Personal Family Values
Personal and Family Values As I mentioned before my family and I deal a lot with immigration. In
fact, just before Trump became president my cousin who was 16 at the time came from El Salvador
to the United States illegally and we had to deal with constantly worrying about her because it took
months for her to arrive to the U.S. and then she got caught by the immigration police when she was
within U.S. borders and we had to then deal with that for a couple months while we gathered the
paper work to gain custody of her since she was a minor. Luckily for us things worked out and she is
now living with us as we are currently trying to get her residency. For my family and I this is the
norm. We are strong believers that everyone deserves a second chance in life to better their lives by
getting a better education and moving to a place where it is safer and has better opportunities. When
it comes to our religious beliefs, my family and I consider ourselves as Christians, but all of my
extended family is Catholic. Growing up that was always confusing to me because with my
extended family they believe in godparents and baptisms as babies, and at first that was the norm for
parents too because they were originally Catholic, but converted to Christians before my siblings
and I were born. My siblings and I basically had to grow up with both religions and I never really
knew what religion to consider myself as until I fully understood what both religions really mean.

What Values I Learned From My Family
Growing up with my cultural views gave me access to several important values I learned from my
family. These values are very important to me, as they have shaped who I am today. The three most
important values for me would be: to be honest, to be myself, and to be respectful. Each value has
taught me different perspectives, abilities and given me different qualities.
All three values are very important to me, however the most important one would have to be, being
honest not just with others but being honest to myself. Everything depends on honesty. If friends,
peers, or co–workers aren't being honest with us, we can not trust the person, which leads to not
being able to build relationships with one another. If people are not able to build relationships with
another human, then the person will not be able to interact with a society. Lies will often hurt those
who you told them to. Being honest has shaped by own perspectives because I want people to trust
me and I want people to be honest with me as well. This will lead to building relationships with
many other people.
The next value I learned from my family is to be myself. This means I should stick to my own
values and to do what makes me happy and not to be swayed by peer pressure. This value has been
shaped by my culture and experiences because my parents have given me freedom to do what I want
to do. My family did not force me to go to a certain school or to get a certain degree to be just like
them, instead my family

My Family Values
The American family has many different functions, all equally important, but I believe one that is
crucial in our world is teaching children how to be kind. I believe that kindness is a learned trait, and
that human beings are born cruel. Children can be especially cruel before they are taught how to be
kind to others. For example, in my elementary school I drew a picture that I thought was rather
good, and I gave it to my teacher. When I came back from lunch I was horrified to find out that a
boy in my class had added a vulgar addition and had ruined my paper. The boy thought it was funny
and he seemed shocked when I started to cry. This experience made me believe that children don't
know when they act cruelly, and that they have to be taught how to be kind. Most of that teaching
comes from their home. Of course, school plays an important role in this as well. School teaches
lessons on sharing, asking politely, and how to resolve conflict; however, those lessons are more on
how to interact appropriately with others in a society. Children usually learn how to actually be kind
from their parents and older siblings, and if they don't learn kindness they might resort to bullying
other children in school because that is all they have been taught. I have observed how my family
and interactions with my siblings have taught me kindness, and because I was taught to be kind, I
believe that it is important for all families to teach their children how to be kind. To understand

Family : The Value Of The Family In The Movie
Family is the one thing that will stick by you through good and bad no matter what. With family you
have a bond that can never be broken. Though we may get tired at parents nagging or bossing us
around, they do it for the better. They have been through a lot more than we have and probably have
done what we are going to do. The Gladiator is a very good example of because of all the
misfortunes that happens with family throughout the movie. Sometimes they let us learn on our own
to teach us a lesson. That's how life is, and just because they nag doesn't mean they do not love us it
is because they care. Caring is what makes someone feel loved. Love is what makes us feel wanted.
To have someone love and care for us is something lots of people take for granted because family
can be gone in the blink of an eye. Then others could argue you have people who leave for no
reason.
Family is the most important thing in life because having people to experience life with makes it a
lot better. Though we may take it for granted when we are younger, we start to accept that it would
be lonely not having someone to enjoy life with. As we get older we start to appreciate what we
were given. Even though families get in fights at the end of the day everyone still loves everyone.
From this image depicted in the previous slide is a family who is happy. When we are young we
always want mom or dad and as we grow up we go into a stage where we barely want anything to
do with parents. Parents having

My Family : Personal Values : A Family As A Family
Topic A
We are a family of four: my mom, my dad, my sister and I. Passed down from generation to
generation, the values of commitment, respect, and faith have been instilled in my life by my
parents. Throughout my childhood, my parents have shaped the way I look at the world by teaching
me lessons and guiding me to the right path.
Both my mom and my dad have displayed loyalty to our family in countless ways. Born in
Tamaulipas, Mexico, my mom moved to Texas when she became an orphan. Due to cancer, she lost
both of her parents at the age of 13 and was adopted by a family who resided in Brownsville, Texas.
Listening to my mom share her stories of her hardships made me realize how strong she really was.
Although my mom experienced such difficult times at a young age, I quickly learned my mom
stayed committed to her parents even though they were no longer there to support her. She shared
such descriptive stories and insightful lessons about my grandparents, thus engendering an
environment of faith and devotion around my sister and me. In spite of the fact that I didn't get to
meet my grandparents, they will always be held in my heart because of what I acquired from my
mom. While my mom's history shows her commitment, my dad's job as a salesman and his hard
work ethic shows his. Due to his occupation, my dad traveled a lot and was not always around when
I was younger, but he made a point to show he cared. Since my dad worked a lot, this placed a
symbol of determination in

Dominican Family Values
It's no doubt that culture and family values play a significant role in the self–discovery process.
Often times, these social constructs can influence goals, beliefs and values. Life as a Dominican is
one that is built on strong family value, religion, morality and work ethic. Growing up in a
Dominican family, I can remember my parents instilling strong moral values such as being honest
and respecting one another while emphasizing the need for hard work and education. Much of my
outlook on life can be attributed to the Dominican values of family, discipline and values taught to
me throughout my childhood and adolescence.
Family Structure
Family structure in the Dominican Republic is shaped very traditional in views and gender roles.
Typically, men are held in high reverence within the home while women take on supporting roles.
Men often hold the title of "head–of–household" while women hold domestic roles such a taking
care of the household and rearing children (Howard, 1997; Vazquez, 2005). Children are often
taught to respect their elders and to be obedient. As parents, Dominicans tend to be very protective
of their children and typically demand strict compliance (Vazquez, 2005, p. 223). Even though the
expected roles of husband, wife and children follow common structures of the traditional household,
the typical family is far from nuclear. Household are typically compound consisting of grandparents,
parents, aunts, uncles and cousins (Vasquez, 2005, p. 217). Families are

My Values In My Family
Throughout life, our values change and grow. At a young age, we value our toys and material
possessions. But, as we mature, our values take on a different role, a more substantial meaning.
What I value most at this point in my life is family and friends. My family is what i value most and
my friends I count them as my family too but if they were with me since pre–kinder and never done
anything bad to me or me to them so we could of stayed together from the past until now. Since I
was in Kazen Elementary I was always on my own never really talked to anyone but I did had
friends. Although, just like every little kid likes to hang out with the cool kids instead of the kid
being bullied so they won't get bullied. However, it didn't bothered me because after school; my
friends and I always get together and play video games or play outside. Yet, in fourth and fifth grade
is when everybody started to not be around me no more, talk to me, and even my friends. Who I
thought they were my friends but really they were just being bullies all the time. When I entered
middle school there was some people being bullied including myself. So, I made some choices in
my life either do something with myself or just stay the same as who I am. I used to be a fat kid and
that was easy for people to call me names. Nor, little that they know I started exercising with my
cousin everyday in the United Campus and always pushed myself to not look like I used to look
before. After that, people see me in

The Society Places A Lot Of Value On Family Values
The society places a lot of value on family values. The term refers to the desirable qualities that are
required for a good existence with other family members. The values include love, loyalty, high
moral standards and trust. The political class and other leaders are expected to demonstrate a keen
awareness of family values. In this book, Richard Rodriguez endeavors to redefine the concept of
family values. "The text challenges the traditional beliefs of good family values" (Rodriguez 258).
The text focuses on homosexuality and the effect that it is having on families. In addition, it also
evaluates the role of working mothers. The text portrays modern life where parents have to deal with
gay children and couples have to decide if the woman should work. An evaluation of the text and
my personal life reveals that family values involve the willingness to confront personal challenges
together.
An evaluation of my personal life reveals a lot of similarities with the text. For instance, my mother
had to decide if she should go back to work a few years ago. I come from a close knit family that
strives to demonstrate a willingness to communicate with one another. Consequently, my father
called a meeting to discuss the issue. In solving the problem, we had to consider a number of
factors. First, the feelings of the person in question. My mother believed that she would be happier
and more fulfilled if she continued with her career. She had quit her job as a marketer in order to

values. A complete family makes the individual self reliant, honest, caring and happy. Good parent's

resources often produce stable, responsible personage. Parents are the main influence on a human's
personality development. Human being's want only the love of their parents and it gives satisfaction
at every stage. But when individual don't get love from any of the parent, it adversely affects on
individual's personality and always lives in a distressful condition. The intense meaning of family
relations for almost everyone has been observed throughout history.
Philosophers and social analysts have noted that any society is a structure made up of families
linked together. The family is made–up of individuals, but it is also a social unit, and part of larger
network.
Over the decades, social scientists have struggled in their efforts to define the multidimensional
concept of family. Below are some definitions that will give clear cut meaning that what actually
family is?
Most social research into the family has had an immediate moral purpose, to eliminate deviations
like divorce, desertion, illegitimacy, and adultery rather than a desire to understand the fundamental
nature of social institutions. In this sense the family seems socially unimportant. It is only the

In some cases end–of–life decisions must be made primarily based on known individual wishes or
documents, and the support of the family. Even when a patient in the intensive care unit has an
opportunity for a positive outcome there are difficult decisions, difficult messages, and difficult
conversations to be had. According to a study completed by Caroline Williams; the family plays a
larger role than providing information about the individual; including emotional support to the
patient, and a positive psychological effect (Williams, 2005). In the situation which a family
members health is compromised to the level that they need to be in the intensive care unit, not only
does the family need to come together to serve as a support for the patient, but also a support for one
another. As health care providers one must serve a role in this process as well. According to
Damboise and Cardin, the family's needs include; information, reassurance, support, and the need to
be near the patient (2003). Family Nursing Theory Orem's Self Care Model of Nursing involves the
understanding that patients not only have the ability, but also the right, and responsibility to care for
themselves (Clark, 1986). One believes that Orem's model is important in the intensive care setting,

Family And Familial Values
Family values, sometimes referred to as Familial values, are traditional or cultural values (that is,
values passed on from generation to generation within families) that pertain to the family's structure,
function, roles, beliefs, attitudes, and ideals. In the social sciences, sociologists may use the term
"traditional family" in order to refer specifically to the child–rearing environment that sociologists
formerly called the norm. This "traditional family" involves a middle–class family with a
breadwinner father and a homemaker mother, raising their biological children. Any deviation from
this family model is considered a "nontraditional family". Nontraditional families, nevertheless,
make up the majority of American households, as of now. According to Oxford English Dictionary,
family values means: [n.] values attributed to or derived from family life; [spec.] values allegedly
learnt or reinforced within a traditional, close family ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Filial is the oldest one in Chinese ethical category. Filial appeared in Zhou Dynasty (1046B.C.–
256B.C.), and the original meaning is respecting ancestry, repayment and raising up children. Then
Confucius (551B.C.–479B.C.) change its religious and philosophical significance into the only
means that you should take good care of parents. In "Book of Filial Piety", the moral values that
reflect family–child relationship had been fully politicized. Confucianism had been used to run a
country and teach all the literati since the Western Han Dynasty (206B.C.–A.D.24). Its dominance
had lasted for few thousand years until the May 4th Movement of 1919. But, nowadays, Chinese
students still need to learn some part of the Confucianism since their childhood. This makes the

Value My Family
I was born in a family that is very connected. My family would help each other in many ways
including help in homework, tests, quizzes, keeping the house in shape order and so on. The most
important thing in my life is my family. The reason why I value my family so much is because they
help me in my everyday life. My brother helps me with school, my sister helps me in writing my
essays, and my mother and father keep the house clean and stable. If I didn't have such a family, I
would not be the person I am today.
What I value the most in my life is my family. The reason why I value my family is because they
help me go through life, guiding me through life's challenges. For example, regarding school, my
older sister and my brother help teach me things that I didn't understand. For example, when I began
writing important pieces in ELA including essays, my sister laid out the basic outline for an essay.
Then my brother would check my essay for grammar mistakes, improper tense or sloppy wording.
My brother also helps me out in math and science. He recently began helping me out in math and
science as soon as I began Manhattan Village Academy. My brother would teach me concepts in
math that he is learning in geometry at school. These concepts would give me a better understanding
of the Geometry of Manhattan Village Academy. In addition, my twin brother is taking Biology, and
would fill me in on the biological components of AP Environmental Science. I also value my mother

Value Of Family
The Value of Family
I had the privilege to meet Nyssa Baker and learn that her most important value is family. According
to a reference entry titled Family, "Family generally refers to a group of people related to one
another by birth, marriage, or adoption" (Funk, 2016). This does not exclude extended family, such
as aunts, uncles, and cousins. Even the people that are not related can be considered family. Families
come in every shape and size, they have strong relationships, and unique traditions. First off, every
family is different, one size doesn't fit all. The common family that includes a mother, a father, and
children is a "nuclear family" according to the reference entry titled Family. In today's world, there
are a variety of different families each one being unique in some aspect. There are extended
families, single parent families, blended families, empty nest families, and consensual union. While
a nuclear family includes a mother, a father, and children, extended family typically means that there
are three or more generations that live in the same house according to the reference entry. An
example of this would be when my aunt lived with my family for the last few years of college. A
blended family is where two people get married and they each have their own children from
previous relationships. Empty nest families could be what many of our parents are facing. Empty
nest means that the children are out of the house. Consensual union might be the one term that

Essay about Family Values
When raising a child one is taught values by their families that they feel are important for their child
to have. I believe that family values consist of certain actions and qualities that are important to a
family to uphold. Values that are important in my family are honesty, trust and to have respect for
others. Each of these values is equally important in my family. They played a big role into making
me the person I am now. Growing up in my family taught me that honesty is the best policy. When I
would get into trouble as a child I would often try to lie to my mom thinking that would save me
from being punished. I soon learned that lying would only get me into more trouble than I was
already. Honesty has given me the reputation of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Respect is an important value to be taught when growing up. Through the years I have learned that
in order to learn anything you must have respect for others. I have learned many valuable lessons
from listening to my grandmother. She has told me many of her experiences, which has made me a
better person. Having respect for other people has allowed me to be more open–minded and see
qualities in people that most would not. I have always listened to what my friends and family has to
say. That doesn't always mean that I agree with them, but it is their opinion, so I respect it. In return
I receive respect from them. As people begin to respect me more their trust in me also grows. Trust
is a value that was very hard for me to learn. I was always afraid that someone was going to hurt me
one way or another. My mother was always telling me that I should learn to trust others so that they
could help me from time to time, but I never could do it. Eventually I finally learned to trust others a
few years ago. I have realized that other people can do many things for you if you just trust in them.
This helps me in the relationships I have with my friends. Trust doesn't happen overnight, it takes
time. I have learned that trusting certain people is worth the risk, and helps the relationships I have
with them. All values that families instill in their children are important. They are the deciding
factors that help a person grow. Values

Family Values Essay
Like many, I was raised in a family whose beliefs and morals were of high standing. I was able to
avoid numerous situations that otherwise could have proved fatal to my mental, physical, and
spiritual state. However, while my situation allowed me to grow up in a relatively safe environment,
others of my associate were not so fortunate. One friend of mine in particular grew up in a
household where their moral standards and beliefs caused much confusion and pain in her life.
Besides participating in alcoholic parties, having lower dress standards, and reviling in acts of
dishonesty, my friend also had a habit of sleeping around. In grade six she fell pregnant and, while I
do not know all the details, she had to skip most of her schooling that year. This is only a short
glimpse of what was in store for her, as she battled family issues by participating in drinking and
sexual activities in order to escape family issues. While drinking on its own is detrimental to one's
health, the act in participating in sexual activities and lowering ones moral standards is even more
detrimental, both to the individual and their family. Thus the necessity or morality incorporates the
roles of both parents and children within the family to stay morally clean.
The role of parents in the family unit is vital; they are the ones that set the example for future
generations to follow. As parents, each role is unique and well prepared to suit their children with
their best characteristics as mothers

Family And Family Arrangements And Values
From There to Here
Family Is
The Definition of family, is relative, no pun intended. It depends on your background and
experiences. Family can be friends or blood relatives, it can mean many different things to everyone.
But most importantly I think it means support, you should consider to be a part of your family
anyone who supports the decisions that you make, and doesn't judge you for them. This can include
friends, and family. It's important to decide for yourself what matters most to you, and to no longer
rely on the outdated ideas of the past. Stephanie Coontz (2010) said "Family arrangements and
values continue to differ by social class, religion, race, and ethnicity." (p. 46)
A Little Background
I grew up poor but not destitute in rural East Texas. My father was the 3rd youngest in a family of
eleven kids, my grandfather, Neal McDaniel was a cotton farmer, not long after my father was born
in 1958 he quit farming and my grandma Thelma McDaniel went to work at a lumber factory. My
father's family was poor. However, my grandpa was able to purchase enough land to give each of his
kids something to call their own, this is where I lived the first eighteen years of my life in a house
that my father built. I am an only child. My father worked a laborious job as a roofer, for most of his
life, while nursing a pretty mean alcohol and drug addiction. He no longer works, and is in
worsening health but still has his vices. My mother grew up in Houston, a city girl, she had two

The Values Of A Family
What is a family? What parts make up a family? These two questions are questions that millions of
adults and children ask themselves regularly. When people think about a family in their head they
think of a nuclear family. Where you have a Mom, Dad, and a few kids running around a home in
the middle of a suburban wasteland. That is the nuclear family that I feel most modern families
strive to be like. But factors can change within a family and still be a family. I do not believe that a
family is strictly based off what people see from the front porch looking in. A family is about the
everlasting bond that is formed between a group of people whether they are related by blood or by
other means. A family is a group of people who stick together during hard times and good times,
they laugh together and they cry together. They eat meals together, party together, are weaved
together in life. They are like a strip of palm leaves, and when you weave a bunch of them together
it makes a basket, that is a family. The people that someone can call at two in the morning on a
Wednesday just because they can't sleep. The ones who would sacrifice anything to help them. The
bond can never be broken because the word "family" holds them together like glue to wallpaper.
Now, let's talk about what values are when it comes to a Family. In a family you can find some
major parts that make a family have an identity like, social, political, religious, and work values.
These values give a family a

Family Values What influences you to do what you do? For me, that's my family. They drive me to
better myself and to always learn more. I'm always trying to better myself for them. I would like to
set a good example for my younger cousins, be able to provide for my parents, and I want to be able
to help provide for future generations; I feel the best way to accomplish this is to further my
education. I try to make my actions reflect this, and the farther I go on this long road, that is my
education, the more I accomplish this.
I come from a big family, as my mom is the youngest of eight, therefore I have a lot of cousins, and
those cousins have children of their own, thus I have a lot of younger cousins that look up to me. My
family, as big as it is, is still a close–knit family. We are all considerably involved in each other's
lives. It would be an outlier for us if anyone of us goes longer than 2 days without seeing or talking
to someone else in the family. I try to help my younger cousins and guide them in the right direction.
I even tutor one of my cousins for her math class. I have a younger second cousin, who is like a mini
me, that I want to set a good example for. Sometimes when she plays pretend, she pretends to be me.
I have even given her one of my old name tags from work, and it's now her favorite thing in her
dress up bin. So, I feel that if she's following my footsteps, I want to lead her in a good direction. I
want the world for her, and while I'm trying my best to give her that, she still deserves more.
Because of how she strong and brave she has been in her life with all of her medical problems, I
often feel like she is my role model. Yet, she has decided that I am her role model, thus I have to
step it up for her. If you had a young child who parrots what you say and do, wouldn't that change
what you say and do? Wouldn't you treat everyone better? Wouldn't you try harder to be a better
person, at least for them?
When I was younger, my dad emphasized the importance of education. He has said that when he
was younger, he did not prioritize his education, and so he went into the construction and mining
workforces. He has always told my sister and I that he does not want that kind of life for

The Importance Of Family Values
The most important thing to do as a parent is create family values. One way to establish family
values is to spend time together as a family. Another way to create family values is to talk to your
children on a regular basis so they are able to express themselves. While reading the article
"Defining Your Family Values", it gave suggestions such as meeting up with your family at least
once a week to express your feelings and hardships in your life. This article went into detail about
how we have 3 essential parts of life: work, play, and love. Our life can become stressful when we
focus on one more than the other. In the article "We Are What We See", the author talks about how if

The most common place children learn family values is when they are spending time with their
family. Family is the first group of people a child comes into contact with so the child's family is
ultimately the people who teach them the most. Children also learn their values through seeing what
their family values most, and through learning life lessons and overcoming them. Once they get sent
off to preschool, teachers are in charge of being their role model. If they are taught no values, then
they could possibly come into class and show their peers negative behavior and their peers might be
influenced. From the articles I read, one topic that was very interesting to me was the fact that you
have to set a good example in order for them to follow along. I think that is interesting because for
the first few years of their life children learn by seeing things around them. So if their family
repeatedly does something wrong, it influences the child. I also thought that it was interesting that
the same article talked about how children used to be treated before they knew anything about child
development. Recently, we do not have that "protected" age anymore because of social media.
Children are being exposed to things they should not be exposed to. Finally, I read 2 articles about
family values that both had the same ideas and also had different details within the main idea. One
article was entitled "Family Values; What Children Learn From Parents"

The values that are most important to me are family, a strong work ethic, integrity, and respect. I am
Hispanic, so we come from a very family oriented culture, thus making family the utmost significant
value. We have a great sense of unity that goes beyond the immediate family (parents and siblings)
and includes the extended family (grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins) and close friends.
Having a strong work ethic is a value I have inherited from my parents. From an early age, my
parents have told me, "You never get anywhere unless you work hard for it". That kind of mentality
has stayed with me ever since. They believe if you don't work hard at something then you truly don't
appreciate it. I have worked hard all my life to get to where I am now and I continue to work to get
to where I want to be. Integrity and respect are values I keep near and dear to me. I believe that we
should always do things with integrity. I believe one must have respect for others and themselves.
These values were formed and influenced mainly by my family, ethnicity, culture and environment I
was raised in. This set of values have influenced me and shaped the person I am today. Growing up,
I was always surrounded with my family whether it was my immediate family or my extended one.
My grandparents were like second parents to me and my cousins were my best friends. My family
has worked extremely hard, and has faced many adversities to be where they are today and to have
everything they do

My Family Values
By interviewing a parent or grandparent, try to make connections and/or comparisons to a family
member."I am extremely disappointed in you." (Campbell 126)
Over the summer, I put my own values above my family's for the first time. This led to my decision
to move out and begin crafting my own life by making choices that I give myself. My family would
no longer be making my decisions for me. In response, my father felt as though his values should be
placed above mine. He was so upset that one of the things he said to me was, "I am extremely
disappointed in you." His response only furthered my decision to leave; I had recognized that my
personal values were more important than family values. A family is composed of the people who
understand a person, why they act the way they do and who they are as a person. When someone
thinks of family, what comes to mind friends, mom, dad, aunt or uncle as family. A family is defined
as a group consisting of parents and children living together in a household. Family values are
defined as values held to be traditionally learned or reinforced within a family, for example, high
morals, standards, and discipline. With my family, values are simple. Family comes first, and to treat
people like you want to be treated. Family's values are different from other values in that they are
not personal. My personal values are not dependent on what my family deems important. They don't
pertain to anyone but myself.
A single parent is supposed to perform both roles, mother, and father. The parent has to work enough
to support their child but not so much that they can't see their parent. My mom was a single parent
for me when I was younger we had the belief that there are not gods or goddesses. I had to balance
my mother beliefs with a hidden version of my own. I thought about what made us and not want to
my mother to be disappointed in me. Raising a kid all by yourself is more complex because they
have to have both a soft and firm side. To be friendly with the child but not be friends with them.My
mother tried to raise me and keep up a full–time job, she worked from home but slept when I got
home from school. The only rule was not to get in trouble I could go anywhere do anything. Just

Family Values In The Family Of The American Family
Picture a picture frame sitting on the mantel over a fireplace, sitting in the frame is a warm candid
family sitting on the couch, the photo reads 12/ 25/77. The father is holding a beer with his four–
year–old daughter sitting on his lap her curly black hair almost engulfing her face. She is opening a
present wrapped in shining green paper, the girl's mother sitting next to them smiling in excitement
to see what her daughter thinks of her gift. Happy American family during the holidays. This is
initially what every family wants, "The Great American Dream": a nice house, a happy family, a
warm meal to come home to, and a white picket fence. The American family dynamic is changing
its look but it is keeping its core values
Next to that photo is another family photo, it shows a mother sitting on the couch holding her 2–
year–old son, sitting on the floor opening presents is two kids maybe five or six years old, next to
the mother sits the father holding a gift wrapped in shiny green paper. The photo reads 12/25/1955.
The typical American family has definitely changed since the 1950s however most families
experience the holidays together, with gifts, food, smiles, traditions and family squabbles. Most
every child experiences the magic of the holidays with their family, why can't they grow up
experiencing that magic with two moms or two dads?

Haitian Family Values
Family values are ideals that are learned traditionally in a family and are reinforced within the
familial unit. Family values can be very diverse between different cultures. Some of these family
values are the way children are raised, discipline, gender roles in the family, and the way families
choose to live.
Family values are a major part of Haitian culture and they are very important to Haitians. This is my
favorite aspect of all of Haitian Culture. For all Haitian families, no matter what class they are a part
of, family life is the most important thing. Middle and upper–class Haitian families usually live in
urban environments and they practice formal marriages and their family values are more similar to
modern American family values. Lower class families have a more informal way of living. Their
family environments are more extended family. In all classes, though, family always comes before
work or anything else. (Haitian Family)
From the very beginning of life, children are thought of as gifts from God. Families will do anything
and everything to make sure the children are taken care of and that their needs are met. Parents will
even sacrifice their own necessities to be sure that the children get what they need. Mothers will
feed their children and make sure they can go to school before they will eat. In Haiti, children are
raised by the whole family, which includes older siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and
even members of the community that are not

Traditional Family Values
Where do family values stand in today's world? There is the traditional family that make ends meet
no matter what and more common today is the modern family that take divorce like it is no big deal.
Kingslover and White give great examples of what a traditional family is like and how the modern
family is taking over. The world makes it easy to deplete family values in this day and age but really
divorce has been considered for centuries. Divorce has become a regular occurrence and highly
prevalent in today's society, which is focused upon and exemplified throughout the essay "Stone
Soup," whereas, traditional family values and permanent marital status is shown in "Once More to

The modern family is a family who associates with each other but they do not spend an efficient
amount of time with each other as a priority and often puts themselves before each other. According
to Kingslover, "That it selfishly puts personal happiness ahead of family integrity." Kingslover is
talking about divorce and he puts it into practical words that makes others think about what divorce
is. In today's world, divorce is very common and is sad, because according to the Bible when the
decision is made to get marries, the two people have to work things out. Matthew 5:31–32,"It has
been said, 'Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.' But I tell you that
anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and
anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery." This verse is what most people today are
doing. They are having sexual affairs with other people and then get a divorce and that is a sin. They
also are looking to television shows as the fairy tale marriage and expecting marriage to be just like
what is shown on tv. Divorce was something taken seriously but now it is a common way for people
who want out. Sinning is very common today, from lying, stealing, adultery and murder. These are
all sins that are becoming middling each and every day. What kind of world is the world turning
into? It is scary to think about and to think about what the world is going to be like in 25

Value Of A Latino Family
Most of the Hispanic/Latinos believe in God, they believe that God is an active force in everyone's
life. For Latino families, faith and church play a crucial role in understanding illnesses and healing
process of disease conditions. A majority Latinos worship every day and most of them believe in
attending religious services at least once a month. Latinos believe that "Familismo is the value of
family over individual or community needs and the expression of strong loyalty, reciprocity, and
solidarity between family members" (CDC, n.d.)
Hispanics/Latinos give family a higher value, respect, and consider family as a basis of joy and
support for the individual. For a Latino the family is everything above anything (Martinez et al.,
2012).

Family Value Is Important For Life
I think we all can agree that at some point in our life we asked our self about "what makes human
life matter"? Some of us, including myself, always perceived Human life as something this very
precious and important. Even though the answer to this question is ambiguous, people often have a
different answer. Some of us only care about life that has some way connected to us or had an
impact in our life. However, as for me, the one that stands out above all would value of family
because they are always there for us when we need them the most. They always find a way to make
our life more meaningful. I believe family value is important for living a meaningful life. Family
value is something that we hold very precious the most which is why they make our life more
meaning to it. Even though there are a lot of things that can make our human life matter, however, in
my opinion, the significance of human values, connected social life, and self–acceptance stand
above the top. Human values play a vital role in our lives and some of the most important human
values include our family, friends, and neighbors. While some of our values differ from the others,
but for me, family value is the most important. I think family values is truly the greatest thing to
have because it gives us meaning to live our life. I believe if we value our family, then can look after
us, take care of us, and be there when needed. Furthermore, if we have people who care for us,

Addams Family Values
Analyse the relationship between childhood and death in Addams Family Values (1993).
Traditionally there are two ways in which the relationship between childhood and death has been
represented in film. In the first of these the child is positioned as the powerless and tragic victim of
death in line with Romantic ideals of childhood as a time of innocence of purity. The second
common narrative of childhood and death 'is an attack on the Romantic idealization of the child', in
which the child is the perpetrator of death. The portrayal of children Addams Family Values would
appear to align with this narrative of the evil child because it depicts Wednesday and Pugsley
scheming to murder their brother. However, I would argue that they do not ... Show more content on

Wednesday appears several times in the film with dolls on which she enacts the violence she wishes
to enact on Pubert. Dolls are traditionally used as baby substitutes whom young girls take care of as
part of their social conditioning into the role of motherhood. Wednesday's violent attitude towards
dolls reflects another way in which her relationship with death is a form of rebellion, in this case a
rebellion against prescriptive gender roles, a point I will return to later. One final example of the
relationship between death and play in the film is the trading cards of 'schizos and serial killers'
which Joel and Pugsley play with. I mention this example here because it demonstrates yet another
way in which Addams Family Values' presentation of death–as–play works to subvert gender
stereotypes surrounding violence, namely in its focus on female killers rather than male. There are
three women shown on the cards, Lizzie Borden, Amy Fisher and the film's fictional 'Black Widow',
each of whom committed a violent crime at odds with 'the public perception of physical violence
[as] a masculine form of aggression'. That for the two boys these women's value lies in their violent
acts is also transgressive of expectations for girls to fulfil role of care and

The main subject that I interviewed was my mother 's mom, Tonia Johnston. She is one of my oldest
relatives, at age 68. All of my great grandparents are deceased. We started off with talking about her
great grandparents– that was about as far as she could remember and still give me adequate
information. Her great grandparents names were Emma, who died at 64, and Palmer, who died at 86.
They migrated to America from Norway, to escape the poverty that they faced and the lack of jobs.
Palmer 's hope of moving to America was to find a stable job and to raise a family in hope 's of a
new promising country, with more opportunities. Palmer ended up taking a career in dairy farms.
His main job was to test the milk at all the local dairy farms in southern Minnesota. Emma had no

Family Values
Family nursing is still seen as a fairly new specialty area in nursing. There has been discussion to
define what family nursing is and what role family and nursing play in this matter. The consensus is
that all definitions have as core concepts the notion of providing nursing care to families and family
members (Braun & Foster, 2011). Nurses have realized what an important role that families can
play in promoting positive health outcomes by getting them involved in patient care. With that said
families are seen in the context as how the nurse sees them and works with them. There are several
definitions and concepts of family and they are believed to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The interviews reveal that this new view has not been completely integrated in practice (Sjoblom,
Pejlert, & Asplund, 2004). The family as context is the best method for the patient since they
should be the focus of the problem.
Theory
Florence Nightingale discussed in her notes on nursing several issues that involved the family. She
knows of their importance in getting the family involved in caring for the sick. She mentioned in her
notes, tips on caring for the ill and it also involved the family. Her theory may have been basic and
discussed environmental issues which could be considered a weakness but it also discussed some
strengths which were the importance of family involvement and its relevance to healing themselves.
The families of people with a severe mental illness often carry a heavy burden. Research has shown
that they feel that they are to blame for the disease; they experience sadness, worry, shame and guilt.
The lack of participation reinforces the feeling of being excluded. (Sjoblom, Pejlert, &
Asplund, 2004). Nursing can only continue to assess the need for family involvement and encourage
the families to stay committed with the patients which will help promote healing and increase their
support systems.

My Family Values
My first fundamental value is loyalty. To me, loyalty means being true to your word, giving respect
and providing a reliable support system. The roots of this value stem from the moment I was born.
My mom, 20 and my dad, 22 were both overwhelmed with responsibilities as they handed me from
my aunt, to uncle, to grandparent and sometimes, to the next–door neighbor. These individuals
would watch over me while my parents went to work, school, and various other obligations. My
family members sacrificed hours out of their lives, altered their schedules, and spent money to
benefit my life and the lives of my parents. During my first few years on earth, my parents got
married, received college degrees, and consistently put money in the bank, which they would not
have been able to accomplish without the help of their family members.
The bond between my parents has exposed me to countless examples of loyalty. As I approached 7th
grade, my dad accepted a job offer that asked him to relocate to Portland, Oregon. At the time, my
mom was the owner and head teacher of a preschool in Napa, California. My mom sacrificed her
business that she built from the ground up because she was loyal to my dad and our family.
Throughout my senior year of high school and my freshman year of college, I was in a long–term
relationship and at the end of which I learned what it feels like to have a disloyal partner. Up until
this relationship, I took loyalty for granted; I had yet to be exposed to the true feeling of betrayal.
The feeling of betrayal hurt more than I ever thought it would and now I have to work twice as hard
to trust those who I am intimate with.
I put loyalty into practice by sticking by my boyfriend's side and giving him support when needed. I
do the same with my family members and my friends. I care about my friends, family and boyfriend,
and in a perfect world I could make sure they have everything they need at all times. I sacrifice a lot
of my time and energy to see, converse, and take care of those in my circle of concern. I have
adopted this value because it is a key component to having healthy and strong relationships. I take
this ideology very seriously because human connection is a key component to having a full,

Values Of Family Centered Values
Family–centered principles help professionals recognize that family is the constant in the child's life
and the most crucial source of information about the child. Professionals are required to collaborate
with families and share, what is going on with their child and how they are progressing in the
program. Some values that my family–centered practice will reflect is working with the family to
ensure that they are comfortable with all the decisions being made. In Janice Fialka's, What Matters,
she describes the case conferences she had for Micah and how she wanted 'more' from the EI team.
She states, "I wanted something from the professionals other than their careful assessments and
necessary labels. I knew they cared. [...] But I wanted more from them or something different than
what felt like a firing of labels." (Fialka 1997). I don't want any family that I work with to feel how
Janice felt in that conference. I want to ensure that they not bombarded with labels and let them
digest what is happening and give them a moment to comprehend all that going on. Engaging,
motiving and partnering with families throughout the decision and goal–making process is a very
important value to family–centered practice. Collaboration is the cornerstone of effective early
childhood special education. (Sandall & Schwartz 2008). I value and respect the collaborative
approach that Sandall and Schwartz apply in their book, Building Blocks for Teaching Preschoolers
with Special Needs. They

The Most Important Aspects Of Family Values
Everyone has values that they consider to be the most important aspects of their life. For me, these
values are family and friendship. In many occasions, it is those who have less, but have strong
familial and friendship bonds that seem to be the happiest. Through family bonds and friendship, we
are able to have happy, fulfilling lives that money and success can not quite achieve. In the CASL
building, during the photowalk, I observed my surroundings to find the photos that I took. In the
photos I took, a Macbeth poster and a quinceañera, we can see why I feel that these bonds are of
utmost importance. The Macbeth poster shows that power comes with a price and cannot bring true
happiness through the facial expression and the skull being in the shape of a crown. While the
quinceañera photo shows that having family and friends surrounding you can bring you happiness.
However, the music videos that were viewed in class display different values from my own. In
these, the core values displayed are black empowerment and bringing awareness to discrimination
that the African–American community face as a whole. Although these are vastly important, they do
not connect fully with my values.
In the first photo taken, we are able to see why family and friendship are the most significant values.
The photo is of a quinceañera that is taking place at the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church. In
the photo, we see the girl being blessed by the priest while all of her family and friends watch

Family Values
When people pull up to my brown house in the cul–de–sac, they might not see the family values that
are dwelling within, but the moment they walk through our creaky, sun–stained front door, they will.
Directly after walking inside, a wave of cinnamon attacks your nose and you're blinded by the
cleanliness. If you look up you'll see a refurbished, but tattered plank of wood with the four key
terms we live by in my house. In my mom's curvy calligraphy, you read, "God, Family, Friends, and
Go Packers." To anyone who walks through our front door, they might not understand the extent to
which this goes, but my family and I know the importance and value that it has. Back home in
Wisconsin, my family lived our lives based off that motto. Minus the "Go Packers" part of that
motto, I can recall three moments that perfectly resemble "God, Family, Friends."
God. My mom has always told my siblings and me that God is our number one priority. Ever since I
was younger, my mom always listened to KLOVE on the radio and we went to church every
Sunday, all together. I can remember one time, when I was on a confirmation retreat as a senior
leader, where my faith was changed and I felt my church become more of my family. It was mid–
December and we headed to the confirmation retreat center out in the farmland of East Troy,
Wisconsin. Shockingly, for it was mid–December, there was no snow on the ground. I put in my
earbuds and was taken aback at the first song that came on. I had never heard it

Value Of Family Essay
The concept of family can often be seen as the foundation a person is made upon. Everyone has a
family whether it's an actual biological family or close friendships that are now considered family.
Many American values can be sourced from family because that's where someone comes from so it
is more than likely that a family shares the same values such as honesty, religion, and equality. It is
generally said that you choose your friends and not your family. This makes the bond between
family members extremely strong to the point of doing anything for a family member or never
losing hope for them. In all three books, The Round House, The Heretic's Daughter, and The Color
Purple, the American value of family is exemplified. Sometimes the bond between a child and their
mother is so secure that when something damages that bond all hell breaks loose. In the novel, The
Round House by Louise Erdrich, Joe's mother, Geraldine, is attacked by an unknown person and
almost burned alive before she could escape her attacker. This event shakes the whole reservation
Joe's family lives on, especially his direct family. Joe's mother is extremely traumatized from this
event that she suffers from PTSD and isolates herself away from the people that care about her the
most. Because of this, Joe's father, Bazil, and Joe search for any clues to find the attacker and put
him behind bars. The investigation sparks a feeling of revenge in Joe that there is no limit as to how

The concept of family as the client has become an integral part of nursing practice. The American
Nurses Association states that nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and

It is this thinking that nursing continues to strive to assist patients not only achieve their optimal

Integrating these two core concepts is instrumental to the success of family presence.
Family presence is a journey that many emergency departments are starting to embark on. With
many organizations aligning their visions as patient and family centered this journey has to start
with strong leadership. Many healthcare professionals have doubts as to whether or not this is truly
beneficial for the patient's families, and also what legal ramifications does this process have in the
long run. A multidisciplinary team needs to be established early on consisting of; senior
management, legal counsel, clergy, department leadership, physicians, nurses and other key staff.
This key group can work to develop a hospital policy that clearly defines and develops the roles
needed to facilitate a positive experience. Nurses will provide the most "buy in" for this process. It is
important to develop a robust educational plan to support nurses in their roles. Role playing is a
great way to ensure staff competency with this endeavor. Families need to feel that all who invite
them in the room is agreeable to the situation, and that the lines of communication are clear. Role
playing identifies staff that is not supportive of the process, and might need more education to truly
understand the closure it brings to families. All too often families are off in a room

Family Value Of A Normal Family
The question I frequently ask these days, especially after my two children have been diagnosed with
Autism Spectrum Disorder, tends to be: "What is normal?" Growing up, I would consider my family
to be a "normal family." I have a mother and father who have been married for 38 years, and a
younger brother who is three years and four months younger than I. We were the typical four–person
family with one daughter and one son. My mother considered us the "perfect family" since she had
the best of both worlds. To me, this is what a normal family should look like.
One of the most important family value my mother and father taught was to be supportive of one
another, and how to be there for your family. My brother and I were both involved in after school
activities, including baton twirling for me and soccer and baseball for my brother. My mother made
sure we both supported each other by forcing us to attend each other's events. If I attended one of his
baseball games, he was expected to go my twirling competition. My parents modeled their support
for us by showing up to every single extra–curricular function my brother and I had. I remember
always searching for them in a crowd and always being proud to see them there just to watch me
perform.
My father was, and still is, looked to as the leader by not only our immediate family, but also by his
brother and sisters. I know my mother and father worked as a team, but ultimately it felt like my
father was the one

Personal Family Values

  • 1. Personal Family Values Personal and Family Values As I mentioned before my family and I deal a lot with immigration. In fact, just before Trump became president my cousin who was 16 at the time came from El Salvador to the United States illegally and we had to deal with constantly worrying about her because it took months for her to arrive to the U.S. and then she got caught by the immigration police when she was within U.S. borders and we had to then deal with that for a couple months while we gathered the paper work to gain custody of her since she was a minor. Luckily for us things worked out and she is now living with us as we are currently trying to get her residency. For my family and I this is the norm. We are strong believers that everyone deserves a second chance in life to better their lives by getting a better education and moving to a place where it is safer and has better opportunities. When it comes to our religious beliefs, my family and I consider ourselves as Christians, but all of my extended family is Catholic. Growing up that was always confusing to me because with my extended family they believe in godparents and baptisms as babies, and at first that was the norm for parents too because they were originally Catholic, but converted to Christians before my siblings and I were born. My siblings and I basically had to grow up with both religions and I never really knew what religion to consider myself as until I fully understood what both religions really mean. Growing up I ... • 2. What Values I Learned From My Family Growing up with my cultural views gave me access to several important values I learned from my family. These values are very important to me, as they have shaped who I am today. The three most important values for me would be: to be honest, to be myself, and to be respectful. Each value has taught me different perspectives, abilities and given me different qualities. All three values are very important to me, however the most important one would have to be, being honest not just with others but being honest to myself. Everything depends on honesty. If friends, peers, or co–workers aren't being honest with us, we can not trust the person, which leads to not being able to build relationships with one another. If people are not able to build relationships with another human, then the person will not be able to interact with a society. Lies will often hurt those who you told them to. Being honest has shaped by own perspectives because I want people to trust me and I want people to be honest with me as well. This will lead to building relationships with many other people. The next value I learned from my family is to be myself. This means I should stick to my own values and to do what makes me happy and not to be swayed by peer pressure. This value has been shaped by my culture and experiences because my parents have given me freedom to do what I want to do. My family did not force me to go to a certain school or to get a certain degree to be just like them, instead my family ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. My Family Values The American family has many different functions, all equally important, but I believe one that is crucial in our world is teaching children how to be kind. I believe that kindness is a learned trait, and that human beings are born cruel. Children can be especially cruel before they are taught how to be kind to others. For example, in my elementary school I drew a picture that I thought was rather good, and I gave it to my teacher. When I came back from lunch I was horrified to find out that a boy in my class had added a vulgar addition and had ruined my paper. The boy thought it was funny and he seemed shocked when I started to cry. This experience made me believe that children don't know when they act cruelly, and that they have to be taught how to be kind. Most of that teaching comes from their home. Of course, school plays an important role in this as well. School teaches lessons on sharing, asking politely, and how to resolve conflict; however, those lessons are more on how to interact appropriately with others in a society. Children usually learn how to actually be kind from their parents and older siblings, and if they don't learn kindness they might resort to bullying other children in school because that is all they have been taught. I have observed how my family and interactions with my siblings have taught me kindness, and because I was taught to be kind, I believe that it is important for all families to teach their children how to be kind. • 4. Family : The Value Of The Family In The Movie Family is the one thing that will stick by you through good and bad no matter what. With family you have a bond that can never be broken. Though we may get tired at parents nagging or bossing us around, they do it for the better. They have been through a lot more than we have and probably have done what we are going to do. The Gladiator is a very good example of because of all the misfortunes that happens with family throughout the movie. Sometimes they let us learn on our own to teach us a lesson. That's how life is, and just because they nag doesn't mean they do not love us it is because they care. Caring is what makes someone feel loved. Love is what makes us feel wanted. To have someone love and care for us is something lots of people take for granted because family can be gone in the blink of an eye. Then others could argue you have people who leave for no reason. Family is the most important thing in life because having people to experience life with makes it a lot better. Though we may take it for granted when we are younger, we start to accept that it would be lonely not having someone to enjoy life with. As we get older we start to appreciate what we were given. Even though families get in fights at the end of the day everyone still loves everyone. From this image depicted in the previous slide is a family who is happy. When we are young we always want mom or dad and as we grow up we go into a stage where we barely want anything to do with parents. Parents having ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. My Family : Personal Values : A Family As A Family Topic A We are a family of four: my mom, my dad, my sister and I. Passed down from generation to generation, the values of commitment, respect, and faith have been instilled in my life by my parents. Throughout my childhood, my parents have shaped the way I look at the world by teaching me lessons and guiding me to the right path. Both my mom and my dad have displayed loyalty to our family in countless ways. Born in Tamaulipas, Mexico, my mom moved to Texas when she became an orphan. Due to cancer, she lost both of her parents at the age of 13 and was adopted by a family who resided in Brownsville, Texas. Listening to my mom share her stories of her hardships made me realize how strong she really was. Although my mom experienced such difficult times at a young age, I quickly learned my mom stayed committed to her parents even though they were no longer there to support her. She shared such descriptive stories and insightful lessons about my grandparents, thus engendering an environment of faith and devotion around my sister and me. In spite of the fact that I didn't get to meet my grandparents, they will always be held in my heart because of what I acquired from my mom. While my mom's history shows her commitment, my dad's job as a salesman and his hard work ethic shows his. Due to his occupation, my dad traveled a lot and was not always around when I was younger, but he made a point to show he cared. Since my dad worked a lot, this placed a symbol of determination in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Dominican Family Values It's no doubt that culture and family values play a significant role in the self–discovery process. Often times, these social constructs can influence goals, beliefs and values. Life as a Dominican is one that is built on strong family value, religion, morality and work ethic. Growing up in a Dominican family, I can remember my parents instilling strong moral values such as being honest and respecting one another while emphasizing the need for hard work and education. Much of my outlook on life can be attributed to the Dominican values of family, discipline and values taught to me throughout my childhood and adolescence. Family Structure Family structure in the Dominican Republic is shaped very traditional in views and gender roles. Typically, men are held in high reverence within the home while women take on supporting roles. Men often hold the title of "head–of–household" while women hold domestic roles such a taking care of the household and rearing children (Howard, 1997; Vazquez, 2005). Children are often taught to respect their elders and to be obedient. As parents, Dominicans tend to be very protective of their children and typically demand strict compliance (Vazquez, 2005, p. 223). Even though the expected roles of husband, wife and children follow common structures of the traditional household, the typical family is far from nuclear. Household are typically compound consisting of grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins (Vasquez, 2005, p. 217). Families are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. My Values In My Family Throughout life, our values change and grow. At a young age, we value our toys and material possessions. But, as we mature, our values take on a different role, a more substantial meaning. What I value most at this point in my life is family and friends. My family is what i value most and my friends I count them as my family too but if they were with me since pre–kinder and never done anything bad to me or me to them so we could of stayed together from the past until now. Since I was in Kazen Elementary I was always on my own never really talked to anyone but I did had friends. Although, just like every little kid likes to hang out with the cool kids instead of the kid being bullied so they won't get bullied. However, it didn't bothered me because after school; my friends and I always get together and play video games or play outside. Yet, in fourth and fifth grade is when everybody started to not be around me no more, talk to me, and even my friends. Who I thought they were my friends but really they were just being bullies all the time. When I entered middle school there was some people being bullied including myself. So, I made some choices in my life either do something with myself or just stay the same as who I am. I used to be a fat kid and that was easy for people to call me names. Nor, little that they know I started exercising with my cousin everyday in the United Campus and always pushed myself to not look like I used to look before. After that, people see me in ... • 8. The Society Places A Lot Of Value On Family Values The society places a lot of value on family values. The term refers to the desirable qualities that are required for a good existence with other family members. The values include love, loyalty, high moral standards and trust. The political class and other leaders are expected to demonstrate a keen awareness of family values. In this book, Richard Rodriguez endeavors to redefine the concept of family values. "The text challenges the traditional beliefs of good family values" (Rodriguez 258). The text focuses on homosexuality and the effect that it is having on families. In addition, it also evaluates the role of working mothers. The text portrays modern life where parents have to deal with gay children and couples have to decide if the woman should work. An evaluation of the text and my personal life reveals that family values involve the willingness to confront personal challenges together. An evaluation of my personal life reveals a lot of similarities with the text. For instance, my mother had to decide if she should go back to work a few years ago. I come from a close knit family that strives to demonstrate a willingness to communicate with one another. Consequently, my father called a meeting to discuss the issue. In solving the problem, we had to consider a number of factors. First, the feelings of the person in question. My mother believed that she would be happier and more fulfilled if she continued with her career. She had quit her job as a marketer in order to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Family Values Essay values. A complete family makes the individual self reliant, honest, caring and happy. Good parent's rare good human personage e. Abusive parents often produce human personalities who feel that they are worthless, unlovable and inadequate. Similarly parents who invest a lot of emotional and mental resources often produce stable, responsible personage. Parents are the main influence on a human's personality development. Human being's want only the love of their parents and it gives satisfaction at every stage. But when individual don't get love from any of the parent, it adversely affects on individual's personality and always lives in a distressful condition. The intense meaning of family relations for almost everyone has been observed throughout history. Philosophers and social analysts have noted that any society is a structure made up of families linked together. The family is made–up of individuals, but it is also a social unit, and part of larger network. Over the decades, social scientists have struggled in their efforts to define the multidimensional concept of family. Below are some definitions that will give clear cut meaning that what actually family is? Most social research into the family has had an immediate moral purpose, to eliminate deviations like divorce, desertion, illegitimacy, and adultery rather than a desire to understand the fundamental nature of social institutions. In this sense the family seems socially unimportant. It is only the pattern of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even when a patient in the intensive care unit has an opportunity for a positive outcome there are difficult decisions, difficult messages, and difficult conversations to be had. According to a study completed by Caroline Williams; the family plays a larger role than providing information about the individual; including emotional support to the patient, and a positive psychological effect (Williams, 2005). In the situation which a family members health is compromised to the level that they need to be in the intensive care unit, not only does the family need to come together to serve as a support for the patient, but also a support for one another. As health care providers one must serve a role in this process as well. According to Damboise and Cardin, the family's needs include; information, reassurance, support, and the need to be near the patient (2003). Family Nursing Theory Orem's Self Care Model of Nursing involves the understanding that patients not only have the ability, but also the right, and responsibility to care for themselves (Clark, 1986). One believes that Orem's model is important in the intensive care setting, often–times we rely too heavily on the families and support personnel, and forget to rely on the theoretical ... • 11. Family And Familial Values Family values, sometimes referred to as Familial values, are traditional or cultural values (that is, values passed on from generation to generation within families) that pertain to the family's structure, function, roles, beliefs, attitudes, and ideals. In the social sciences, sociologists may use the term "traditional family" in order to refer specifically to the child–rearing environment that sociologists formerly called the norm. This "traditional family" involves a middle–class family with a breadwinner father and a homemaker mother, raising their biological children. Any deviation from this family model is considered a "nontraditional family". Nontraditional families, nevertheless, make up the majority of American households, as of now. According to Oxford English Dictionary, family values means: [n.] values attributed to or derived from family life; [spec.] values allegedly learnt or reinforced within a traditional, close family ... Filial appeared in Zhou Dynasty (1046B.C.– 256B.C.), and the original meaning is respecting ancestry, repayment and raising up children. In "Book of Filial Piety", the moral values that reflect family–child relationship had been fully politicized. Confucianism had been used to run a country and teach all the literati since the Western Han Dynasty (206B.C.–A.D.24). Its dominance had lasted for few thousand years until the May 4th Movement of 1919. But, nowadays, Chinese students still need to learn some part of the Confucianism since their childhood. This makes the Confucianism still has a great influence on political, economy, ideology, etc. As the core part of the Confucianism, Filial culture has been developing for few centuries, and has rooted in Chinese daily ... • 12. Value My Family I was born in a family that is very connected. My family would help each other in many ways including help in homework, tests, quizzes, keeping the house in shape order and so on. The most important thing in my life is my family. The reason why I value my family so much is because they help me in my everyday life. My brother helps me with school, my sister helps me in writing my essays, and my mother and father keep the house clean and stable. If I didn't have such a family, I would not be the person I am today. What I value the most in my life is my family. The reason why I value my family is because they help me go through life, guiding me through life's challenges. For example, regarding school, my older sister and my brother help teach me things that I didn't understand. For example, when I began writing important pieces in ELA including essays, my sister laid out the basic outline for an essay. Then my brother would check my essay for grammar mistakes, improper tense or sloppy wording. My brother also helps me out in math and science. He recently began helping me out in math and science as soon as I began Manhattan Village Academy. My brother would teach me concepts in math that he is learning in geometry at school. • 14. Value Of Family The Value of Family I had the privilege to meet Nyssa Baker and learn that her most important value is family. According to a reference entry titled Family, "Family generally refers to a group of people related to one another by birth, marriage, or adoption" (Funk, 2016). This does not exclude extended family, such as aunts, uncles, and cousins. Even the people that are not related can be considered family. Families come in every shape and size, they have strong relationships, and unique traditions. First off, every family is different, one size doesn't fit all. The common family that includes a mother, a father, and children is a "nuclear family" according to the reference entry titled Family. In today's world, there are a variety of different families each one being unique in some aspect. There are extended families, single parent families, blended families, empty nest families, and consensual union. While a nuclear family includes a mother, a father, and children, extended family typically means that there are three or more generations that live in the same house according to the reference entry. An example of this would be when my aunt lived with my family for the last few years of college. A blended family is where two people get married and they each have their own children from previous relationships. Empty nest families could be what many of our parents are facing. Empty nest means that the children are out of the house. Consensual union might be the one term that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Essay about Family Values When raising a child one is taught values by their families that they feel are important for their child to have. I believe that family values consist of certain actions and qualities that are important to a family to uphold. Values that are important in my family are honesty, trust and to have respect for others. Each of these values is equally important in my family. They played a big role into making me the person I am now. Growing up in my family taught me that honesty is the best policy. When I would get into trouble as a child I would often try to lie to my mom thinking that would save me from being punished. Respect is an important value to be taught when growing up. Through the years I have learned that in order to learn anything you must have respect for others. I have learned many valuable lessons from listening to my grandmother. She has told me many of her experiences, which has made me a better person. Having respect for other people has allowed me to be more open–minded and see qualities in people that most would not. I have always listened to what my friends and family has to say. That doesn't always mean that I agree with them, but it is their opinion, so I respect it. In return I receive respect from them. As people begin to respect me more their trust in me also grows. Trust is a value that was very hard for me to learn. I was always afraid that someone was going to hurt me one way or another. My mother was always telling me that I should learn to trust others so that they could help me from time to time, but I never could do it. Eventually I finally learned to trust others a few years ago. I have realized that other people can do many things for you if you just trust in them. This helps me in the relationships I have with my friends. Trust doesn't happen overnight, it takes time. I have learned that trusting certain people is worth the risk, and helps the relationships I have with them. All values that families instill in their children are important. • 16. Family Values Essay Like many, I was raised in a family whose beliefs and morals were of high standing. I was able to avoid numerous situations that otherwise could have proved fatal to my mental, physical, and spiritual state. However, while my situation allowed me to grow up in a relatively safe environment, others of my associate were not so fortunate. One friend of mine in particular grew up in a household where their moral standards and beliefs caused much confusion and pain in her life. Besides participating in alcoholic parties, having lower dress standards, and reviling in acts of dishonesty, my friend also had a habit of sleeping around. In grade six she fell pregnant and, while I do not know all the details, she had to skip most of her schooling that year. This is only a short glimpse of what was in store for her, as she battled family issues by participating in drinking and sexual activities in order to escape family issues. While drinking on its own is detrimental to one's health, the act in participating in sexual activities and lowering ones moral standards is even more detrimental, both to the individual and their family. Thus the necessity or morality incorporates the roles of both parents and children within the family to stay morally clean. The role of parents in the family unit is vital; they are the ones that set the example for future generations to follow. As parents, each role is unique and well prepared to suit their children with their best characteristics as mothers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Family And Family Arrangements And Values From There to Here Family Is The Definition of family, is relative, no pun intended. It depends on your background and experiences. Family can be friends or blood relatives, it can mean many different things to everyone. But most importantly I think it means support, you should consider to be a part of your family anyone who supports the decisions that you make, and doesn't judge you for them. This can include friends, and family. It's important to decide for yourself what matters most to you, and to no longer rely on the outdated ideas of the past. Stephanie Coontz (2010) said "Family arrangements and values continue to differ by social class, religion, race, and ethnicity." (p. 46) A Little Background I grew up poor but not destitute in rural East Texas. My father was the 3rd youngest in a family of eleven kids, my grandfather, Neal McDaniel was a cotton farmer, not long after my father was born in 1958 he quit farming and my grandma Thelma McDaniel went to work at a lumber factory. My father's family was poor. However, my grandpa was able to purchase enough land to give each of his kids something to call their own, this is where I lived the first eighteen years of my life in a house that my father built. • 18. The Values Of A Family What is a family? What parts make up a family? These two questions are questions that millions of adults and children ask themselves regularly. When people think about a family in their head they think of a nuclear family. Where you have a Mom, Dad, and a few kids running around a home in the middle of a suburban wasteland. That is the nuclear family that I feel most modern families strive to be like. But factors can change within a family and still be a family. I do not believe that a family is strictly based off what people see from the front porch looking in. A family is about the everlasting bond that is formed between a group of people whether they are related by blood or by other means. A family is a group of people who stick together during hard times and good times, they laugh together and they cry together. They eat meals together, party together, are weaved together in life. They are like a strip of palm leaves, and when you weave a bunch of them together it makes a basket, that is a family. The people that someone can call at two in the morning on a Wednesday just because they can't sleep. The ones who would sacrifice anything to help them. The bond can never be broken because the word "family" holds them together like glue to wallpaper. Now, let's talk about what values are when it comes to a Family. In a family you can find some major parts that make a family have an identity like, social, political, religious, and work values. These values give a family a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Family Values And Values Family Values What influences you to do what you do? For me, that's my family. They drive me to better myself and to always learn more. I'm always trying to better myself for them. I would like to set a good example for my younger cousins, be able to provide for my parents, and I want to be able to help provide for future generations; I feel the best way to accomplish this is to further my education. I try to make my actions reflect this, and the farther I go on this long road, that is my education, the more I accomplish this. I come from a big family, as my mom is the youngest of eight, therefore I have a lot of cousins, and those cousins have children of their own, thus I have a lot of younger cousins that look up to me. My family, as big as it is, is still a close–knit family. We are all considerably involved in each other's lives. It would be an outlier for us if anyone of us goes longer than 2 days without seeing or talking to someone else in the family. I try to help my younger cousins and guide them in the right direction. I even tutor one of my cousins for her math class. I have a younger second cousin, who is like a mini me, that I want to set a good example for. Sometimes when she plays pretend, she pretends to be me. I have even given her one of my old name tags from work, and it's now her favorite thing in her dress up bin. So, I feel that if she's following my footsteps, I want to lead her in a good direction. I want the world for her, and while I'm trying my best to give her that, she still deserves more. Because of how she strong and brave she has been in her life with all of her medical problems, I often feel like she is my role model. Yet, she has decided that I am her role model, thus I have to step it up for her. If you had a young child who parrots what you say and do, wouldn't that change what you say and do? Wouldn't you treat everyone better? Wouldn't you try harder to be a better person, at least for them? When I was younger, my dad emphasized the importance of education. Another way to create family values is to talk to your children on a regular basis so they are able to express themselves. While reading the article "Defining Your Family Values", it gave suggestions such as meeting up with your family at least once a week to express your feelings and hardships in your life. This article went into detail about how we have 3 essential parts of life: work, play, and love. Our life can become stressful when we focus on one more than the other. The most common place children learn family values is when they are spending time with their family. Family is the first group of people a child comes into contact with so the child's family is ultimately the people who teach them the most. Children also learn their values through seeing what their family values most, and through learning life lessons and overcoming them. Once they get sent off to preschool, teachers are in charge of being their role model. If they are taught no values, then they could possibly come into class and show their peers negative behavior and their peers might be influenced. From the articles I read, one topic that was very interesting to me was the fact that you have to set a good example in order for them to follow along. I think that is interesting because for the first few years of their life children learn by seeing things around them. So if their family repeatedly does something wrong, it influences the child. I also thought that it was interesting that the same article talked about how children used to be treated before they knew anything about child development. Recently, we do not have that "protected" age anymore because of social media. Children are being exposed to things they should not be exposed to. I am Hispanic, so we come from a very family oriented culture, thus making family the utmost significant value. We have a great sense of unity that goes beyond the immediate family (parents and siblings) and includes the extended family (grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins) and close friends. Having a strong work ethic is a value I have inherited from my parents. From an early age, my parents have told me, "You never get anywhere unless you work hard for it". That kind of mentality has stayed with me ever since. They believe if you don't work hard at something then you truly don't appreciate it. I have worked hard all my life to get to where I am now and I continue to work to get to where I want to be. Integrity and respect are values I keep near and dear to me. I believe that we should always do things with integrity. I believe one must have respect for others and themselves. These values were formed and influenced mainly by my family, ethnicity, culture and environment I was raised in. This set of values have influenced me and shaped the person I am today. Growing up, I was always surrounded with my family whether it was my immediate family or my extended one. My grandparents were like second parents to me and my cousins were my best friends. (Campbell 126) Over the summer, I put my own values above my family's for the first time. This led to my decision to move out and begin crafting my own life by making choices that I give myself. My family would no longer be making my decisions for me. In response, my father felt as though his values should be placed above mine. He was so upset that one of the things he said to me was, "I am extremely disappointed in you." His response only furthered my decision to leave; I had recognized that my personal values were more important than family values. A family is composed of the people who understand a person, why they act the way they do and who they are as a person. When someone thinks of family, what comes to mind friends, mom, dad, aunt or uncle as family. A family is defined as a group consisting of parents and children living together in a household. Family values are defined as values held to be traditionally learned or reinforced within a family, for example, high morals, standards, and discipline. With my family, values are simple. Family comes first, and to treat people like you want to be treated. Family's values are different from other values in that they are not personal. My personal values are not dependent on what my family deems important. They don't pertain to anyone but myself. A single parent is supposed to perform both roles, mother, and father. The parent has to work enough to support their child but not so much that they can't see their parent. My mom was a single parent for me when I was younger we had the belief that there are not gods or goddesses. I had to balance my mother beliefs with a hidden version of my own. I thought about what made us and not want to my mother to be disappointed in me. Raising a kid all by yourself is more complex because they have to have both a soft and firm side. Family values can be very diverse between different cultures. Some of these family values are the way children are raised, discipline, gender roles in the family, and the way families choose to live. Family values are a major part of Haitian culture and they are very important to Haitians. This is my favorite aspect of all of Haitian Culture. For all Haitian families, no matter what class they are a part of, family life is the most important thing. Middle and upper–class Haitian families usually live in urban environments and they practice formal marriages and their family values are more similar to modern American family values. Lower class families have a more informal way of living. Their family environments are more extended family. In all classes, though, family always comes before work or anything else. • 29. Addams Family Values Analyse the relationship between childhood and death in Addams Family Values (1993). Traditionally there are two ways in which the relationship between childhood and death has been represented in film. In the first of these the child is positioned as the powerless and tragic victim of death in line with Romantic ideals of childhood as a time of innocence of purity. The second common narrative of childhood and death 'is an attack on the Romantic idealization of the child', in which the child is the perpetrator of death. The portrayal of children Addams Family Values would appear to align with this narrative of the evil child because it depicts Wednesday and Pugsley scheming to murder their brother. Wednesday appears several times in the film with dolls on which she enacts the violence she wishes to enact on Pubert. Dolls are traditionally used as baby substitutes whom young girls take care of as part of their social conditioning into the role of motherhood. One final example of the relationship between death and play in the film is the trading cards of 'schizos and serial killers' which Joel and Pugsley play with. I mention this example here because it demonstrates yet another way in which Addams Family Values' presentation of death–as–play works to subvert gender stereotypes surrounding violence, namely in its focus on female killers rather than male. There are three women shown on the cards, Lizzie Borden, Amy Fisher and the film's fictional 'Black Widow', each of whom committed a violent crime at odds with 'the public perception of physical violence [as] a masculine form of aggression'. There has been discussion to define what family nursing is and what role family and nursing play in this matter. The consensus is that all definitions have as core concepts the notion of providing nursing care to families and family members (Braun & Foster, 2011). Nurses have realized what an important role that families can play in promoting positive health outcomes by getting them involved in patient care. With that said families are seen in the context as how the nurse sees them and works with them. There are several definitions and concepts of family and they are believed to ... Her theory may have been basic and discussed environmental issues which could be considered a weakness but it also discussed some strengths which were the importance of family involvement and its relevance to healing themselves. The families of people with a severe mental illness often carry a heavy burden. Research has shown that they feel that they are to blame for the disease; they experience sadness, worry, shame and guilt. The lack of participation reinforces the feeling of being excluded. These individuals would watch over me while my parents went to work, school, and various other obligations. My family members sacrificed hours out of their lives, altered their schedules, and spent money to benefit my life and the lives of my parents. During my first few years on earth, my parents got married, received college degrees, and consistently put money in the bank, which they would not have been able to accomplish without the help of their family members. The bond between my parents has exposed me to countless examples of loyalty. As I approached 7th grade, my dad accepted a job offer that asked him to relocate to Portland, Oregon. At the time, my mom was the owner and head teacher of a preschool in Napa, California. My mom sacrificed her business that she built from the ground up because she was loyal to my dad and our family. Throughout my senior year of high school and my freshman year of college, I was in a long–term relationship and at the end of which I learned what it feels like to have a disloyal partner. Up until this relationship, I took loyalty for granted; I had yet to be exposed to the true feeling of betrayal. The feeling of betrayal hurt more than I ever thought it would and now I have to work twice as hard to trust those who I am intimate with. I put loyalty into practice by sticking by my boyfriend's side and giving him support when needed. I do the same with my family members and my friends. I care about my friends, family and boyfriend, and in a perfect world I could make sure they have everything they need at all times. I sacrifice a lot of my time and energy to see, converse, and take care of those in my circle of concern. I have adopted this value because it is a key component to having healthy and strong relationships. I take this ideology very seriously because human connection is a key component to having a full, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Values Of Family Centered Values Family–centered principles help professionals recognize that family is the constant in the child's life and the most crucial source of information about the child. Professionals are required to collaborate with families and share, what is going on with their child and how they are progressing in the program. Some values that my family–centered practice will reflect is working with the family to ensure that they are comfortable with all the decisions being made. In Janice Fialka's, What Matters, she describes the case conferences she had for Micah and how she wanted 'more' from the EI team. She states, "I wanted something from the professionals other than their careful assessments and necessary labels. I knew they cared. [...] But I wanted more from them or something different than what felt like a firing of labels." (Fialka 1997). I don't want any family that I work with to feel how Janice felt in that conference. I want to ensure that they not bombarded with labels and let them digest what is happening and give them a moment to comprehend all that going on. Engaging, motiving and partnering with families throughout the decision and goal–making process is a very important value to family–centered practice. Collaboration is the cornerstone of effective early childhood special education. (Sandall & Schwartz 2008). I value and respect the collaborative approach that Sandall and Schwartz apply in their book, Building Blocks for Teaching Preschoolers with Special Needs. They ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. The Most Important Aspects Of Family Values Everyone has values that they consider to be the most important aspects of their life. For me, these values are family and friendship. In many occasions, it is those who have less, but have strong familial and friendship bonds that seem to be the happiest. Through family bonds and friendship, we are able to have happy, fulfilling lives that money and success can not quite achieve. In the CASL building, during the photowalk, I observed my surroundings to find the photos that I took. In the photos I took, a Macbeth poster and a quinceañera, we can see why I feel that these bonds are of utmost importance. The Macbeth poster shows that power comes with a price and cannot bring true happiness through the facial expression and the skull being in the shape of a crown. While the quinceañera photo shows that having family and friends surrounding you can bring you happiness. However, the music videos that were viewed in class display different values from my own. In these, the core values displayed are black empowerment and bringing awareness to discrimination that the African–American community face as a whole. Although these are vastly important, they do not connect fully with my values. In the first photo taken, we are able to see why family and friendship are the most significant values. The photo is of a quinceañera that is taking place at the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church. In the photo, we see the girl being blessed by the priest while all of her family and friends watch ... • 37. Family Values When people pull up to my brown house in the cul–de–sac, they might not see the family values that are dwelling within, but the moment they walk through our creaky, sun–stained front door, they will. Directly after walking inside, a wave of cinnamon attacks your nose and you're blinded by the cleanliness. If you look up you'll see a refurbished, but tattered plank of wood with the four key terms we live by in my house. In my mom's curvy calligraphy, you read, "God, Family, Friends, and Go Packers." To anyone who walks through our front door, they might not understand the extent to which this goes, but my family and I know the importance and value that it has. Back home in Wisconsin, my family lived our lives based off that motto. Minus the "Go Packers" part of that motto, I can recall three moments that perfectly resemble "God, Family, Friends." God. My mom has always told my siblings and me that God is our number one priority. Ever since I was younger, my mom always listened to KLOVE on the radio and we went to church every Sunday, all together. I can remember one time, when I was on a confirmation retreat as a senior leader, where my faith was changed and I felt my church become more of my family. It was mid– December and we headed to the confirmation retreat center out in the farmland of East Troy, Wisconsin. Shockingly, for it was mid–December, there was no snow on the ground. I put in my earbuds and was taken aback at the first song that came on. I had never heard it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Value Of Family Essay The concept of family can often be seen as the foundation a person is made upon. Everyone has a family whether it's an actual biological family or close friendships that are now considered family. Many American values can be sourced from family because that's where someone comes from so it is more than likely that a family shares the same values such as honesty, religion, and equality. It is generally said that you choose your friends and not your family. This makes the bond between family members extremely strong to the point of doing anything for a family member or never losing hope for them. In all three books, The Round House, The Heretic's Daughter, and The Color Purple, the American value of family is exemplified. Sometimes the bond between a child and their mother is so secure that when something damages that bond all hell breaks loose. In the novel, The Round House by Louise Erdrich, Joe's mother, Geraldine, is attacked by an unknown person and almost burned alive before she could escape her attacker. This event shakes the whole reservation Joe's family lives on, especially his direct family. Joe's mother is extremely traumatized from this event that she suffers from PTSD and isolates herself away from the people that care about her the most. Because of this, Joe's father, Bazil, and Joe search for any clues to find the attacker and put him behind bars. The investigation sparks a feeling of revenge in Joe that there is no limit as to how far he will go to get his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Family Values In Nursing Family Values Paper Family Values Paper The concept of family as the client has become an integral part of nursing practice. Integrating these two core concepts is instrumental to the success of family presence. Family presence is a journey that many emergency departments are starting to embark on. With many organizations aligning their visions as patient and family centered this journey has to start with strong leadership. Many healthcare professionals have doubts as to whether or not this is truly beneficial for the patient's families, and also what legal ramifications does this process have in the long run. A multidisciplinary team needs to be established early on consisting of; senior management, legal counsel, clergy, department leadership, physicians, nurses and other key staff. This key group can work to develop a hospital policy that clearly defines and develops the roles needed to facilitate a positive experience. Nurses will provide the most "buy in" for this process. It is important to develop a robust educational plan to support nurses in their roles. Role playing is a great way to ensure staff competency with this endeavor. Families need to feel that all who invite them in the room is agreeable to the situation, and that the lines of communication are clear. Role playing identifies staff that is not supportive of the process, and might need more education to truly understand the closure it brings to families. All too often families are off in a room ... • 40. Family Value Of A Normal Family The question I frequently ask these days, especially after my two children have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, tends to be: "What is normal?" Growing up, I would consider my family to be a "normal family." I have a mother and father who have been married for 38 years, and a younger brother who is three years and four months younger than I. We were the typical four–person family with one daughter and one son. My mother considered us the "perfect family" since she had the best of both worlds. To me, this is what a normal family should look like. One of the most important family value my mother and father taught was to be supportive of one another, and how to be there for your family. My brother and I were both involved in after school activities, including baton twirling for me and soccer and baseball for my brother. My mother made sure we both supported each other by forcing us to attend each other's events. If I attended one of his baseball games, he was expected to go my twirling competition. My parents modeled their support for us by showing up to every single extra–curricular function my brother and I had. I remember always searching for them in a crowd and always being proud to see them there just to watch me perform. My father was, and still is, looked to as the leader by not only our immediate family, but also by his brother and sisters. I know my mother and father worked as a team, but ultimately it felt like my father was the one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
