Political ideologies refer to a logical set of ideas that
contain an assessment of the present system and a
definite plan of action by which a better future can be
attained by society.
Political ideologies serve as framework through which
governments are established and laws and policies of a
country are created. Political leaders tend to decide on
pressing issues on the basis of their individual and
political party’s ideology. Hence, understanding the
direction and values of each political ideology relative to
their placement in the political spectrum is important.

17. Power is the ability to move the body parts swiftly
while applying the maximum force of the muscles.
Power is a combination of both speed and muscular
strength.
For example: punching in boxing and kicking for
taekwondo
18. In the field of politics, power refers to a person’s ability
to exercise control or impose restrictions over other
individuals. It is also viewed as the compulsion over
these people for them to perform certain tasks, which in
ordinary circumstances, they would not do. Power is
tied to the concept of authority, which is the right to
exercise power in society.
19. Power is the ability to get someone to do
something he/she wants to accomplish, thus
making things happen in the way he/she wants. In
having such ability, along with the exercise of
power is an influence, Thus influence is the
process by which a person affects the behavior
and feeling of another person, in order to
influence a person there must be an “authority”
which is the right to change another person.
20. When studying politics, the concept of
power is crucial in helping us develop
perspectives on how those who govern and
the governed interact in the political
system. Power is a significant component in
the study of social relationships and
dynamics because individuals who exercise
varying degrees of power and their
subjects altogether comprise our society.

Have a group arrive at a ‘hugot line’ or ‘pick up line’ about the concept of POWER.

Create a 2 stanza poem,considering the present situation of our country, how would
you describe the nature of power exercised by our leaders?(you may use mother
tongue in expressing your poem)

Make an editorial cartoon regarding the issue of exercise of power of your officials
in your community.
