- is located within the Central Cordillera
Mountain Range of Luzon.
- is created through Executive Order Number
220 issued in 1987 by Pres. Corazon C. Aquino.
- is home to native tribes collectively known as
“Igorot”
4. Location and Topography
- CAR is located at the central part of Northern
Luzon.
- It is consist of the provinces of Abra, Apayao,
Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain
Province.
5. Climate
- CAR boosts of its cool and relaxing climate
which is due mainly to its elevated location.
6. Resources, Products, and
Industries
- Farming is the main industry of the region.
- Some people in the region engage in mining.
- House industries such as woodcarving,
weaving, pottery, and making rattan are also
main sources of livelihood of some people and
CAR.
7. People and Culture
- Cordillera is home to the many
groups of people living in the
mountain areas.
- collectively known as “Igorot” which
means people of the mountain.
- Various tribes have rich cultures and
oral traditions and many of their
practices have survived to the present
