Change agents are individuals inside or outside an organization who help the organization transform and improve its effectiveness. Change agents initiate changes to increase organizational effectiveness. They work to change an organization's structure, technology, and people. External change agents are usually behavioral scientists who work as consultants, while internal change agents are selected from within the organization and work under the framework devised by external agents. Effective change agents have diagnostic skills, behavioral skills, positive attitudes, and personal qualities to provide support during change efforts.
