1. If I wasto geta jobin the MediaIndustrythenI wouldlike
to start off withan easyjobsuch as a runnerfor the BBC.
A runnerhas a bigresponsibilityastheyhave certainroles
such as; lookingaftercastand crew,organisingprops,
deliveringtechnical equipmentandalsomakingsure
everyone ishydratedandwell fed.These roleshave tobe
done rapidlyinorderto make sure the show is on
schedule.Forarunneryou wouldhave tohave a lot of
patience incase somethinggoeswrongwhichisverylikely tohappen;if looking afterthe
cast you have to make sure theyat the right place at the righttime such as hairand make-up
if not thenthe showcouldoverrun overschedule.
2. AnotherjobI wouldbe interestedinwouldbe ITV insightwhichhelps
experiencedorunexperiencedindividualstolearnnew skillsandmore aboutthe
daysof ITV.Thiscan alsohelpindividualswhoare lookingtoupgrade toa betterjob
inthe mediaindustryinthe future;suchasmyself.However,the opportunityis
onlyaimedat18 yearoldsand overso school leaversandfirstyearcollege students
wouldn’tbe able toforthisjob.
3. Anotherjobrole thatinterestsme withinthe mediasectoris
becomingaresearcherfortelevisionprogrammessuchasfor
documentariesorchatshows.A researcherdevelops
programme ideas andhas to have an understandingof
certainrequirementswithintheirresearch.Theyalsohave
to write scriptsforon screenpresenterssuchaschat show
hoste.g.JonathonRoss. Theyidentifyrelevantdata,
contributors,locationsorarchive material,collatingand
assessinginformationfromvarioussources,andensuringthatlegal,complianceand
copyrightrequirementsare met. Thisrole doesnotrequire aqualificationhowever,adegree
ina mediarelated,dramaorspecialistsubjectmayhelpyougetthe jobas well someone
whodoesn’tbutthismay notalwaysbe the case.
4. Lastly,my biggestaspirationwouldbe tobecome ajournalistfora
publishingcompanysuchasa magazine ornewspapercompany. Newspaper
journalistsinvestigate andwrite upstoriesforlocal,regional andnational
newspapers. Tobecome ajournalistyouhave tobe persistent,determined
and have an enquiringmind.Also,youmustbe able toenjoyresearching
and investigatingforyourstoryyourself. Iwouldlike todothisjobbecause I
wouldlearnnew skillsandIcan expressmyself inmywritingaboutacertain
topicsuch as reality.
