift other up. By sharing success and credit is what helps any environment to have the ability to
be able to accomplish any task over and over successfully. I strongly agree with this idea because I have always felt that there is always power in
numbers, and if everyone is working together by supporting one another anything can be

Columbus Day : A Positive Change To The Columbus Day?
Although Columbus may have supposedly discovered America, Columbus day should not be a holiday due to the lack of achievement in the present
day United States and cruelty that he showed to the Native Americans when he arrived in the Bahamas. Some people have suggested that Columbus
Day should be celebrated due to the fact that Columbus brought change and a source of development to the new world. While Columbus may have
brought some change to the America's like the introduction of livestock like sheep and cattle, he really brought so many more devastating diseases like
influenza, smallpox, and typhus. What positive change did the Native Americans really get to experience? How can natives experience this so called
positive change that these foreigners are bringing over when they are wiping out the fellow Native Americans brothers, sisters, father, mother and
leaders with diseases that the natives have no immunity to. Wiping a whole species out is definitely a change that Columbus brought to these innocent
Native Americans but this deadly diseases were on the complete other end of the positive change spectrum. A man who brings negative change to the
Americas is not something that needs to be celebrated by hundreds of millions of people in the United States every year. Slavery –– a black stain in the
history of the western hemisphere which ran rapid all the way through the 19th century in the United States and who brought that problem to the

Teachers Leaders Inspire Positive Change
Overview
Teachers are considered pillars of the society as they are charged with the responsibility of educating and shaping young minds into productive
members of the society. According to Danielson (2006), teacher leaders are those who possess a specific set of skills that allow them to teach and also
have an influence on students beyond the classroom.
Defining Teacher Leadership
Teacher leaders inspire positive change among students that allow them to be successful beyond the classroom and impact positively on the society.
Teacher leaders are those who possess the skills and ability to influence students positively in a manner that impacts positively in the society which
facilitates for positive growth. A teacher leader is also one who inspires personal initiative and promotes student self–sufficiency.
Creating a Lasting School Change
Teachers are central to the role of creating a lasting and sustainable school change that is aimed at preparing students to excel in the workplace and
life. Teachers are important to this process it begins with a change in teacher leaders, which is then reflected in the rest of the school and the education
system. For example, a positive change in a teacher leader will be likely to inspire positive change in students, and this is reflected back to the society
as a lasting positive change (Sparks, 2005). In any countries, it is mandatory for students to attend school and the teachers are given the responsibility
of shaping these

Positive Changes In Middle School (YHD)
Before attending YHD I honestly had no clue what to expect. Middle school is such an awkward age and time for kids. Well let's just say it was
for me. I had no clue how these kids would react to us being there and if they would even listen to what we had to say. Standing in that gymnasium
all I could do was look around at all the faces and think to myself "How am I going to make a difference to all these kids?" All I could tell myself was
if I even got one student to listen to me that was better than nothing. "Helping one child is still better than nothing, Sarah".
Before I knew it the health fair had started and the first round of kids walked in. Most of the students went straight to get their height, weight, and
blood pressures done without even blinking an eye. I was beyond nervous for some reason and just sort of stayed in my own little corner. The next
round of students came in and I knew I had to do and say something. I mean that was the whole point we were there. I traded spots and took blood
pressures and made small talk with the kids and it was great. On the next go around Michelle Ferguson and I talked to the kids about ... Show more

The high school I attended was predominantly a Caucasian student body, so this was different for me. Most of the students spoke Spanish to one
other which was also a new experience. A few times when students were speaking Spanish I would ask them what they were saying and they would
translate it all back to me. They definitely liked this and I could tell they appreciated the fact that I was at least trying with them. When I was
standing at the poster about sugar content I felt like I really made a difference with a few kids. I would get a "Wow that's a lot of sugar!" or "I drink
all that in one day?" I talked to the students about better choices to make and for some it really seemed like they soaked the information

Positive And Negative Effects Of Technological Change
Technological change is an increase in the efficiency of a process (usually done by a machine) which results in more output, but without input having
been increased (Winston, n.d). A specific level of technological advancement is necessary for productivity and growth in the economy of a country.
The absence of proper technological change retards the economic growth and technological change has impacted the world by creating new products
and processes, increasing efficiency and lowering costs, and helping economies evolve. Structural unemployment is the situation when the jobs are
available and workers are willing work, but they don't have the required job skills to qualify for the vacant positions or just simply the mismatch
between the jobs available and the skill levels of the unemployed. Technological change may make some skills obsolete or require new ones. For
example, the introduction of personal computers since the 1980s, has lowered demand for typists who lacked computer skills (Rittenberg &
Tregarthen. 2012, p 216). Technological changes have negative effects on employment. It negatively affects the value the value of workers and
automated processes and other technology have become more important to the process of increasing output. Workers are less expensive to replace than
machines therefore they have become less valuable as a result of technological change. Government's economic policies have an influence on
technology development and adoption because it helps

Positive Change In Food Waste Levels
Over the course of the last 47 years our level of wasted food has increased by 40% meaning that we throw away one third of our food. This problem
is also more devastating than most people realize. We waste billions of dollars of food and the amount of food that just the united states wastes in one
year could fill 730 football stadiums. This food waste also is hurting the environment in a major way, increasing our CO2 levels exponentially. All of
this food that we waste could be going to serving the homeless and starving. The best way to start to make positive change in food waste levels is to
begin to recognize the problem, spread awareness for the environmental damage it does, and to start to implement policies that give small businesses ...

Even if people understood that food would still not get to people who need it because getting the food to the hungry and to shelters and the poor is
not cheap for the suppliers and is actually cheaper for them to just throw it away. That might be the biggest issue of all because for businesses to
donate food is very expensive, they have to box it, store it, coordinate delivery dates, and there's a lot of overheads, and you cannot blame most
companies for trying to make ends meat. Companies are also not charities, which is why companies should be incentivized to donate food with tax
breaks, large corporations already get one, charity's get them and it would increase the amount of food that's being donated exponentially.
Especially for small companies because annoyingly small companies tax breaks are not a permanent part of the tax code. This means that Congress
has to keep renewing it which is a problem, because family farms and local restaurants may not know if they're going to get that break and the end
of the year. So donating food might not be financially viable for them. IT's a ridiculous system that prevents a lot of food from being donated. It's a
widely agreed upon statement that small businesses should receive tax incentives to donate food. Once we do this it will be just one small piece of
stopping this problem, and the

Positive Changes In America
Charles Darwin once stated, "It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change." These
famous words demonstrate that here in America, it is not about our strength or power, but the people's response towards positive changes. All in all, I
believe in an America with everyone man and women embracing their freedoms as American citizens. The First Amendment in the Constitution
summarizes that, Congress cannot take away the people's rights to freedom of speech and expression. If, say, Martin Luther King did not bother to
protest against segregation, then there may still have been inequality today. If no one in America believed in voicing their opinions, then how would

and citizens were either mentally or physically injured and took a long time to recover from their experience, making society lose hope on life and
became disillusioned. On the other hand, our military and technology grew stronger, that helped us win the war with our allies. Yes, the Great
Depression ended, making our economy better itself, but it also was the beginning of violence and ambition between countries, which led to the

Promoting Positive Change Through Effective Leadership
Promoting Positive Change Through Effective Leadership
Prodanciuc (2012), in his paper, discusses the definitions of a group or organization, based on several different studies done on the subject. He goes
on to list different definitions of groups, along with the components that make the organization. In this paper, I apply these concepts while looking at
what I would do were my career path took me to a position of leadership, where I would be responsible for guiding and motivating my fellow
employees.
The Company
I am currently an engineer in a company that supplies products to the railroad industry. I work together with sales, production and quality control in
providing them the product designs they will produce for our clients. Given that I'm in a particularly central position in the company, I can see how the
communication (or lack thereof) between the groups affects the overall process and results. I can also see how the leadership style, in both the
engineering department and overall, affects the engagement between the groups.
Leadership
Prodanciuc (2012) says leadership "refers to the ability to exert influence over the group, so as the group's behavior is directed toward specific
objectives and results". The overall leadership style of the company is very laissez–faire, where employees are given their basic functions, but left with
little direction as to how to accomplish their tasks or as to the most efficient manner of doing so. Much of this is given to the

Personal Narrative- Making Positive Changes Essay
Personal Narrative– Making Positive Changes
I have positive attributes and weaknesses as everyone else does. However, since I came from Peru to America, I experienced many changes in my
personality from a shy girl to an independent, outgoing and friendly teenager. My strongest personal attributes are generosity, my spirit of
collaboration and my perseverance to achieve any goals and overcome obstacles in my life. For example, when I was in Peru I used to go to a
hospital to help children with disabilities. I used to visit them very often. I played with them so that they could forget for a while about their sickness. At
the time I could make them happy and they enjoyed a nice moment getting to know me. By helping them, I felt a great ... Show more content on

People might say that I am not that talkative. When I was in school I wasn't the kind of girl who goes and talks to everyone, unless I knew the person. I
always had to wait for someone to start a conversation with me. That's why in some way it was hard for me to make friends as a child, because of my
shyness.
When my parents decided to come here, it was kind of a shock for me. First of all, the language and the challenge to start a new life, meet new
people and adapt myself to the new and different customs worried me. Here in the United States, the fact that I didn't speak English really well
made the high school separate me from the other students, putting me into a different program; ESL. This program helped me a lot, because the
teacher encourage us to not give up. She told us that it is good to experience sometimes some changes in our lives. That's how we can learn more and
improve ourselves. She also talked with the principal about doing a diversity program to help ESL students integrate more with the rest of the school.
She encouraged us to talk about and to feel proud of the differences in our cultures. By overcoming this huge change, this experience made me grow
more inside as a person.
Now, I am more independent, a little bit more outgoing and friendly. I'm more independent in the way that I have a job and I don't depend anymore
on my parent's money. I can buy and have all what I want, but always keeping in mind to save for tomorrow. The

Year Round Schooling Should Be A Positive Change
Year Round Schooling Could be a Positive Change
Summer vacation. For most children and teens, the phrase conjures up images of hot, sunny days and vacations with the whole family to far–off
places. We all envision lazy afternoons relaxing on the beach, playing in water parks, and going on picnics. But what happens whensummer ends and
the reality of another year of school sinks in?
A large portion of the knowledge gained during the last school year is lost over the long idle months and must be retaught for weeks, which wastes a
lot of time that could be spent learning new material. This puts students behind in that year's curriculum, and over many summers, can add up to
students being months or years behind where they would be if no learning was lost. There is a solution to this problem, however: year–round school.
Year–round school provides many advantages for both students and adults over the traditional summer vacation schedule.
The most important advantage of year–round school is that it helps students retain knowledge. Learning lost during the summer is a big problem.
Proponents of year–round school assert that having shorter breaks would reduce learning loss because the students couldn't forget as much over a
shorter period of time. Detractors often say that there have been no reputable studies supporting this. It is true that many studies had somewhat faulty
methodologies, failing to account for other variables that could have affected performance, like

Positive Changes In The Progressive Era
As the world came into a new century, United States flew to a new era. No longer were Americans willing to huddle in the shadows of their rich
neighbors, no longer were they willing to be used as cheap labor, and no longer were they willing to stay quiet. The Progressive Era hit United States
with full force, screeching to halt corruption and sexist discrimination. However, as one part of Americans experienced positive change the other part
was discriminated against. The Progressive Movement changed America extensively, yet that change was not positive for all.
A central issue of the Progressive Movement was political corruption. For many years Political Machines plagued urban areas, bribing immigrants for
votes in exchange for jobs. Moreover, government positions were awarded for political affiliation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the early 1900's many progressives were females looking to legacy of positive change. A large reform movement that women were involved in
was the Settlement House movement. Popularized by Jane Addams and Ellen Gates Starr who opened the Hull House, Settlement Houses boarded
middle class workers (many females) that would live in between urban slums to help out the poor though medical knowledge and the sharing of
education. These types of reforms not only helped the poor and unfortunate, but also granted females more power. Female organizations, like the
National American Woman Suffrage Association, grew in size, and females were able to transform their traditional social roles into public and political
roles. Through these types of reforms, women were able to obtain broader support for female suffrage, and in 1920 the 19th amendment was adopted
prohibiting the government from denying U.S. citizens the right to vote based on gender. While the Progressive Era was progressively transforming the
lives of females for the better, minorities seemed to have been left in the

Positive Change During The Progressive Era
Have you ever been told that you couldn't do anything due to the fact that you have a different race or gender? This is what many women went through
before the 19th reformation was surpass, they were being differentiated because of the gender and race. During the Progressive Era, people fought to
change issues such as city living, lack of right for groups of people, and working conditions. Due to an abundant amount of people that moved to cities,
the government passed the city management law. The massive issues with women not being able to vote and do things because they're women the 19th
amendment was passed. Due to the large working conditions, there were laws passed such as child labor law, workmen's comp law, and minimum,
wage law, The Progressive Era was a time of positive change. During the Progressive Era Susan B. Anthony fought for women's equitable and
demanded that the Fourteenth Amendment include a guarantee of the vote for women. Not until the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment in 1919
did women throughout the nation get the right to vote. In 1869, Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton founded the National Woman Suffrage
Association. Later on in that year, Lucy Stone, Julia Ward Howe, and others started the American Woman Suffrage Association took place in Seneca
Falls, New York (Women's Suffrage). The rich and poor, white and black, native–born Americans and immigrants joined these national women's clubs.

Restructuring For Positive Change

  • 1. Restructuring for Positive Change "Restructuring for Positive Change" I start by saying "thank you" for expressing your concerns about the addition of a private business consultant to your team. I think it's great that we agree on several common goals providing a superior product, exceeding customer expectations, streamlining the business and improving Karsten's bottom line. In response to your questions regarding the proposed restructuring, I'd like to highlight a few key points. We have grown to become elite leaders in a niche market. Unlike many of our competitors we don't carry huge shelves of inventory. We are truly a "custom" shop that intimately understands the needs of our customers and caters to specific tastes and requirements (Jerry 2009). However, I think we can agree that the need to implement change is almost inevitable in today's business environment if an organization is to survive and grow. Your twenty–year tenure and expertise here at Karsten is not being overlooked. Your knowledge of your division's processes and team dynamics is both highly valued and appreciated. However, there are larger factors at work external competition, economic challenges, and advances in technology that have created a necessity for Karsten to rethink our strategies, apply greater creativity and cut operating costs. Bottom line: the time has come for additional support. The teams of external consultants and experts being brought in have provided business restructuring plans to numerous other companies. This ... • 2. Positive Changes For Today 's Students Positive Changes for Today 's Students Tekarra C. Powell Northcentral University Abstract Every school vision should lead to overall student achievement. As continuous pressure is placed on schools to prepare students to meet complex standards, it is vital that schools examine their effectiveness to educate students using high quality teaching methods. Because not all students learn the same, a "one size fits all" approach will not satisfy the needs of each student. With these challenges to improve academic proficiency, schools will need to make changes that will result in positive outcomes. In this paper, the author will discuss change in education. The author will also examine how change affects educators ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With this knowledge, plans for educational change will begin. Change in Education Every student deserves to learn and grow in an environment that encourages them to explore themselves, others, and the world around them. Every student deserves to be guided by well–trained educators that are committed to helping them to succeed. Knowing this, schools should strive to ensure that no matter how much pressure is placed on them to reach academic proficiency, they do not lose sight of individual student achievement. Change does not occur when staff members do not agree upon their school vision. This is why it is important for staff members to develop a vision that is shared between everyone. Once a vision is finalized, staff members must work together to see the vision. When staff members aim to work together to make productive change in their school, students benefit greatly. The Effects of Change Some educators are hesitant to the ideal of change for various reasons. Some educators believe that their current methods are effective and that no changes are needed. Others may believe that new ideals and trends are temporary and do not equal to lasting effects. One factor that is seen in schools is the lack of involvement that teachers have in deciding on what changes to implement. Teachers that work directly with students typically have a better understanding of what may

  • 4. Making a Positive Change in My Community We all have something close to our heart that could make a positive change in our community and possibly even our earth. I could make a positive change in my community by raising money through fundraisers to buy new, unused, cotton clothing (shoes, shirts, shorts), and by donating these needed clothing items to underprivileged children. Due to my many hours of work in the community soup kitchen it was brought to my attention that there is a need for more than food, there is a necessitate for clothing. I would hope to make sure no child goes unclothed. Namely I would do this because I feel that clothing is not a luxury but a necessity. When I disinterred that some children in poor countries and communities do not posse basic needs such as clothing, I was heart broken. This problem needs to be solved and I believe that this project/plan could, solve this dilemma or at least begin to resolve it. This obstacle is larger than most people realize because in our area clothing is taken as a luxury that everyone owns; but unlike previously thought it has been brought to my attention that many areas do not have access to this "luxury," and I do not believe that is right so if I was able to find a way to mend this issue, I would be willing. No human being should go without a clean pair of clothes, and I have a daring plan to fix that. If I were to implement this plan I am determined to start by brainstorming ideas for a good fundraiser for example a lemonade stand, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Building Effective Teams And Teamwork, And Leading... Group skills are comprised of 3 core aspects which are: empowering and engaging others, building effective teams and teamwork, and leading positive change. Each one of these core elements is very important in developing group skills and can always be improved if the proper approach is taken. Effective empowering and engagement is made up of 9 various dimensions. For example, personal mastery experiences, modeling, providing support, arousing positive emotions, providing information, providing resources, organizing teams, creating confidence, and delegating work are all dimensions making up effective empowerment and engagement. I received a 12 for all of the elements listed and a 60 for delegating work which gives me a sum score of 156, placing me in the high ability to empower others quartile. I agree with this score, because I like to help and give others the opportunities to shine and reach their potential. I like to think of myself as a self–less person and help others grow and reach their potential and accompany on my journey as well. Personal mastery experiences are experiences that give employees the confidence and ability to be successful at a particular assigned duty. Modeling is how the leader goes to serve as an example for empowering others. Providing support is the extent in which a leader helps employees feel empowered through help and insight. Arousing positive emotions is a way of circumventing issues of anxiety and fear. Providing information and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Depending on that work field you're in, it may be affected in the future because of the new advanced technology. Technology has only altered its way to work its performances, the roles that workers play in a firm's division of labor, and the way these changing roles alter the structure of organizations. Wilmington Delaware is a city where about 17,000 of its residents are living below the poverty level. Positive Change is an alternative school for children in 1st through 8th grade. Children are enrolled in this school usually due to behavioral issues. The goal is to equip the children with the appropriate resources to help reintegrate them all back into public, or private schooling systems. The room wasn't that clean, but I think everything was cluttered because the school was being transitioned for the upcoming school year. The school was quiet because it was only four people in the school at that time. I did not get to meet any of the students. I did get a glimpse of the library which is a small room but it is able to fit at least 6 computers and has shelves stocked with books. The condition of the school did not affect me, because I worked in a school that looked like this one before. This school had narrow stairways and hallways with low ceilings, but I am so ready to be done with school that I am unbothered. First of all, scientific advancements have made so many positive changes over time like the new food plate. • 10. Effective Leadership For A Positive Change Agent Effective leadership begins with the ability to be a positive change agent. This can be observed through the review of workplace changes at Wet n Wild Sydney in relation to Rosabeth Moss Kanter's paper 'Leadership for change: Enduring skills for change masters' (Kanter, 2005). The skills of a positive change agent are described in detail by Kanter and are vital to becoming a positive change master. There are three phases of change projects according to Kanter. The first phase, generating ideas, involves skills such as sensing needs and opportunities for change and using kaleidoscope thinking to assess all solutions to a problem 'by changing the angle on the kaleidoscope' (Kanter, 2005, p. 3). The second phase of a change project is trying to sell ideas, this is achieved through moulding ideas into a theme as well as enlisting the support of backers to help ensure the project can get moving. The third phase involves developing and implementing ideas. This is accomplished by developing the dream 'There are two parts of this job: team–building and team–nurturing' (Kanter, 2005, p. 9). It also crucial for a change agent to persist and preserve to get over any obstacles. The final critical skill of change project consists of celebrating accomplishments. The use of child labor went up during the industrial revolution. People needed to feel some newness in the 1900's. They were so used to restrictions. During the progressive era people fought to change issues such as racism, women not having rights and child labor. During this time colored people still had to use separate bathrooms from whites. There was a lot of segregation between black and white people. African Americans couldn't use the same water fountains either. Even in some restaurants they didn't let colored people in. • 12. Hunger In Laredo: A Positive Change A Positive Change Hunger... this affects an estimate of 13 million children in America and about 795 million people worldwide. Hunger is a severe crisis that has been continuously growing in many homes throughout our community. Children and families in Laredo are suffering from this epidemic and it is important to spread awareness to end it. Personally, I believe that when you help one person, you are one step closer to changing the world. As a human being, it is our duty to recognize the struggles our community faces and help people from our community surpass these problems. A way I would help with humanitarian efforts in our community is by volunteering and sharing the stories of the people whose lives were affected. Around our city of Laredo, in the county of Webb, we have many people that would go hungry if not identified. Many of these people in our community do not qualify for social services due to the family's being undocumented. It is the community's responsibility to educate and find these people who might otherwise go hungry. It is a challenge where our border community needs to help and provide the basic needs for children and families in our area. I would like to work hand in hand with local foodbanks and begin to expand a community garden which would provide vegetables to people in need of food. • 13. How Will The Frontier Be Affected By A Positive Change? Question One a.Why is the PPF concave to the origin? The production possibilities frontier is concave to the origin as it represents the increase opportunity goods along with the outputs of goods which is increasing. This is due to the law of opportunity goods – with one increase or production, an increase in opportunity costs follows (Layton, Robinson and Tucker, 2016). b.How will the frontier be affected by a positive change in technology for the product on the horizontal axis? The points represented on the production possibilities frontier represent the maxim outputs of each product (Layton, Robinson and Tucker, 2016. Elasticity is not confined to demand curves as the demand of a product consumed is not always related to the price of the item. For instance the demand of meat products may be high during holiday seasons, while the price is the same throughout the year and vice versa. b.The demand for a product is price elastic and the product 's price is decreased by X%. What might be the expected change in quantity demanded and revenue? If a product is price elastic and the price decrease this will result in more people purchasing the product and therefor the revenue will increase. This is because more people are going to purchase the product in higher quantities if they see it at a cheaper price. For instance supermarkets often promote price dropped items, at a new cheaper price, this means more people are likely to buy that brand of product as opposed another that is a higher price – resulting in a higher revenue for the product (Layton, Robinson and Tucker, 2016). Question Four a.Explain why profits are maximised when MR = MC. Profits are maximised when market revenue = market cost because the amount of product being produced is equal to the cost of producing the output. If marginal revenue was left then marginal cost, this would be the cost of producing the output was less than the revenue, causing the profit to lower (Layton, Robinson and Tucker, ... When researching these methods, the following study surfaced. Researchers evaluated the effects of behavioral skills training (BST) with in–situ training (IST) to teach safety skills to 4–7 year old children. The ten participants were evaluated when they found a gun, on their demonstration of safety skills. In order to prevent gun–play, the children were taught appropriate safety skills using modeling, rehearsal and feedback (Miltenberger, 65). In addition, simulated–situ training (SIT) and in–situ training were compared between all participants. Results of this study demonstrated that SIT and BST significantly less effective than in–situ training (IST) was found to be an effective training tool, and the skills acquired were generalized and maintained over months. It is essential to provide in–situ training to staff, as this is the best opportunity for skill development and feedback. • 18. Speak Positive Change How Positive Change is Derived From Negative Experiences In the life of a teenager, negative experiences are sometimes inevitable. As adolescents transition into young adults, there i's no doubt that they would sometimes feel down because of a few traumatizing experiences. These negative experiences could range from a whole variety of reasons. In fact, sometimes adolescents feels as if they have no control over the situation which is evident with the character Melinda in the book Speak. On the other hand, teens are sometimes subjected to very sudden harsh and traumatic changes in one's life which they have to cope with and learn from which can be seen with Andy and Shane in the book Skud. Along with that, there were and still are other teenage... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is evident in the novel Speak, since Melinda goes through a traumatizing school year with frequent bullying as well as a sexual assault. Not only is she able to pull through ultimately, she also accepts what happened and asserts that she is willing to learn from the experience. For instance, near the end of the book, Melinda asserts "IT happened. There is no avoiding IT, no forgetting. No running away, or flying, or burying or hiding. Andy Evans raped in August when I was drunk and too young to know what was happening. It wasn't my fault. And I'm not going to let it kill me. I can grow" (Anderson 198). Again, this quote greatly implies that Melinda has developed a growth mindset which has allowed her to move on from this traumatizing experience and she is essentially stating that she will not contemplate on the horrific incident endlessly but she will instead try to learn and acquire some insights after going through the frequent bullying and the assault. Melinda's experience is also extremely similar to Maddy's experience of being sexually assaulted in the book The Pain Eater. Maddy also contemplated on the horrific incident a lot throughout the book, but ultimately, she acknowledged that contemplating on the incident over and over will not change anything and she decided that it was time to stop this mental illness and learn to move on. Melinda also states "let's talk about it" (Anderson 198) towards her art teacher at the very end of the book when her art teacher inquired her about her school year. This passage reflects her growth mindset even more since this is strong evidence that Melinda is now willing to open up and talk about her troubles. Although Melinda suffered through a school year full of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. Positive Economic Changes Of Industrial Automation Essay Positive Economic Changes of Industrial Automation by 2036 When a sect of society is faced with the imminent reality that its lifestyle will be disrupted by the advent of the latest technology, there ensues a massive ideological regression to the status quo. Historically, polls showed an aversion to technology, with only 28% of adults labelling themselves as "early adopters" of technology (Pew Research). A low percentage of early adopters creates a "chasm" of technology adoption, reinforced by the dissent of a vocal minority of technology conservatives. This aversion to technology is not drawn on by rational, evidence–based conclusions, but rather, apocalyptic premonitions of the poorer livelihoods of average citizens. The common fear is that automation will kill jobs and create a high unemployment rate. Despite this hyperbolic scenario, the trope offers a starting point to analyze the scope of economic changes that would occur during a plausible future. The current 20 year period we live in (2016 to 2036) can be categorized as the genesis of capable, automated machines, which will be referred to as "CAMs," that can take on menial tasks currently done by humans. This does not cover highly intelligent AI, as they are too distant in the future to accurately predict, refer to Appendix A for more information. During this period, we will see a future in which CAMs are automated enough to perform menial tasks like burger flipping, cashiering, etc, and potentially even some ... These changes include educational opportunities, use of contraception, more public participation, and greater participation in the paid workforce. With the persistence of patriarchy, the presence of religion, and the current spotlight on the Middle East, life of Muslim women still remains invisible. It is valuable to explore the ways in which Muslim women explain their place in society today. Many feminist movements in Morocco parallel those in the western world and create several notable achievements on behalf of human and women's rights. At the political and social level, there are signs that conditions for women are changing. Social organizations, which encourage women's rights, are becoming more popular and influential. During the last part of the 19th century continuing through the 20th century women in well off classes had access to feminist ideas and developed the first period of feminism in Morocco. After the independence period of the 1940s the Moroccan palace created the "Feminism of State." Although more of a silent representation rather than an active transformer it paved way for more active forms of feminism in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1969 the National Union of Moroccan Women was created and the Moroccan Association of Familiar Planning began in 1971. So if you want to see real change, stay persistent in educating humanity on how similar we all are than different. Don't only strive to be the change you want to see in the world, but also help all those around you see the world through commonalities of the heart so that they would want to change with you. This is how humanity will evolve to become better. This is how you can change the world," says Suzy Kassem, the author of ВЁRise Up and Salute the Sun: The Writings of Suzy Kassem.ВЁ Although, how does one's mentality affect the way they change the world? It's simple: having a negative mindset will only change the world for the worse, while having a positive mindset will help change it for the better. You may wish for the world to change, and you may also have ideas on how to achieve that, but it all starts with you. Improving on one's character, mindset, attitude, and ambitions will help change the world into a better place. I believe that focusing on self–improvement does do more to change the world for that better than attempting to change the world. Having positive character traits plays a significant role for both self–improvement and bettering the world. Character development is important in literature, so of course it would be important on a more global perspective. For example, in a story, the protagonists always ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Making Positive Changes For Expectant Parents Within this essay, I will reflect on an event that I witnessed during clinical placement, focussing on the process of non–directed donation (RCOG, 2006) of umbilical cord blood via the onsite NHS Blood and Transport (NHSBT) team, as well as the related issue with the antenatal communication and subsequent consent to utilise the service. In order to maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council's Code of Conduct (NMC, 2008) and The Data Protection Act (1998), the hospital and the people involved in the event, (as well as those involved in subsequent conversations as a result) will not be referred to by name. I have used the Gibbs reflective cycle (Gibbs, 1988), and will be relating the event back to recent research and relevant hospital and governmental procedures wherever possible. As a result of this assignment, I have undertaken further research that will be outlined below, which I hope will assist in making positive changes for expectant parents in the future. Donation of umbilical cord blood is a trend that has grown in popularity in recent years, and is now offered on site at several NHS trust hospitals (RCOG, 2006). Despite this service being readily available to expectant parents within my placement hospital, it became clear during my second week that the relevant information regarding donation was not being provided soon enough in the antenatal period which would allow for an informed decision to be made as to whether or not ... The TED talks videos of Simon Sinek and Rosabeth Moss Kanter provided me with valuable information when it comes to inspiring others to follow your lead, as well as knowing the six important keys to leading positive change. From Simon Sinek's presentation, I learned that the best way to inspire others is by understanding how we lead and communicate with one another by focusing on what others can believe in. Sinek made it clear in his presentation that the "Golden Circle" of why, how, and what are what some organizations like Apple have mastered in inspired individuals to action. I tend to be very hard on myself when I am faced with an obstacle that I would consider a failure, but according to Kanter's Law is only considered a failure if you give up. It is important to remain engaged by pushing forward even if it takes longer than imagined because the mindset of not giving up is what Kanter considers a "hallmark of leaders". This is an important key is many of us, including myself, tend to forget that not everything in life is perfect so it is important for us to keeping working harder to reach our goals. Kanter's other key, which I believe is extremely important to implement in our lives to lead positive change is to lift other up. Although Columbus may have supposedly discovered America, Columbus day should not be a holiday due to the lack of achievement in the present day United States and cruelty that he showed to the Native Americans when he arrived in the Bahamas. While Columbus may have brought some change to the America's like the introduction of livestock like sheep and cattle, he really brought so many more devastating diseases like influenza, smallpox, and typhus. What positive change did the Native Americans really get to experience? How can natives experience this so called positive change that these foreigners are bringing over when they are wiping out the fellow Native Americans brothers, sisters, father, mother and leaders with diseases that the natives have no immunity to. Wiping a whole species out is definitely a change that Columbus brought to these innocent Native Americans but this deadly diseases were on the complete other end of the positive change spectrum. • 28. Positive And Negative Effects Of Technological Change Technological change is an increase in the efficiency of a process (usually done by a machine) which results in more output, but without input having been increased (Winston, n.d). A specific level of technological advancement is necessary for productivity and growth in the economy of a country. The absence of proper technological change retards the economic growth and technological change has impacted the world by creating new products and processes, increasing efficiency and lowering costs, and helping economies evolve. Structural unemployment is the situation when the jobs are available and workers are willing work, but they don't have the required job skills to qualify for the vacant positions or just simply the mismatch between the jobs available and the skill levels of the unemployed. Technological change may make some skills obsolete or require new ones. For example, the introduction of personal computers since the 1980s, has lowered demand for typists who lacked computer skills (Rittenberg & Tregarthen. 2012, p 216). Technological changes have negative effects on employment. It negatively affects the value the value of workers and automated processes and other technology have become more important to the process of increasing output. Even if people understood that food would still not get to people who need it because getting the food to the hungry and to shelters and the poor is not cheap for the suppliers and is actually cheaper for them to just throw it away. That might be the biggest issue of all because for businesses to donate food is very expensive, they have to box it, store it, coordinate delivery dates, and there's a lot of overheads, and you cannot blame most companies for trying to make ends meat. Companies are also not charities, which is why companies should be incentivized to donate food with tax breaks, large corporations already get one, charity's get them and it would increase the amount of food that's being donated exponentially. Especially for small companies because annoyingly small companies tax breaks are not a permanent part of the tax code. This means that Congress has to keep renewing it which is a problem, because family farms and local restaurants may not know if they're going to get that break and the end of the year. So donating food might not be financially viable for them. IT's a ridiculous system that prevents a lot of food from being donated. For most children and teens, the phrase conjures up images of hot, sunny days and vacations with the whole family to far–off places. We all envision lazy afternoons relaxing on the beach, playing in water parks, and going on picnics. But what happens whensummer ends and the reality of another year of school sinks in? A large portion of the knowledge gained during the last school year is lost over the long idle months and must be retaught for weeks, which wastes a lot of time that could be spent learning new material. This puts students behind in that year's curriculum, and over many summers, can add up to students being months or years behind where they would be if no learning was lost. There is a solution to this problem, however: year–round school. Year–round school provides many advantages for both students and adults over the traditional summer vacation schedule. The most important advantage of year–round school is that it helps students retain knowledge. Learning lost during the summer is a big problem. Proponents of year–round school assert that having shorter breaks would reduce learning loss because the students couldn't forget as much over a shorter period of time.
