To Whom It May Concern:
As a Teacher at the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford,
Connecticut, I have had the pleasure of working with Jill Warren who
was a teacher aide in my classroom last school year. Currently I still
interact with Jill regularly when her student attends my class for
various lessons and activities. I would like to take this opportunity to
recommend her for a position in your educational program.
Jill was assigned as a teacher’s aide and One-on-One in the Preschool
and Kindergarten classroom with students who demonstrate a wide
variety of communication skills and learning abilities. Jill’s direct
assignment was working with a student who has multiple disabilities
including hearing loss, visual impairment, mobility limitation and
feeding restrictions. Jill worked closely with the classroom teacher and
other support staff to make sure she provided the necessary care and
modification to meet the student needs. She established a positive
rapport with the student, while challenging her and providing positive
reinforcement. When unsure, Jill did not hesitate to seek out staff
members who could help clarify a child’s need or questions with a
lesson. She sought out and accepted feedback from other staff
members and immediately applied suggestions.
When Jill was not working directly with her student, she was a great
asset to the classroom teacher. Jill is creative and organized. She is
very willing to help the classroom teacher with anything that is asked,
from preparing classroom materials, assisting other students with their
needs or teaching small group lessons and activities. She uses her
past teaching experience to implement fun lessons or provide valuable
input or suggestions to the teacher.
Jill would be an asset to your staff and I recommend her to your
educational program. If you have any further questions with regards
to Jill’s background or qualifications, please do not hesitate to contact
me at Rebecca.peters@asd-1817.org or 860-570-2399.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Peters
