• Digital exclusion is the inability to access online products or
services or to use simple forms of digital technology
• This makes it difficult to access necessary information and services
• In some cases this can contribute to loneliness and isolation
• It can also leave people financially worse off and/or less likely to
find work

5. What is a Digital Champion?
• Someone who is trained to help others to
use technology and get the most out of
being online
• They help a wide range of people to build
their confidence and skills
• Does not need to be an IT whizz. While it
helps to have basic computer skills, the
main criteria is a willingness to help others

7. How does it work?
• Use your voluntary days – this can be
split up over several sessions
• Meet learners for one to one sessions
in the office or help at events and
drop-in sessions
• Provide support tailored to the
individual

• You will become part of the Digital
Champions Network
• The online portal includes training,
discussion forums, session plans and
templates, practical support and advice and
a host of useful links, videos and guides
• The Community Partnerships Team are
here to support you
