(Ask Volunteer from your children to stand beside you),
Question: Can you read the mind of this child beside me? (wait for
them to respond). We can only guess by observing his/her actions or
behavior BUT we can never read the thoughts of other people.
But God can.
Lesson:
Jesus said to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and
with all your mind, ok so how can we love God with all our mind?
Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:8 is
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is
anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (emphasize the word THINK)

Finally, Beloved (Philippians 4:8) – Tutorial
Paul understand how important are the things that we put in our mind.
Because whatever thoughts/ideas/plans that we CHOOSE to put, or fill our mind
with, it affects our emotions and actions.
For example we CHOOSE to think happy thoughts (give a minute for your
children to think happy thoughts), how does our face reacts, we smile right?! But
what if we try to think and remember at one point we were hurt by our parents or
friends, how does our face look like or how do we feel? Children, we have a
choice what we can think of or think about but I pray that we will CHOOSE Jesus,
6. think about Jesus (think about His love, think about every blessings you have
received, think about how faithful He provides our needs, think about how Jesus
has forgiven us, etc. by doing that, you starting to think whatever is TRUE,
HONORABLE (admirable/good), PURE, LOVELY, COMMENDABLE (Worthy), If
there is any EXCELLENCE (brilliance), it will just fill your thoughts as you
CHOOSE to think about Jesus for He alone can cleanse our bad thoughts.
Sometimes our day is not so happy as we thought it should be, sometimes we
feel alone or rejected… remind yourself about Philippians 4:8 and one by one fill
your thoughts about His word or promises.
For the next 6 weeks, we will train together out thoughts to “CHOOSE” to think
about JESUS!
• Show this short video or you can do it as your illustration that Jesus alone
can cleanse our thoughts.
