• Our city is beautiful but
unfortunately there are
some problems like the
air pollution (the most
dangerous problem in
Catania) that destroys
every day citizens and
their health!

volcanic activity ,and human actions like vehicular
pollution. the most dangerous problem in
our city because the citizens use vehicles even for
short moves across the city. There are other
causes but fortunately there are also solutions :

Frequent use of private vehicles, production of
energy from fossil fuels, industrial processes,
fuel distribution, space heating, agricultural
activities and livestock, use of paints, glues
and solvents at home and in industry are the
main causes of the emission of pollutants into
the atmosphere.

7. The solutions
The town of Catania, seeing the tragic situation that
surrounds us, has made ​​some decisions :
• Facilitate and reduce traffic congestion especially in
the historic center;
• Promotion and dissemination of the concepts of
sustainable mobility by reducing the use of cars;
• Promotion of awareness campaigns in schools for the
environment for the emergence of environmental
consciousness and an awareness of environmental
protection.
