1. INDUCTION DAY REPORT
Dr. D Y PATIL Institute of Management& Research hosted itsinduction day programme
on 27th August, 2012 at Kalasagar Hotel, Pimpari. The meet saw the participation of
several industry stalwarts from the field of HR who shared their first hand knowledge
and experience with the audience. The focal theme of the meet was a very topical
theme titled “Induction Day Programme”. Eminent speakers from various industries
dwelt at length on various issues and challenges relating to this central theme.
Mr. Harish Honward, GM, Persistent delivered an enlightening and inspiring keynote
address. He was welcomed by Prof Sirigiriwar, Director of DYPIMR. He gives us
knowledge about what are different aspect required by student who are entering in
industry, he also gives brief about how to be stress free while working in group or team.
The first session was built around the theme “Corporate Expectations” and the speakers
participating in this session discussed adopting effective employer branding measures,
engaging in open & transparent communication, using technology, social media & job
portals and also gives funda’s for success like bigger dream , high ambition ,deeper
commitment ,great effort and also he empower student role while they are learning. The
panelists cited instances from their organizations in this regard which indicated how
serious the organizations are towards the issue of attracting the gen-next.
The panelists for this session included Ajit Tawade, CEO and Centre of Inspired
Learning India. He was facilated by Mr. R K Jain, Director, Dr. D Y Patil college of
Engineering, Pimpari.
The second session focused on “Seven Habits for students” wherein the panelists
highlighted the skills, attitude and recognition practices. They are also stressed on
continuous development, new ways of career planning, coaching & mentoring, and
devising innovative motivational practices. In this session also the panelists cited
practical measures that they are employing with a view to retain the gen-next.
2. The panelists for this session included Shyam Bhagwat, Sectary. He was facilated by
Dr. S. G Tillu, Director, Dr. D Y Patil college of Engineering, Pimpari.
The last session focused on “Corporate Expectations” wherein the panelists highlighted
the corporate, present market situation, customer expectation, corporate promise, how
to deliver people, what to deliver, Expectations from new gen manager’s. They are also
stressed on continuous development, new ways of career planning, coaching &
mentoring, and devising innovative motivational practices. In this session also the
panelists cited practical measures that they are employing with a view to retain the gen-
next.
The panelists for this session included R N Nalbar, Heard HR, Tata Group. He was
facilated by Dr. Rane, Professor, Dr. D Y Patil college of Engineering, Pimpari.
The audience for this meet includes students, faculty & staff of DYPMR as well as
several industry delegates who felt that the meet generated tremendous learning and
they whole-heartedly expressed their wide appreciation of the proceedings.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Meghana Bhilare,
Convener of DYIMPR. She thanked all the panelists and the audience and highlighted
the need for more of such events.
