Teaching Approach: The lesson is based on Krashen's Natural Approach and organized
under PPP as proposed by Jeremy Harmer.(Third Edition 2001)
Materials and resources: Images and sheets already provided.
Pedagogical use of ICT in class: Mini LED projector for images and player to listen to the
audio.
Seating Arrangement: Students will be seated in groups of two students as they usually
work in regular classes.
2. 2
Possible problems/difficulties and their possible solutions during class: Students
tend to talk if the class gets bored, so it is quite important to maintain their attention
activated trough the use of real context, clear L2 instructions, making the classroom
interactive with students and using the board for writing sentences.
Potential problems students may have with the language: They may have problems
with the meaning of some words, or remembering how to use them. So I will use
exemplification in order to help understanding. It is important to contextualize them so
students can enhance comprehension. Exemplification with the whole class may help them. I
will give them the possibility of asking about some meanings, but in a controlled way, using
some minutes, trying to avoid the use of dictionary.
Assessment: What will be assessed and how: understanding by listening to them and
correcting with examples related to the topic which is being worked when reading sentences
on the board. Comprehension will be assessed by correcting activities provided by the
teacher.
Procedures:
Routine: 3 minutes
Purpose: To greet students and let them know the class has started.
T: Hello everybody!! Sts: Hello teacher!! T: How are you today??!! Sts: We are doing fine!!
T: That is great!! Ok, let's start learning!!
Warm up: 25 minutes
Purpose: To contextualize the topic of the lesson and begin the class
Transition: I show students two pictures, one with the location and the other with the
characters from the listening activity.
T: Great, look at this place, do you know it?
Sts: Yes, it's a cinema!!
3. 3
T:Very good!! Cinema, a place where you go to watch movies. Do you like going to the
cinema? I love it!! Sts: Yes!!
Now look at these guys, they are Tamara and Mario. They are good friends and they are
going to the cinema.
They have to choose what film they will watch. What kind of movies do you prefer?
Sts: Action, love stories, thriller, suspense!! T: Great, I like suspense too!! One of my
favorite movies is Angels and Demons, look I have a picture of it!
Sts: Mine is ............... (Students will probably suggest their own tastes)
T: Excellent, now look at these images, what kind of movies do they represent?
T: Please, take a look at them and try to link each image to its name. Take one minute to
solve it.
4. 4
To control it, I will point at the image and will say the name they chose.
Transition: Let´s listen to short conversation between Tamara and Mario.
Presentation: 35 minutes
Purpose: To expose students to the target language and the previous work done.
T: Ok, while you are listening you will have to pay attention and answer four questions by
making a circle to the correct option. The first question is about which film will Tamara and
Mario watch, the second about the time the film starts and the third about the time they will
meet before the film. (I will try to help them with this because I´ve seen it's difficult for
them and even this represents an impossibility to solve the task. Asking to the whole group
and encouraging them to help each other is a good way to enhance comprehension)
Which film are Tamara and Mario going to see?
Mr and Mrs Jones - War Games - Robot 2075 - King Robert - Forever - Midnight Moon
What time does the film they want to see start?
12.00 pm - 2:30 pm - 5:20 pm - 7:00 pm - 7:15 pm 7:30 pm
What time are Tamara and Mario going to meet?
12.00 pm - 2:30 pm - 5:20 pm - 7:00 pm - 7:15 pm 7:30 pm

what they did)

Development 15 minutes
Activity 1 10 minutes
The idea here is to check students' answers and make them to read out loud.
T:Ok, while we check your answers, let's play-role the dialogue. For doing so, I need some
couples to read out loud. Take one minute to organize yourselves and you will read one line
each, so all of you have the opportunity to practice. (The idea is most students can read out
loud)
6. 6
Activity 2 5 minutes
T: Now, pay attention to this image where you can see name of the movie, time, genre and a
brief description of each one. Based on this, please create a very short dialogue looking at
the previous one. For example: (I will use the teacher as a partner)
Dario: Hi Lucia, do you want to go to the cinema?
Lucia: Hi Dario, yes I do!! What do you want to see?
Dario: I like science fiction movies, so I want to see Robot 2075. It's today at 4:15.

Closure: 2 minutes
Purpose: Here I tell students the class has finished.
T: Ok, here we stop. See you next class!!!
