Corporate Social Responsibility And Corporate Ethics Essay
Corporate social responsibility has become a major issue in the recent past to the extent in which
there are watchdog organizations that monitor actions of corporations and file a report indicating
companies that aren't socially responsible. Such organizations are known as sustainability auditing
firms (Gallagher, 2012). This has made most of the companies that are growing to issue corporate
social responsibility reports alongside their annual business reports. Citigroup is a financial service
company that has been able to do this with other companies. In fact, it should be noted that
Citigroup, Inc. is the world's largest financial service corporations with a revenue base of over 130
billion dollars (MacDonald, 2011). Citigroup, Inc. has appeared in the list of Forbes 100 and was
been rated in 2007 as one of the most responsible top 50 companies. The company employs more
than 300000 employees today. Hence, this paper will look at the extent to which Citigroup, Inc. has
put in place responsible practices and corporate ethics and how they account for the influence of
their stakeholder's actions (Carroll & Buchholtz, 2010).
The four components of Corporate Sustainability Model are: inputs, processes, outputs and the
outcomes. Basically, Citigroup, Inc. has incorporated their sustainability model to suit the four
components through initiatives such as supporting the need for curbing climate change, protection of
human rights and providing assistance to families facing

Income Statements And The Financial Records Of Any Company
Finance Essay
Income Statements
Income statements are an important element crucial to the financial records of any company. Any
profit making organization is expected to have records containing its income statements. Income
statements are normally recorded annually at the end of a specific financial period. The major
purpose of an income statement is to show stakeholders of the company such as managers and
investors whether the company made a profits or losses in the period being reported. This
performance analysis provided by the income statements can help managers come up with strategies
to improve on profitability and growth of the company (Alexander and Jorissen 2005).

The fixed assets include land, fittings and equipment and plants. The current assets on the other
hand include cash, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses and inventories. Current assets are assets
that can be easily be converted into cash whereas fixed assets are assets that last more than one
financial period and are used to generate current assets (Alexander and Jorissen 2005).
There are three different accounts that comprise of owners' equity section in the balance sheet.
These are paid–in–capital, retained earnings and treasury stock. These give more information on the
shareholders' shares and contributions regarding the company (Williamson et al 2008).
Cash Flow Statements
Another key financial record for any profit making organization is the statement of cash flows. It is
a financial statement that shows how changes in the balance sheet accounts and income affect cash
and cash equivalents. It also breaks down the analysis to operating, investing and financing activities
within a given organization (Williams et al 2008).
The three key sections of a cash flow statement are the operating, investing and financing activities.
The operating activities section of a statement of cash flows indicates how much cash comes from
sales of the company's goods and services, less the amount of capital needed to make and sell these
goods and services. This is a key section for investors and prefer companies with a positive cash
flow from operating activities. The investing section

FEASIBILITY STUDY
Feasibility reports describe one or more design solutions to a specific problem and determine if the
proposed solution is practical and feasible. Preferably, more than one solution is offered, in which
case the report compares the various designs and determines which option is best. Design and
feasibility reports are essentially the same type of document, differing only in the amount of
emphasis placed on practical and economic viability of the design in comparison with other possible
solutions. A design report, often very similar to an internal proposal, focuses on describing one
specific implementation. A feasibility study, on the other hand, also emphasizes the investigation
and comparison of alternative solutions. Design reports and feasibility reports are crucial for
decision making and product development in almost any technical organization. They document an
engineer's thinking through a solution to a problem, a description of the solution, and the reasons
why that solution should be implemented. Managers need accurate and comprehensive feasibility
and design reports to decide where to commit scarce resources. In addition, an accurate and
comprehensive design report helps in developing other documents, such as formal proposals,
specifications, and work plans.

Corporate Social Responsibility : Csr
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is something that affects all companies and should be an
active factor in the company's decision making. It is something all corporations need to care about.
CSR is when business' or corporations take part in an initiative or campaign for a cause that will
benefit society and/or in some way make the world a better place (Taylor, 2015). Initially, Corporate
Social Responsibility started to take shape around the 1950's, but some say that it dates all the way
back to the 1800s, the idea of CSR was seen (Carroll, 2007). One may think that because it is dated
so long ago, it doesn't have an important impact today nevertheless, it is proven that Corporate
Social Responsibility is a pathway for entities to self benefit as they are in the process of benefitting
society.
Introduction to CSR
In todays time, there are quite a few companies that practice Corporate Social Responsibility,
including Campbell's. Since the 21st century they have been practicing CSR (From Soup to ...
Corporate Social Responsibility: Campbell's Efforts to Lead the Way, 2009). "We aspire to be
leaders in corporate social responsibility and sustainability. It's an effort that begins at the highest
leadership levels of our own company." (Campbell's, 2015). To this day, Campbell's continuously
maintains positive relationships and goals with customers, stakeholders, and even employees
(Campbell's, 2015). Campbell initially came to be in around 1869 (From Soup to... Way, 2009).

Why Do Companies Use Tax Records
Records pertaining to employment, earnings, and taxes withheld can all be questioned by the IRS
and be audited if any red flags are raised. This shouldn't be a cause for concern if you keep good
records and can prove whatever information was claimed on the forms. The general rule is to keep
tax records for 3 years, but 5 is probably a safer number when it comes to individuals. Keep in mind
that other entities may require information from tax forms including, insurance companies and credit
lenders. Having the documents on hand is smarter and more convenient than hunting down and/or
requesting copies from the IRS sometime in the future. On the other hand, a company should store
tax records indefinitely. The digital age has made this task simpler and less space consuming.
When and if the time comes to destroy old documents, be sure that the forms are shredded with a
crosscut shredder, or digital information is stored using software that is protected ... Show more

Companies and individuals with a business should store other important documents for the duration
of the existence. These documents can include, but a re not limited to permits, agreements,
contracts, lease and rental agreements, stock information, and mortgage documents, even if the
mortgage has been paid in full. Having these documents stored safely means you can retrieve any
pertinent information needed, provide proof with documentation if necessary, and have a complete
record of the history of the company.
Managing Data
There are many arguments for and against any type of medium that can be implemented to store and
manage data and records. Each medium has its positive characteristics and its drawbacks. The best
record keepers use more than one method to store data, mainly as a backup in case of a catastrophe.
This is where the old adage, "it's better to be safe than sorry" takes on a greater significance.

employees to bring their own smartphones and laptop to their work place which in return allow them
to work and connect to the company network. This is relatively a new approach to technology. We
have both advantages and disadvantages in using BYOD process.

 The first greatest advantage is it improves the productivity.
 Also it helps employees to work anytime they wish for as they have company network access to

Wal–Mart Case Study
Case Review and Recommendations
As we have reviewed and studied the strategy, culture, finances and the challenges and successes at
Wal–Mart, there are many strategies we see that the company must undertake to hold its dominate
position and drive further growth. Herein, we define our top four. These core strategies include:
rebuild and recreate its reputation in the face of recent challenges; continue to show price
leadership; improve the customer experience; and drive international growth. The financial
performance of Wal–Mart ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Further validation can be found in a recent report (written in May 2007) by the company's former
advertising agency, GSD&M. This report plainly states "Wal–Mart's #1 overall business challenge is
reputation." Among the conclusions, the report states "(a) Wal–Mart's consumer ratings as a
"company I trust and respect" have steadily declined over the last two years, and (b) Shopping at
Wal–Mart used to mean saving money and being patriotic, being a member of the community, being
a part of the "American Dream." Today, it just means saving money. All value – no values"
(Kofinis).
So, with this challenge facing the company, there are several areas where the company can apply
focus and action to help recreate and strengthen its reputation. Our recommendations for this
strategic objective are:
 Ensure that "associates" are compensated fairly and receive proper benefits. Put programs in place
to improve healthcare coverage for the workers in the stores and throughout the distribution
network. Sam Walton's insistence at the formation of the company on treating employees as
partners, or associates, was heralded for years. This approach to managing must be reinforced
through new benefits and compensation

British Petroleum has a large operation in the United States and it has made investments to ensure

The facility's management should have ensured that proper maintenance was being conducted on all
their equipment, especially the pipelines. If there was a company requirement for inspections, not
conducting them represents an unethical decision by management (Jennings, 2012). If the problem
had been brought up by employees and management failed to make the right decision, it is still not
ethical. These were glaring problems management refused to address. The further problem of BP's
overall management not enforcing company policy means that there is a culture of unethical
decision making where economics gains far outweigh the adherence to safety regulations (BP's
Troubled Past, 2010). With BP renting the rig from Transocean for $500,000 per day, the company
was sharing liability with Transocean as well. Transocean would be held liable according to the
provisions of the contract that the two companies signed. Because the law of vicarious liability is
very vague, BP cannot distance itself from liability and responsibility through the use of a contractor
(Conn, 2009). The provisions of the contract should have stated exactly what BP would be
responsible for, and what Transocean would be responsible for. That said, Conn (2009) pointed out
several factors that come into play when sharing liability and addressed the problem with the
following points:

Business Organization Shareholders vs Social Responsibility
ABSTRACT
In this essay, I am going to prove that a business organization should be socially responsible in a
successful or an effective manner which will eventually benefit the company's owners or

organization engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility ("CSR"). The effects that will be shown in
this essay would be an increase and decrease in the company's expenses, sustaining and harming the
environment, increase and decrease in sales and customers, improve the lives of people inside and

They practice being socially responsible and encourage their clients to do so as well by signing with
their company. The companies Director of Sustainability, Garratt Hasenstab said that their clients are
willing to work with them because the company is focused on creating a healthier and productive
world (Thorpe, 2013).
Companies can also change a certain process or activity in their production to reduce their
greenhouse gas emissions. An example of this is Cisco, a manufacturing company of network
equipment. The company's vision is to reduce greenhouse gas emission in each of their business
functions and processes to build environmental sustainability. After 5 years, they were able to reduce
the greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent, save $500,000 from reducing their business travels, and
through the use of well–known collaborative tools, they were able to increase its revenue by 30
percent (Cisco Systems Inc., 2014). This illustrates that companies practicing CSR can reduce
expenses and increase sales after a certain amount of years after the implementation of CSR which

they stand for. Aims are the long term plan from which companies derives its objectives. why the
company exit, and tell three important factors to the public . Mission statement describes three

Open Supplier Network
Introduction
Founded in 1999, Perfect Commerce provides buyers and suppliers the opportunity to make
transactions electronically by applying On–Demand spend management solutions. With over 500
clients, 200,000 users, and 11,500 suppliers, the company ranks as the leading On–Demand SRM
solutions provider (Anonymous 2007C). Clients come from an extremely wide range of industries:
chemicals, retail, energy, financial services, food products, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing,
technology, and transportation (Anonymous 2007D).
Perfect Commerce relies heavily on acquisitions and business partnerships to accelerate growth.
Most recently, the company purchased Commerce One, one of the pioneering companies in e–
commerce (Anonymous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the business may appear to be growing, because of other companies being purchased, overall
performance of the company may be falling, but it may not be evident from the financial statements.
Because The OSN is an ON–Demand computing model, there is always a risk that the system could
be down. Should this occur, clients and suppliers alike would be unable to gain access to the
network. Also, it is very difficult to find information regarding post–2005 developments in The OSN
(with the exception of Commerce One being acquired in early 2006). As a result, it is possible that
the software reached its peak in 2005. Should this be true, it is unlikely that Perfect Commerce is
adding new suppliers to the network, and therefore, clients are not getting the entire array of options
when looking for products. However, as stated earlier, this idea stems only from the fact that
information is not readily available for developments after 2005.
Opportunities
With just over 500 clients, the company has plenty of room to increase its customer base. With its
long list of highly esteemed partners, it would appear that the company has considerable growth
potential. While there may not be extensive evidence that Perfect Commerce has taken advantage of
this potential, the opportunity still exists. Also, if The OSN can continue to build its catalogue of
SKUs, which seems feasible as new suppliers are emerging each year, more and more companies
will gain

Don DeLillo's White Noise novel and Malcolm Gladwell's...
Don DeLillo's novel, White Noise revolves around the life of Jack, a Hitler Studies scholar at
College–on–the–Hill. The characters within the novel all want to involve themselves with the events
in an industrial American society. Jack and his fourth spouse, Babette are characterized by their
love, fear of loss of life, and four seemingly civilized children. The family seeks to live in a society
where the consumerism culture is highly influenced by media and companies. The characters'
consumerism culture becomes influenced by the dangers of the industrial chemical cloud that hangs
over their lives. This essay explores the importance of honesty in the wake of a consumerism culture

Jack is shown as one who is highly established in his field of work. Unfair influences of the
consumerism culture are to blame for the Jack's outfits and his professional title. In addition, the fact
that only highly valued tourist destinations do record significant tourist visits could have persuaded
Murray to look closer into the value of the site, perhaps due to media influences on his ideology.
Murray's skewed analysis of the important tourist attraction as a seemingly worthless facility
deserves more thought in order to uncover the actual reasons behind the highly toured places. In
general, worthless tourist destinations play host to just a handful of visitors who upon noticing the
worthlessness would not want to return to the site. By contrast, the landmark might have attracted
significant public investment for a reason. Murray's perception that no credible difference exists
between superficial and deeper meaning of the barn is highly dependent on skewed external forces
within the media. Similarly, DeLillo mocks neo–modern human's inability to distinguish realism
from the new Simulated Evacuation "they are still battling over funds for" (DeLillo 139). The
Simulated Evacuation is arguably the most fascinating case showing the conflict between two
opposing sides, but which could not be understood subjectively. The Simulated Evaluation is real

Medical Record Company Network Security Plan
Medical Record Company Network Security Plan
For the purpose of securing and implementing a data security plan for a medical record company a
lot of prep and thought needs to take place. While developing the plan I considered that it's not just
our company's data at risk, but also the data of any of our employees and patients, including social
security numbers and medical records. I also considered different kinds of security threats, security
threats are always evolving so we need to keep on top of new threats and keep changing to have the
best protection for our company.
Threats
There are several different kinds of threats that we should consider and do our best to avoid. A few
examples that are on the rise are:
"Targeted threats," are attacks that focus on confidential information from a single company or
individual are becoming more common. These attacks are being delivered through sophisticated
ways such as email attachments, video files, or hyperlinks, and more. Once made active the malware
can install itself without any help from the user.
Malicious bots are software applications that run automated tasks. These bots are also increasing;
when they are used they create automated attacks on networks.
Rootkits are able to burrow deeply into a computers operating system. They can alter the OS and
allow them maintain access to a computer system. They can go by easily undetected and can be
challenging to remove. The purpose of rootkits is to allow hackers to

Petroleum has a large operation in the United States and it has made investments to ensure that it

the acquisition of the vast oil field at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. This acquisition represented a good
increase in the percentage of oil production in the United States and ensured that the company could
increase its production and further its goals and objectives for the United States market. As early as

If the problem had been brought up by employees and management failed to make the right
decision, it is still not ethical. These were glaring problems management refused to address. The
further problem of BP's overall management not enforcing company policy means that there is a
culture of unethical decision making where economics gains far outweigh the adherence to safety
regulations (BP's Troubled Past, 2010).
BP had rented the rig from Transocean for $500,000 per day. Transocean had been recognized by the
U.S. government for its safety record. Can companies distance themselves from liability and
responsibility through the use of contractors?
With BP renting the rig from Transocean for $500,000 per day, the company was sharing liability
with Transocean as well. Transocean would be held liable according to the provisions of the contract
that the two companies signed. Because the law of vicarious liability is very vague, BP cannot
distance itself from liability and responsibility through the use of a contractor (Conn, 2009). The
provisions of the contract should have stated exactly what BP would be responsible for, and what
Transocean would be responsible for. With that said, Conn (2009) pointed out several factors that
come into play when sharing liability and addressed the problem with the following points:
Companies usually seek the help of experts to perform particular tasks. BP had contracted

The Negative Effects Of Personal Devices In The Workplace
Allowing personal devices in the workplace can become an issue for some companies. In today's
world, technology has become problematic. Let's face it, we live in a world that will leave their
money at home before leaving their phones at home. New research conducted by British
psychologists shows that young adults use their smartphones roughly twice as much as they estimate
that they do. In fact, the small preliminary study found that these young adults used their phones an
average of five hours a day – that's roughly one–third of their total waking hours. (Gregoire, n.d.) As
I discussed before the negative impact/dependence of phones has gotten out of control. In my own
opinion, allowing devices at work to any associate other than a manager in the retail industry, fast
food companies, railroad, and restaurant companies, isn't worth the trouble. Can you imagine going
into your favorite retail store and the associate is distracted with their phones other than assisting
you. The associate will give the company bad morale, decrease productivity, and lack customer
service skills. I work in a retail industry and I am part of the management team, from my experience
some associates can retain from their phones and others simply cannot. I have an associate by the
name of Orianna. Ori is categorized under the new generation. She must stay connected to social
media and urges to text her friend's other than being focus at work. She takes unnecessary bathroom

record companies are associated with music publishers, these means that they may want the right to

A considerable asset of a record label is its own publisher. Not every label has one possibly due to

Examples Of Constructive Dividends
Constructive dividends are a common occurrence in most small companies since they often conduct
their business in an informal way. They can attract penalties from IRS for both the company and the
shareholders involved. Situations that result in constructive dividends are described in the essay.
Examples of constructive dividends and how to minimize them in a corporation are also highlighted.
Concept of Constructive Dividends
The term constructive dividend is used to describe a disbursement made by companies that benefit a
shareholder though the instalment is not carried out specifically to that shareholder and regardless of
the possibility that no official dividend has been announced (Ault & Arnold, 2010). These types of
dividends take place in organisations that are closely held and transactions between shareholders,
and the company is often informal. There are situations when a shareholder is considered to have
been given constructive dividends. The first one is when the shareholder gets a pay, a financial gain
or a benefit. Such a dividend is taxed to the shareholder depending on the degree of the existing as
well as accumulated earnings or the company's profits and benefits. The second one is when the

Corporations Law
1.0 Areas of law
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has long been a touchy issue for governments not just in
Australia, but around the world as well. Companies in Australia are governed by the corporation's
act, which outlines the legal capacity and power of a company. The Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) s
57A1, defines a corporation as a separate legal entity, that includes any corporate body and
unincorporated bodies that may sue, be sued or hold property in the name of an office holder
appointed for that purpose. In context of corporate governance, the main issue is with the current
legislation is in regards to director's duties. Under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) s1802, directors
have a civil obligation to act with due care and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, the Australian government may introduce a rule that requires registered companies to
participate in a policy in which each company need to design a Corporate Social Responsibility
Committee that will observe every activity conducted and how will it impact those other than the
shareholders, specifically the employees, suppliers, customers and also the environment. The
company would then have to participate in a policy in which it is required to be publicized on its
own website. Although it may be contradicting to the directors' best interest for the company, by
spending an amount on volunteering programs, such as the hunger project to help extinguish famine
in poor countries, it also helps the company to build a better image that in turn, could be
advantageous to the directors.
4.0 Issues of importance
The push for company reporting to include CSR related information in annual reports is of utmost
importance, given the prominence of corporate influence in today's society. The recommendation to
implement triple bottom line reporting would increase the extent to which companies are taking
responsibility for the consequences of their actions, in relation to corporate activities that touch on
environmental or other issues of community concern13

specific title, being a small independent label, we all work on every issue. The funding of the label
came from our personal funding (representing 85% of our funding). I, the head of the label brought

The contract can be found at the end of the document, Appendix A. So we own the copyright in the
recordings for a minimum of five (5) years. RECORDING The album will be recorded at Urchin
Studios in London (www.urchinstudios.co.uk), new studios since 2007, price remains affordable
without letting go of the quality side. They are operating with Strokes producer Gordon Raphael. As
past clients they have had Emmy The Great, Skin, Jeremy Warmsley, Transgressive Records. We
will operate on a daily fee of £200 for a 9 hour day inclusive of all equipment and engineer; we have
to look at "problems" such as overtime which will cost us £30 per hour or such as additional cost
hours after 9pm which are at engineer 's discretion. It would be lovely to work in Pinna Studios
(www.pinnaproductions.com) but much more expensive. Lately these studios have seen the likes of
the Kills, Razorlight, MTV, Endemol but the costs are much higher so they will be hopefully used as
future reference. Just to se the differences, their daily rate is 350£ all services included but only for
an eight hour day. Another solution would be recording the album in Paris as the Band is French at
studioras (http://studioras.free.fr/). They are a new studio and the daily costs would be 28O€ with
engineer for an eight hour day which roughly represents 220£. I thought that recording was going to
be much cheaper if done in France but after

Corporate Social Responsibility And Corporate Ethics Essay

  • 1. Corporate Social Responsibility And Corporate Ethics Essay Corporate social responsibility has become a major issue in the recent past to the extent in which there are watchdog organizations that monitor actions of corporations and file a report indicating companies that aren't socially responsible. Such organizations are known as sustainability auditing firms (Gallagher, 2012). This has made most of the companies that are growing to issue corporate social responsibility reports alongside their annual business reports. Citigroup is a financial service company that has been able to do this with other companies. In fact, it should be noted that Citigroup, Inc. is the world's largest financial service corporations with a revenue base of over 130 billion dollars (MacDonald, 2011). Citigroup, Inc. has appeared in the list of Forbes 100 and was been rated in 2007 as one of the most responsible top 50 companies. The company employs more than 300000 employees today. Hence, this paper will look at the extent to which Citigroup, Inc. has put in place responsible practices and corporate ethics and how they account for the influence of their stakeholder's actions (Carroll & Buchholtz, 2010). The four components of Corporate Sustainability Model are: inputs, processes, outputs and the outcomes. Basically, Citigroup, Inc. has incorporated their sustainability model to suit the four components through initiatives such as supporting the need for curbing climate change, protection of human rights and providing assistance to families facing ... • 9. Income Statements And The Financial Records Of Any Company Finance Essay Income Statements Income statements are an important element crucial to the financial records of any company. Any profit making organization is expected to have records containing its income statements. Income statements are normally recorded annually at the end of a specific financial period. The major purpose of an income statement is to show stakeholders of the company such as managers and investors whether the company made a profits or losses in the period being reported. This performance analysis provided by the income statements can help managers come up with strategies to improve on profitability and growth of the company (Alexander and Jorissen 2005). Current assets are assets that can be easily be converted into cash whereas fixed assets are assets that last more than one financial period and are used to generate current assets (Alexander and Jorissen 2005). There are three different accounts that comprise of owners' equity section in the balance sheet. These are paid–in–capital, retained earnings and treasury stock. These give more information on the shareholders' shares and contributions regarding the company (Williamson et al 2008). Cash Flow Statements Another key financial record for any profit making organization is the statement of cash flows. It is a financial statement that shows how changes in the balance sheet accounts and income affect cash and cash equivalents. It also breaks down the analysis to operating, investing and financing activities within a given organization (Williams et al 2008). The three key sections of a cash flow statement are the operating, investing and financing activities. The operating activities section of a statement of cash flows indicates how much cash comes from sales of the company's goods and services, less the amount of capital needed to make and sell these goods and services. FEASIBILITY STUDY Feasibility reports describe one or more design solutions to a specific problem and determine if the proposed solution is practical and feasible. Preferably, more than one solution is offered, in which case the report compares the various designs and determines which option is best. Design and feasibility reports are essentially the same type of document, differing only in the amount of emphasis placed on practical and economic viability of the design in comparison with other possible solutions. A design report, often very similar to an internal proposal, focuses on describing one specific implementation. A feasibility study, on the other hand, also emphasizes the investigation and comparison of alternative solutions. Design reports and feasibility reports are crucial for decision making and product development in almost any technical organization. They document an engineer's thinking through a solution to a problem, a description of the solution, and the reasons why that solution should be implemented. Managers need accurate and comprehensive feasibility and design reports to decide where to commit scarce resources. In addition, an accurate and comprehensive design report helps in developing other documents, such as formal proposals, specifications, and work plans. 3.1 OPERATIONAL FEASIBILITY In this project we are providing the help to the company for selection process and tpo to maintain the all record which are record the company for ... • 17. Corporate Social Responsibility : Csr Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is something that affects all companies and should be an active factor in the company's decision making. It is something all corporations need to care about. CSR is when business' or corporations take part in an initiative or campaign for a cause that will benefit society and/or in some way make the world a better place (Taylor, 2015). Initially, Corporate Social Responsibility started to take shape around the 1950's, but some say that it dates all the way back to the 1800s, the idea of CSR was seen (Carroll, 2007). One may think that because it is dated so long ago, it doesn't have an important impact today nevertheless, it is proven that Corporate Social Responsibility is a pathway for entities to self benefit as they are in the process of benefitting society. Introduction to CSR In todays time, there are quite a few companies that practice Corporate Social Responsibility, including Campbell's. Since the 21st century they have been practicing CSR (From Soup to ... Corporate Social Responsibility: Campbell's Efforts to Lead the Way, 2009). "We aspire to be leaders in corporate social responsibility and sustainability. It's an effort that begins at the highest leadership levels of our own company." (Campbell's, 2015). To this day, Campbell's continuously maintains positive relationships and goals with customers, stakeholders, and even employees (Campbell's, 2015). • 21. Why Do Companies Use Tax Records Records pertaining to employment, earnings, and taxes withheld can all be questioned by the IRS and be audited if any red flags are raised. This shouldn't be a cause for concern if you keep good records and can prove whatever information was claimed on the forms. The general rule is to keep tax records for 3 years, but 5 is probably a safer number when it comes to individuals. Keep in mind that other entities may require information from tax forms including, insurance companies and credit lenders. Having the documents on hand is smarter and more convenient than hunting down and/or requesting copies from the IRS sometime in the future. On the other hand, a company should store tax records indefinitely. The digital age has made this task simpler and less space consuming. When and if the time comes to destroy old documents, be sure that the forms are shredded with a crosscut shredder, or digital information is stored using software that is protected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Companies and individuals with a business should store other important documents for the duration of the existence. These documents can include, but a re not limited to permits, agreements, contracts, lease and rental agreements, stock information, and mortgage documents, even if the mortgage has been paid in full. Having these documents stored safely means you can retrieve any pertinent information needed, provide proof with documentation if necessary, and have a complete record of the history of the company. Managing Data There are many arguments for and against any type of medium that can be implemented to store and manage data and records. Each medium has its positive characteristics and its drawbacks. The best record keepers use more than one method to store data, mainly as a backup in case of a catastrophe. This is where the old adage, "it's better to be safe than sorry" takes on a greater significance. The Cloud vs. Paper vs. Desktop ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Today, it just means saving money. All value – no values" (Kofinis). So, with this challenge facing the company, there are several areas where the company can apply focus and action to help recreate and strengthen its reputation. Our recommendations for this strategic objective are:  Ensure that "associates" are compensated fairly and receive proper benefits. Companies can also change a certain process or activity in their production to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. An example of this is Cisco, a manufacturing company of network equipment. The company's vision is to reduce greenhouse gas emission in each of their business functions and processes to build environmental sustainability. While the business may appear to be growing, because of other companies being purchased, overall performance of the company may be falling, but it may not be evident from the financial statements. Because The OSN is an ON–Demand computing model, there is always a risk that the system could be down. Should this occur, clients and suppliers alike would be unable to gain access to the network. Also, it is very difficult to find information regarding post–2005 developments in The OSN (with the exception of Commerce One being acquired in early 2006). As a result, it is possible that the software reached its peak in 2005. Should this be true, it is unlikely that Perfect Commerce is adding new suppliers to the network, and therefore, clients are not getting the entire array of options when looking for products. British Petroleum has a large operation in the United States and it has made investments to ensure that it develops these operations to maximize its production and increase profits. One such investment was the acquisition of the vast oil field at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. This acquisition represented a good increase in the percentage of oil production in the United States and ensured that the company could increase its production and further its goals and objectives for the United States market. As early as 2001 there were incidents at the facility that the company internally accounted for and management was made aware of the safety concerns that existed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the problem had been brought up by employees and management failed to make the right decision, it is still not ethical. These were glaring problems management refused to address. The further problem of BP's overall management not enforcing company policy means that there is a culture of unethical decision making where economics gains far outweigh the adherence to safety regulations (BP's Troubled Past, 2010). BP had rented the rig from Transocean for $500,000 per day. Transocean had been recognized by the U.S. government for its safety record. Can companies distance themselves from liability and responsibility through the use of contractors? With BP renting the rig from Transocean for $500,000 per day, the company was sharing liability with Transocean as well. Transocean would be held liable according to the provisions of the contract that the two companies signed. Because the law of vicarious liability is very vague, BP cannot distance itself from liability and responsibility through the use of a contractor (Conn, 2009). The provisions of the contract should have stated exactly what BP would be responsible for, and what Transocean would be responsible for. With that said, Conn (2009) pointed out several factors that come into play when sharing liability and addressed the problem with the following points: Companies usually seek the help of experts to perform particular tasks. In today's world, technology has become problematic. Let's face it, we live in a world that will leave their money at home before leaving their phones at home. New research conducted by British psychologists shows that young adults use their smartphones roughly twice as much as they estimate that they do. In fact, the small preliminary study found that these young adults used their phones an average of five hours a day – that's roughly one–third of their total waking hours. (Gregoire, n.d.) As I discussed before the negative impact/dependence of phones has gotten out of control. In my own opinion, allowing devices at work to any associate other than a manager in the retail industry, fast food companies, railroad, and restaurant companies, isn't worth the trouble. Can you imagine going into your favorite retail store and the associate is distracted with their phones other than assisting you. The associate will give the company bad morale, decrease productivity, and lack customer service skills. I work in a retail industry and I am part of the management team, from my experience some associates can retain from their phones and others simply cannot. I have an associate by the name of Orianna. They can attract penalties from IRS for both the company and the shareholders involved. Situations that result in constructive dividends are described in the essay. Examples of constructive dividends and how to minimize them in a corporation are also highlighted. Concept of Constructive Dividends The term constructive dividend is used to describe a disbursement made by companies that benefit a shareholder though the instalment is not carried out specifically to that shareholder and regardless of the possibility that no official dividend has been announced (Ault & Arnold, 2010). These types of dividends take place in organisations that are closely held and transactions between shareholders, and the company is often informal. There are situations when a shareholder is considered to have been given constructive dividends. The first one is when the shareholder gets a pay, a financial gain or a benefit. Such a dividend is taxed to the shareholder depending on the degree of the existing as well as accumulated earnings or the company's profits and benefits. Companies in Australia are governed by the corporation's act, which outlines the legal capacity and power of a company. The Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) s 57A1, defines a corporation as a separate legal entity, that includes any corporate body and unincorporated bodies that may sue, be sued or hold property in the name of an office holder appointed for that purpose. Although it may be contradicting to the directors' best interest for the company, by spending an amount on volunteering programs, such as the hunger project to help extinguish famine in poor countries, it also helps the company to build a better image that in turn, could be advantageous to the directors. 4.0 Issues of importance The push for company reporting to include CSR related information in annual reports is of utmost importance, given the prominence of corporate influence in today's society.
