Key Club Candidate
What makes me a qualified candidate is that I am hard–working, persistent, and passionate about
what I do. If I start something, I will not stop until it is complete, and done to the best of my
abilities. Not only am I passionate about Key Club, I consider myself a very outgoing and caring
person, and not afraid to help motivate more reserved or hesitant members to join in on events, and
overall become more comfortable around the officers, and their fellow Key clubbers. When I first
joined Key Club, I was hesitant to do any events because I had no friends that were interested in
doing them with me. As a result of my shyness, I missed out on a lot of great events my freshmen
year, and I do not want anyone else to feel that they can not fit in, or feel like they're going to be left
out. I plan on taking A.P Calculus AB,and A.P psychology my junior year. The rest of my classes are
pretty standard, Spanish 3, English 3, Physics, and U.S history. At the moment, I do not intend to do
any other extracurricular activities other than Key Club next year. I want to mainly focus on Key
Club due to it being something I am really passionate about, and understand that it deserves my
absolute attention. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I do not want our Key Clubbers to be constantly given the same type of events that do not interest
them, or different versions of older events, like races. I want to draw in events that will interest our
Key Clubbers and help them grow as a person as well as helping people. I think that acquiring more
events that show more different cultures, and sides of our community, will help our Key Clubbers
feel more motivated and passionate about what they do. I also plan to make sure each event does not
have an overfill of volunteers. Some events that I have gone to, seem to have too many volunteers,
and a lot of volunteers who want to help, do not get the opportunity

Cross Country Running Persuasive Speech
Running has always been a passion of mine, along the way it has helped me overcome and push
towards my goals in life. My cross country and track teams have become more like a family, than a
team. We win together, and we lose together. Becoming the distance runner I am today has allowed
me to have a purpose in life and to always try to be the best that I can. Not only do I participate in
cross country running and outdoor track, however, I spend the whole year in training. I also
participate in soccer in the fall and cross–country skiing in the winter. Summers are not a "rest", in
the summer I work two jobs which are approximate to about a fifty hour work week. On top of that,
I spend the summer competing in cycling and long distance races such as the Black Fly Challenge
held in the Adirondacks and the Boilermaker in Utica, NY. I enjoy physical exercise because it
pushes me to do my best throughout everything I do. Being a non–stop athlete has allowed me to
push towards my goals and determine where my limits are in life. I enjoy running in general whether
its a light jog with my sister or the state qualifier in track. Competing in races and meets brings a
rush to my legs, my mind, and my heart. Cross country has allowed me to admire the beauty of the
wilderness along with the rush that running brings me. The most successful event that my school has
witnessed for girls is the 4x800 meter relay. I have the privilege to be a part of this 4 women team,

Key Club Narrative
Since I was born, I have grown up in a home where serving is a key virtue to live by. So as I
budding freshman, I was excited to join the service clubs at my high school. However, when I saw
the clubs my school offered, I was surprised to find out that there were not any service clubs for me
to participate in. As a girl with a passion, I realized something needed to be done. So I gathered
some friends and we decided to start a service club at our school. One of my friends suggested that
we charter a Key Club, an international high school service club that she had at her past high school.
To get chartered, we had to get support from the school and the local community. We had to obtain a
sponsorship from a local Kiwanis club. It can be hard for adults to take teenagers seriously but with
firm persistence we prevailed and as a unit, we successfully chartered a Key Club chapter, which

Then an idea became clear. That year, a security guard at our school was diagnosed with cancer.
Everyone in our school felt the loss of his presence. We decided to set up a fundraiser to raise money
for his surgery. We premiered High School Musical 2 for students to watch and charged a small
entry fee of $1.00. The fellow club officers worked together to try and figure out how to effectively
host a fundraiser. We divided the members up into groups. Some of them collected ticket sales,
others help set up the movie in the auditorium, and others sold treats at the screening. That night we
raised over $600 for the security guard from donations and entrance fee costs. Seeing the smile and
respect he had for us wanting to help him made me thankful that I could be a part of something that
made his life easier. Successfully fundraising for the security guard was one of the most rewarding
moments I have had while leading Key

Key Club Observation Report
In High school, I was in the organization called Key Club for four years. Our goal in Key Club is to
help the less privileged as much as we can. Accordingly, members of Key Club would meet every
Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. When we would meet, we did things that contributed to the
community. For example, one time we wrote thank you letters to people in the military who were
overseas. Doing this showed them that we cared and that we appreciate them for risking their lives
for us. Another thing we did was to go around neighborhoods to collect can foods for the homeless.
As a result of the experienced I gained from Key club, it has influenced me to explore different
organization at Virginia Commonwealth University. For instance, I am in

Why Is Key Club Important To The Community
Key Club is a way to ameliorate communities around the world. Through different events, activities,
and projects we are instilling hope in society, and consequently, improving it. James. E Taylor Key
Club has dedicated numerous hours to our local area throughout the years. We are constantly
dedicating more and more hours as time progresses and as our club size increases. Key Club does
not only help better communities, but it also aids in the development of good character, and
leadership abilities. While helping others and yourself, Key Club is also a way to meet extraordinary
people, who could potentially end up being your life–long friend. Key Club is a way to interact with
different people and unite to help those in need. Something that

Personal Narrative: Key Club
One of my biggest struggles I deal with everyday is that I feel like I'm one of the few people who
actually does things from the heart. I don't do something because someone told me it was a good
idea or because I'll look good to other people. I can provide you with plenty of examples to clarify
this and the easiest example I can think of would be school. I bet that 75% of high school students
only go to classes because it's federal law. Most of them (including me at one point) go there to just
memorize stuff and try to make our parents happy with decent grades. Rarley, would you get a kid
like me who attends class to learn about a variety of topics and actually retain the information. Even
though many of my classes incoporate topics I won't ever use (or take the ... Show more content on

Because the way one grows is based on one's ever expanding knowledge and experience. Both are
vital to percieving the world in new and intricate ways. Anyways, I'm getting to philosophical and
offtopic. Volunteering provides excellent leadership skills, as long as everybody actually tries. I'm
part of Key Club which basically is a club that offer oppurtunities to volunteer at different events
around Vegas. There's two types of events to choose from: independent or group. I try to stick to
independent because I prefer to work alone (don't get me wrong, I want to work on fixing that) and
because when I'm in a group, some members don't put their heart into it. I honestly feel like if you
are willing to donate your time, then make it worth it and give it your 100%. Many volunteers don't
share my views. The slackers, as I like to call them, do the bare minimum and act like they don't
want to be there. I no longer let people's lack of effort affect me anymore though, I use it as a
learning experience to not let those around you affect you. In addition, I always try to be
encouraging towards the slackers and motivate them to improve (but I don't over do it and come off

Mark Keppel Key Club Is Flourishing
As of today, which community considered flourishing and what is presented in showing the
flourishing? Before we get to choose which community affected, we as readers have to define
flourishing. In Phelps definition of flourishing he quotes that, "human flourishing requires
challenges, struggles, and success that goes beyond the material of prosperity." (Friedman quoted in
Liberty of Economics and Liberty) Phelps describes flourishing as prosperity in two components.
Phelps first component is growth in wages and productivity. Phelps second component is
flourishing. Phelps defines the term of flourishing in his words as prosperity, innovation, creativity
because the essence of "flourishing", human–beings are desired in expressing ... Show more content

Another example that Mark Keppel Key Club did participated in gift–wrapping presents before the
Christmas holiday to families that could not afford it. Phelps states community in the past decades
has not flourished is not true because all ideas created by human beings are filled with creativity and
innovation. In Franklin D. Roosevelt inaugural address, he stated that, "Happiness lies not in the
mere possession of money, but lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort."
(Roosevelt quoted in Friedman 1) Roosevelt says that the importance of work is joy and moral
stimulation should not be forgotten in the replacement of money profits. Even though our
government went through these challenges, struggles and success, Mark Keppel Key Club still
managed to improve and find other solutions in achieving the goal to keep on the right path.
Motivation plays a role in "flourishing" of any community because without flourishing people
would not put that much effort in achieving what they want. A community with motivation can
benefit the club as well as yourself because it will encourage others to try new things. Motivation
helps Mark Keppel Key Club by encouraging others to make a change in showing those who are
suffering that you care. Motivation is important to Mark Keppel Key Club because it makes the club
stronger, including showing them how strong they are and encourage them to fight for the better and

Growing up as the child of immigrants, the concept of the American Dream has been instilled in
mind since childhood. I have been told time and time again to get good grades, go to college and
pursue a respectable career. My parents came to America fully aware that they may not achieve their
dreams, but they struggle and work tirelessly in order to insure I have a chance to achieve the
Dream. There is a tremendous moral duty I have to validate their endless efforts they have made for
my success. With this responsibility, there is a great deal of pressure to map out an ideal future. Over

Starting from Girl Scouts to CJSF, my early love for aiding others quickly developed. However, my
most pivotal service experience is my involvement in Key Club. As I became further involved in
this organization, the thought of advancing my role by becoming an officer became very persistent
in my mind. Being extremely shy and withdrawn, the idea of being a leader was incredibly
intimidating to even fathom. Despite my shyness and anxiety causing me to doubt myself, my love
for serving others outweighed any uncertainty I had in myself. After a daunting speech and election
process, I gladly accepted the challenge of a club secretary, which has given me the opportunity to
not only serve my community, but the members of my club. My experience as a Key Club officer
has enriched my perception of myself and widened my range to serve. It has taught me to take risks
and step out of my comfort zone in order to pursue my passions. Key Club has served as a platform
for me to become more engrossed in my community and lead me to consider careers in which I can

The Pros And Cons Of Public Forums
The auditorium should be treated not as a limited public forum, but instead as a designated public
forum. First, the difference between the four distinct forums in which speech is regulated must be
established. The Cornelius Court established the first three forums. Cornelius v. NAACP Legal Def.

As advocated in the Lamb argument, because of the many similarities that the group shares it is
clear that the district has opened the School up to a wide variety of communicative purposes. The
amount of examples the Church can offer, or the amount of exceptions the School can make is
immaterial. What matters is that the Church shares traits with accepted groups; therefore the School
does not have a valid reason to maintain a limited public forum. This makes the School a designated
public forum. Now the same rules that govern traditional public forums

Hi, Ms. Hitchens!
I'm President of Chatfield's Key Club. At our last officer meeting, my fellow officers expressed
interest in setting up a booth for the bonfire to raise both awareness and money for the Eliminate
project. I'm extremely passionate about this project and can go on a rant about it, but I'll try my
absolute hardest to give you a quick little summary:
The Eliminate project is our main service project that Key Club International is focusing on this
year, and we have been dedicated to this project since it began five years ago. Kiwanis (who
sponsors Key Club) and UNICEF formed a partnership to eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus
(MNT) from the face of the planet. Primarily in countries with poor birthing conditions, tetanus
spores (found in soil everywhere) may infect open wounds, infecting the umbilical cord and causing
the newborn to contract MNT. Known to be the seven–day death, the baby suffers from excruciating
convulsions and an extreme sensitivity to light, sound, and touch, preventing even a mother's
comfort. Every eleven minutes, a newborn dies from MNT. However, it only costs $1.80 to provide
the necessary vaccination that will protect a mother and all of her future children, saving a family
from being torn apart. Great progress has been made already. Key Club has helped Kiwanis and

I am Abbey Nelson and I am interested in the position of Secretary/Treasurer of Key Club. To me,
being apart of Key Club at Shadow Mountain High School is better than just any other club, it
fulfills both my need to be apart of my community and my want to help others in any way possible.
Serving my school and community is important to me, as it should be to others, because our
generation is crafting this community for the future, our future. Any way that I am able to make a
change in how our school looks and feels to be apart of and any way that our community can feel
overall more exceptional, even if it is just a small way, will make this a better place in the future.
This is just one example of why being the Secretary/Treasurer of this club in the 2016–2017 school

passion for helping others and Key club represented the perfect opportunity to express that. After my

I Want To Join Key Club
Author and Princeton history professor Kevin Kruse once said, "Life isn't about getting and having,
it's about giving and being." These thoughtful words have continually kept me on the path of caring
for others. Having this attitude has helped me to solidify my future goals, and being an active
member and president of my school's Key Club are largely to thank for this as well. Surrounding
myself with like–minded students and faculty members has ultimately encouraged me to pursue a
career in counseling.
I have made lasting connections that would not have been possible without making the decision to
join Key Club during my first year of high school. I met people with the same heart that I have;
people who inspire me to make a positive change

Personal Narrative: Key Club International
Key Club International is a Kiwanis International sponsored organization open to high school
students nationwide who wish to serve their communities while developing the self–awareness,
self–management, social awareness, responsible decision–making and relationship skills that are the
foundation for becoming an active citizen. During my freshman year I was introduced to the
organization and, upon learning its guiding principles, made the decision to join.
Given the diverse nature of my community, I had the opportunity to volunteer with people from a
variety of racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. For instance, I mentored a fourth grader
who was experiencing behavioral problems in the classroom, having trouble with his schoolwork

Key Club International: A Case Study
This past year of serving the New Jersey District of Key Club International has allowed me the
distinct honor of serving with Lieutenant Governor Eileen Zhu. Eileen's level of communication is
off the charts, unafraid of reaching out to any executive officer with questions or concerns.
Personally, I have had the pleasure of being on the receiving end of multiple phone calls. This
outstanding amount of communication shows a dedication towards her work as not only Lieutenant
Governor of Division 11 but also her work as a Committee Chairperson and committee member. A
conscientious member of the District Board, Eileen has made a point to go above and beyond the
requirements of her service agreement. Becoming friends with many of her officers,

Key Club National Honor Society
As I worked my way through middle school, I would have never imagined that I would be as
involved as I am today. From academic clubs like Science Olympiad and Robotics to service clubs
like National Honor Society, Student Council and Key Club, my involvement in extracurriculars has
been a positive challenge in a variety of ways. Key club in particular has pushed me to improve my
community, expand my social life and prepare me for my future after high school. Like other service
clubs, Key Club offers a variety of activities that gives us members plenty to choose from. These are
opportunities that many students would participate in but are disoriented as to where to look; Key
club facilitates this search. Volunteer activities such as Blood Drive, Humane Society and school
clean ups have made me realize that there are endless possibilities to help out my community. Blood
drive will help save individuals on the verge of life and death. Humane Society will provide care for
animals that have reached a point of learned helplessness. School clean ups has kept our facility a
symbol of pride. Knowing I saved a life, helped the helpless, and made my school a better place
brings me pride beyond that of any materialistic thing. Standing up with fellow Key Club members

Joining a club blind of who else was joining challenged me to interact and develop relationships
with people who would have otherwise been strangers to me. This helped improve the quality of the
High School experience of others and myself as it helped form bonds that will continue post–
graduation. Participating in activities with these new friends from Key Club has made me a better
person because these relationships have acted as training wheel in the process of associating
servitude with fun. Most importantly though, the expansion of my social life through Key Club has

Key Club History
Seven students from NEST+m participated in the 2016 New York District Key Club (NYDKC)
Leadership Training Conference (LTC) in Albany. All seven said they had a great time at the event.
Kevin Hom, the 2015–2016 Key Club (KC) president, even brought home an award for
Distinguished Key Club President for his hard work and dedication to KC. NEST+m brought home
two other awards. The trip was part of an annual KC event where more than 800 key clubbers
gathered from NY for three days to hear an outstanding keynote speaker, attend workshops, take part
in networking events, participate in officer elections, and enjoy tons of social opportunities. Not to
mention the great hotel and the amazing buffet! The club advisor, Ms. Lee, along with Mr. Yusah
chaperoned the event and both said they had a blast. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Key Club Research Paper
Key club has positively impacted the social, moral, and academic aspects of my life. I've
encountered new friends, received countless smiles, and gained priceless experiences from attending
events. This club has genuinely changed my high school experience for the better. I cannot simply
describe in words how thankful I am for this club and for the officers who keep it running. As a
proud key clubber of one and a half years, I've developed an ambition to lead Key Club by using my
past experiences and the voices of my peers. I desire to become a Key Club officer who genuinely
hopes to improve Key Club and strive to make a place where everyone can have fun while feeling

As an extreme perfectionist, I always have a hard time abandoning plans that eventually won't work
out. If I don't understand something, I will sit down and will absolutely not get up until I get it.
Although this may seem good, I tend to waste a lot of time trying to figure out something that is
either pointless or impossible to comprehend. I want to translate these actions into something where
I can be persistent, but to a certain extent. I believe that if I can work on limiting my stubbornness, I
can translate it into helping our club. I am also not a good people person; however, I'm constantly
trying to put myself out there and live life dangerously!
Lastly, I joined Key Club because my interest to expose myself to the community and help people
out. My older sister's genuinely enjoyed being in Key Club and they highly encouraged me to join.
I'm so glad I became a key clubber, and I am still a current and passionate member because I truly
enjoy helping out our community. I love to be around with my friend and to meet new people in our
community–people with different personalities and backgrounds. Every event is like an adventure,
where I can also make people happy and help people

One experience I have had in high school is to be Vice–President of Key Club, a volunteering club.
Through Key Club, I discovered that I have a passion for volunteering and helping out those who
are less fortunate than I am in hopes of helping them live a better life. As Vice–President, I get to
share my love for helping others in my community with my fellow peers in hopes of inspiring them
to help others as well. This has led me to realize that I want to ensure that I will continue to
participate in my community and that I want to be a part of Engineers Without Borders in college.
This would allow me to apply what I will be learning through my major of engineering to provide
solutions to problems in communities all around the world. Being

Key Club Key Club the motto is "Caring––Our Way of Life" what that means is caring for others
and helping others less fortunate than ourselves. Caring and serving others something that I have
always been passionate about doing. If I were selected to become a member of Key Club I would
design a service project that would help all students get involved with serving the community. My
service project that I would design would be entitled "Nights of Poverty". As teenagers we all enjoy
going out with our friends and eating dinner and hanging out. On Friday or Saturday nights I would
design a project to where instead of going out with friends to eat we would all come together as a
school for dinner and donate money to another city school to assist

month for Victoria, articles required of every officer, and an example of an article with the format
completely explained. Editor Victoria Reynolds explained that each officer should turn in an article
to her each month regarding what we did for the month. Next, Lieutenant Governor Jiya Willis

Key Club Participation In High School
In High School, I was involved in Key Club for 4 years. To be honest, when I first heard of Key
Club I thought it was just an organization that collected "keys". So I decided to go to the first
meeting where I learned that Key Club members actually gave back to the community by being
actively involved in community events and organizing service projects. During my junior year of
high school, I served as the Secretary of the club. As Secretary, I compiled the number of hours that
each of the 150+ members served each month at various events. Over the year, I realized that while
our club was large, only a small group of members were active and attended the service events. In
order to take more action, during my senior year, I became President and

Persuasive Essay On Community Service
Every Sunday, I have the opportunity to help as a child care worker in my church's nursery; and
every week, after spending just one hour watching over the kids so that their parents can go to
service and not have to worry about their children, I remember exactly why I spend my free time
helping others. The term "Noblesse Oblige" is why I choose to be involved in multiple childcare
opportunities and community service clubs. I believe it is my job to make sure those who are less
fortunate, or in need of aid, get the help they require and deserve. I take part in different aspects of
community service because it helps better my community and makes me a stronger leader.
For the past three years at Liberty High School, I have been a member of the Key Club community
service organization. As a member of this club, I am able to help with different jobs around the
community that help the people in our town specifically. For example, every first Wednesday of the
month I go and help with a project called Snack Pack. During this time, about fifteen other kids and
I prepare three weeks worth of food for seventeen high schoolers in our school district. These are
kids that do not have enough money at home to always have food on their table. Snack Pack plays
an important role in their lives because without it, they would not always eat. These kids deserve the
chance to live their life and go to school without having to worry about whether or not the will eat
dinner that night. That is why I value my role in this club so much, because I know what we do
makes a difference. When the kids collect their food, they are able to relax a little more knowing
that their family will be able to eat. Another aspect of Key Club that I take part in is Fairy Tale
Forest, held at Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary. Every year, the weekend before
Halloween, I volunteer, with a handful of others from the club, to go and work at the children's fairy
tale nature walk. The past two years I have been a runner. This means I do the odd little jobs, like
run food and drinks around to the different characters that are working in the trail, that would
otherwise be forgotten or not done at all. Although this is a small role, it is what helps make

be credited to Key club (a community service organization) Key club has connected me with the
community in a way I never knew. It was not long that I began to receive personally wrote thank
you letters from people and organizations we have served. One such organization was our local first
Baptist church. This simple letter I found greatly changed how I saw Key Club. Before it seemed
like a small group of friends that often went under appreciated despite our efforts. However now i

the leadership ladder as President, I was able to create events specially designated towards
improving the community, then as International Key Club Texas–Oklahoma Treasurer I shared,
organized and was able to communicate with over 300 club's budgets and dues to create more
service opportunities dedicated to helping local causes. In my local girl scout troop as an

Although it sounds cliché, everything does go by in a blink of an eye, and your term will already be

would someday be the Club President that doubled my club membership, or the Membership
Growth Chair that oversaw the membership count of the Pacific Northwest District. Life is full of
surprises. If you're afraid that you'll lose, don't be. There are plenty of opportunities afterwards.
Losing District Treasurer was a setback; however, I realized that there were more opportunities

Key Club College Application Analysis
College applications' 'Extracurricular Activities' sections unintentionally birth tin men and women;
fears of rejection beget dishonesty and heartlessness. Last year, one hundred and ninety–nine
students registered for the Middleton High School's Key Club. Ninety–six members fulfilled the
ten–hours–of–service requirement; thirty–eight members lacked one hour of service. Atelophobia
explains such inactivity. To charm college admissions officers, students indolently and
unconcernedly participate in Key Club. They trivialize volunteerism. As Key Club President, a
fourth–year blood drive coordinator, and a University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics volunteer, I
witness community service's influence and encourage high school students to serve

Key Club Community Analysis
Since freshmen year, I been apart of my school's Key Club chapter, and together we have grown. As
a member my freshmen year, I did understand the specifics of Key Club. I merely joined since I
thought it was provide me opportunities that would allow me to gain community service hours
required for graduation at my school. What I later learned, however, through participating in the
club's events, is how beneficial giving back to the community is. As a volunteer at the Ukrop's
Monument 10K race, I realized that while I may not be the only person passing out water to runner,
but that my specific location could have possibly allowed some runners to hydrate themselves at the
perfect time, allowing them to continue racing and feeling refreshed. Additionally, ... Show more

Leading the club and its members was unexpectedly difficult. It forced me to become more
responsible in actions since I would be held accountable. For instance, if I waited till the last minute
to contact sponsors or other organizations to plan events, I could perhaps miss out on the event since
the day would no longer be available. As President this year, I had to also improve my leadership
skills from before. As Honor Council Chair, whenever a council member failed to investigate a case,
I took over and did the job. However, with the leading two clubs this year, all the extracurriculars,
AP classes, and applying to colleges and for graduation, the stress was unbearable and I could no
longer take control of everything. Therefore, when other officers or committee members
consistently failed to follow through on their tasks this year, I reassigned the duties to someone else
who I knew would be reliable.
These past four years of Key Club have taught me many things. I've gained an appreciation for
service and understood its impacts, as well as gained responsibility and leadership skills as
President. Key Club is one of two clubs I've stuck around throughout my entire high school
experience. The reason being that it has allowed me to improve myself while helping others improve
themselves

Key Club Candidate

  • 1. Key Club Candidate What makes me a qualified candidate is that I am hard–working, persistent, and passionate about what I do. If I start something, I will not stop until it is complete, and done to the best of my abilities. Not only am I passionate about Key Club, I consider myself a very outgoing and caring person, and not afraid to help motivate more reserved or hesitant members to join in on events, and overall become more comfortable around the officers, and their fellow Key clubbers. When I first joined Key Club, I was hesitant to do any events because I had no friends that were interested in doing them with me. As a result of my shyness, I missed out on a lot of great events my freshmen year, and I do not want anyone else to feel that they can not fit in, or feel like they're going to be left out. I plan on taking A.P Calculus AB,and A.P psychology my junior year. The rest of my classes are pretty standard, Spanish 3, English 3, Physics, and U.S history. At the moment, I do not intend to do any other extracurricular activities other than Key Club next year. I want to mainly focus on Key Club due to it being something I am really passionate about, and understand that it deserves my absolute attention. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think that acquiring more events that show more different cultures, and sides of our community, will help our Key Clubbers feel more motivated and passionate about what they do. I also plan to make sure each event does not have an overfill of volunteers. • 3. Cross Country Running Persuasive Speech Running has always been a passion of mine, along the way it has helped me overcome and push towards my goals in life. My cross country and track teams have become more like a family, than a team. We win together, and we lose together. Becoming the distance runner I am today has allowed me to have a purpose in life and to always try to be the best that I can. Not only do I participate in cross country running and outdoor track, however, I spend the whole year in training. I also participate in soccer in the fall and cross–country skiing in the winter. Summers are not a "rest", in the summer I work two jobs which are approximate to about a fifty hour work week. On top of that, I spend the summer competing in cycling and long distance races such as the Black Fly Challenge held in the Adirondacks and the Boilermaker in Utica, NY. I enjoy physical exercise because it pushes me to do my best throughout everything I do. Being a non–stop athlete has allowed me to push towards my goals and determine where my limits are in life. I enjoy running in general whether its a light jog with my sister or the state qualifier in track. Competing in races and meets brings a rush to my legs, my mind, and my heart. Cross country has allowed me to admire the beauty of the wilderness along with the rush that running brings me. The most successful event that my school has witnessed for girls is the 4x800 meter relay. I have the privilege to be a part of this 4 women team, surrounded by my closest ... However, when I saw the clubs my school offered, I was surprised to find out that there were not any service clubs for me to participate in. As a girl with a passion, I realized something needed to be done. So I gathered some friends and we decided to start a service club at our school. One of my friends suggested that we charter a Key Club, an international high school service club that she had at her past high school. To get chartered, we had to get support from the school and the local community. We had to obtain a sponsorship from a local Kiwanis club. It can be hard for adults to take teenagers seriously but with firm persistence we prevailed and as a unit, we successfully chartered a Key Club chapter, which began the first ... We decided to set up a fundraiser to raise money for his surgery. We premiered High School Musical 2 for students to watch and charged a small entry fee of $1.00. The fellow club officers worked together to try and figure out how to effectively host a fundraiser. We divided the members up into groups. Some of them collected ticket sales, others help set up the movie in the auditorium, and others sold treats at the screening. That night we raised over $600 for the security guard from donations and entrance fee costs. Seeing the smile and respect he had for us wanting to help him made me thankful that I could be a part of something that made his life easier. Accordingly, members of Key Club would meet every Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. When we would meet, we did things that contributed to the community. For example, one time we wrote thank you letters to people in the military who were overseas. Doing this showed them that we cared and that we appreciate them for risking their lives for us. Another thing we did was to go around neighborhoods to collect can foods for the homeless. • 16. Personal Narrative: Key Club One of my biggest struggles I deal with everyday is that I feel like I'm one of the few people who actually does things from the heart. I don't do something because someone told me it was a good idea or because I'll look good to other people. I can provide you with plenty of examples to clarify this and the easiest example I can think of would be school. I bet that 75% of high school students only go to classes because it's federal law. Most of them (including me at one point) go there to just memorize stuff and try to make our parents happy with decent grades. Before we get to choose which community affected, we as readers have to define flourishing. (Friedman quoted in Liberty of Economics and Liberty) Phelps describes flourishing as prosperity in two components. Phelps first component is growth in wages and productivity. At our last officer meeting, my fellow officers expressed interest in setting up a booth for the bonfire to raise both awareness and money for the Eliminate project. I'm extremely passionate about this project and can go on a rant about it, but I'll try my absolute hardest to give you a quick little summary: The Eliminate project is our main service project that Key Club International is focusing on this year, and we have been dedicated to this project since it began five years ago. Kiwanis (who sponsors Key Club) and UNICEF formed a partnership to eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT) from the face of the planet. Primarily in countries with poor birthing conditions, tetanus spores (found in soil everywhere) may infect open wounds, infecting the umbilical cord and causing the newborn to contract MNT. Known to be the seven–day death, the baby suffers from excruciating convulsions and an extreme sensitivity to light, sound, and touch, preventing even a mother's comfort. Every eleven minutes, a newborn dies from MNT. However, it only costs $1.80 to provide the necessary vaccination that will protect a mother and all of her future children, saving a family from being torn apart. • 52. Key Club International: A Case Study This past year of serving the New Jersey District of Key Club International has allowed me the distinct honor of serving with Lieutenant Governor Eileen Zhu. Eileen's level of communication is off the charts, unafraid of reaching out to any executive officer with questions or concerns. Personally, I have had the pleasure of being on the receiving end of multiple phone calls. This outstanding amount of communication shows a dedication towards her work as not only Lieutenant Governor of Division 11 but also her work as a Committee Chairperson and committee member. A conscientious member of the District Board, Eileen has made a point to go above and beyond the requirements of her service agreement. Becoming friends with many of her officers, ... • 54. Key Club National Honor Society As I worked my way through middle school, I would have never imagined that I would be as involved as I am today. From academic clubs like Science Olympiad and Robotics to service clubs like National Honor Society, Student Council and Key Club, my involvement in extracurriculars has been a positive challenge in a variety of ways. Key club in particular has pushed me to improve my community, expand my social life and prepare me for my future after high school. Like other service clubs, Key Club offers a variety of activities that gives us members plenty to choose from. These are opportunities that many students would participate in but are disoriented as to where to look; Key club facilitates this search. Volunteer activities such as Blood Drive, Humane Society and school clean ups have made me realize that there are endless possibilities to help out my community. Blood drive will help save individuals on the verge of life and death. Humane Society will provide care for animals that have reached a point of learned helplessness. School clean ups has kept our facility a symbol of pride. Knowing I saved a life, helped the helpless, and made my school a better place brings me pride beyond that of any materialistic thing. This helped improve the quality of the High School experience of others and myself as it helped form bonds that will continue post– graduation. As a proud key clubber of one and a half years, I've developed an ambition to lead Key Club by using my past experiences and the voices of my peers. I desire to become a Key Club officer who genuinely hopes to improve Key Club and strive to make a place where everyone can have fun while feeling like they belong. As an extreme perfectionist, I always have a hard time abandoning plans that eventually won't work out. If I don't understand something, I will sit down and will absolutely not get up until I get it. Although this may seem good, I tend to waste a lot of time trying to figure out something that is either pointless or impossible to comprehend. I want to translate these actions into something where I can be persistent, but to a certain extent. I believe that if I can work on limiting my stubbornness, I can translate it into helping our club. I am also not a good people person; however, I'm constantly trying to put myself out there and live life dangerously! Lastly, I joined Key Club because my interest to expose myself to the community and help people out. My older sister's genuinely enjoyed being in Key Club and they highly encouraged me to join. I'm so glad I became a key clubber, and I am still a current and passionate member because I truly enjoy helping out our community. • 60. Key Club Application Essay One experience I have had in high school is to be Vice–President of Key Club, a volunteering club. Through Key Club, I discovered that I have a passion for volunteering and helping out those who are less fortunate than I am in hopes of helping them live a better life. As Vice–President, I get to share my love for helping others in my community with my fellow peers in hopes of inspiring them to help others as well. This has led me to realize that I want to ensure that I will continue to participate in my community and that I want to be a part of Engineers Without Borders in college. This would allow me to apply what I will be learning through my major of engineering to provide solutions to problems in communities all around the world. Being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 62. Key Club Essay Key Club Key Club the motto is "Caring––Our Way of Life" what that means is caring for others and helping others less fortunate than ourselves. Caring and serving others something that I have always been passionate about doing. If I were selected to become a member of Key Club I would design a service project that would help all students get involved with serving the community. My service project that I would design would be entitled "Nights of Poverty". As teenagers we all enjoy going out with our friends and eating dinner and hanging out. On Friday or Saturday nights I would design a project to where instead of going out with friends to eat we would all come together as a school for dinner and donate money to another city school to assist ... • 66. Key Club Participation In High School In High School, I was involved in Key Club for 4 years. To be honest, when I first heard of Key Club I thought it was just an organization that collected "keys". So I decided to go to the first meeting where I learned that Key Club members actually gave back to the community by being actively involved in community events and organizing service projects. During my junior year of high school, I served as the Secretary of the club. As Secretary, I compiled the number of hours that each of the 150+ members served each month at various events. Over the year, I realized that while our club was large, only a small group of members were active and attended the service events. • 68. Persuasive Essay On Community Service Every Sunday, I have the opportunity to help as a child care worker in my church's nursery; and every week, after spending just one hour watching over the kids so that their parents can go to service and not have to worry about their children, I remember exactly why I spend my free time helping others. The term "Noblesse Oblige" is why I choose to be involved in multiple childcare opportunities and community service clubs. I believe it is my job to make sure those who are less fortunate, or in need of aid, get the help they require and deserve. I take part in different aspects of community service because it helps better my community and makes me a stronger leader. For the past three years at Liberty High School, I have been a member of the Key Club community service organization. As a member of this club, I am able to help with different jobs around the community that help the people in our town specifically. For example, every first Wednesday of the month I go and help with a project called Snack Pack. During this time, about fifteen other kids and I prepare three weeks worth of food for seventeen high schoolers in our school district. These are kids that do not have enough money at home to always have food on their table. Snack Pack plays an important role in their lives because without it, they would not always eat. These kids deserve the chance to live their life and go to school without having to worry about whether or not the will eat dinner that night. That is why I value my role in this club so much, because I know what we do makes a difference. When the kids collect their food, they are able to relax a little more knowing that their family will be able to eat. Another aspect of Key Club that I take part in is Fairy Tale Forest, held at Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary. Every year, the weekend before Halloween, I volunteer, with a handful of others from the club, to go and work at the children's fairy tale nature walk. The past two years I have been a runner. This means I do the odd little jobs, like run food and drinks around to the different characters that are working in the trail, that would otherwise be forgotten or not done at all. Although this is a small role, it is what helps make ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Last year, one hundred and ninety–nine students registered for the Middleton High School's Key Club. Ninety–six members fulfilled the ten–hours–of–service requirement; thirty–eight members lacked one hour of service. Atelophobia explains such inactivity. To charm college admissions officers, students indolently and unconcernedly participate in Key Club. They trivialize volunteerism. As a member my freshmen year, I did understand the specifics of Key Club. I merely joined since I thought it was provide me opportunities that would allow me to gain community service hours required for graduation at my school. What I later learned, however, through participating in the club's events, is how beneficial giving back to the community is. As a volunteer at the Ukrop's Monument 10K race, I realized that while I may not be the only person passing out water to runner, but that my specific location could have possibly allowed some runners to hydrate themselves at the perfect time, allowing them to continue racing and feeling refreshed. Additionally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Leading the club and its members was unexpectedly difficult. It forced me to become more responsible in actions since I would be held accountable. For instance, if I waited till the last minute to contact sponsors or other organizations to plan events, I could perhaps miss out on the event since the day would no longer be available. As President this year, I had to also improve my leadership skills from before. As Honor Council Chair, whenever a council member failed to investigate a case, I took over and did the job. However, with the leading two clubs this year, all the extracurriculars, AP classes, and applying to colleges and for graduation, the stress was unbearable and I could no longer take control of everything. Therefore, when other officers or committee members consistently failed to follow through on their tasks this year, I reassigned the duties to someone else who I knew would be reliable. These past four years of Key Club have taught me many things. I've gained an appreciation for service and understood its impacts, as well as gained responsibility and leadership skills as President. Key Club is one of two clubs I've stuck around throughout my entire high school experience. The reason being that it has allowed me to improve myself while helping others improve themselves ...
