1. Artist Image Manipulation
I startedwiththisimage,afterloadingitintoAdobe Photoshop.Ineeedtogetridof the background,
so itcouldbe placedintomyFront Coverwithoutcontrastingagainstthe coloursused.
In orderto getrid of the backgroundI usedthe Magic Eraser tool. Thisallowedme toquicklyand
effectivelyremovelarge partsof the background,whichconsistedof the same colours.

2. Afterremovingthe largerpartsof background,I hadto use the original rubberinordertoremove
the individual-colouredpieces.Inordertodothis,I made the rubbersize become 110 afterentering
the settings.
Afterremovingthe background,IusedHue/Saturationtomake mysubjectsskinlooklighterand
reveredthe lightnessatthe same time – thusmakinghimstand outand contrast againstthe new
dark backgroundI wasplanningonusing.

3. Thisis myfinal product,complete withthe image afterithasbeenplacedagainstthe dark
background. I have croppedthe image,placeditontothe backgroundandthenaddedtext,
alongside the magazine’sMastheadandothertitlesaccordingly.Ialsoarrangedthissoit matched
the rulesof Guttenburg’sdesignprinciple,whichvalidatesthe strongestoptical areas.
