Final reflections
1. Final Course Reflections
Jessica Thompson
Spanish class this semester has taught me not only new vocabulary but also the
grammatical aspects of the language. I learned about school routine, health/fitness,
house and chores, the body parts, daily routine, and indoor/outdoor activities. Looking
back at the class, there isn’t really one section that I enjoyed more than others.
However, I did not like learning about grammar because of the difficulty. The class was
really easy in the beginning and got progressively harder as the semester went on.
Although spanish class became difficult as it went on, it taught me that to really
know the language, you have to study vocabulary daily. From the beginning of the first
quarter to the end, I was really good about studying and learning the material. I went
through a period where I did not study and my grades dropped. By the end of the
semester I was back to studying daily and trying to bring my grades back up to where
they should be.
This semester, I enjoyed doing things to help me learn and memorize my
vocabulary. This that were memorable such as singing the body parts, helped me
enormously to remember that section. I also enjoyed working with a partner while
speaking the language. The partner recordings helped me learn to pronounce my
vocabulary and get used to how the language is spoken.
2. the vocabulary. In later languages that I choose to take, I will make sure to put a lot of
my time into grammar as well as vocabulary.
