was extremely hard to control the thoughts spinning in my mind,
'What will happen tomorrow?' , 'Is it a start of a new life?' I finally slept dreaming that there will be
a new sunrise tomorrow, a sunrise after decades of darkness.
I woke up the next day as eager as possible and went to school. All day thoughts were still going
back and forth. 'Will we be able to make it?' 'I think I am just over ambitious and it will be a normal
day'. Rushing back home after school, I entered my home and opened the news and there it was "A
protest in the heart of
Damascus calling for freedom". I couldn't stop myself from screaming. A storm of emotions blew up
my heart. Feelings of happiness, anxiety, tension, and fear were all bumping inside me. A protest in
Syria was literally a miracle as many declared. Syria has been called the kingdom of silence for
more than forty years. What happened was very tremendous, leaving a day Syrians will remember
accurately, March 15 2011.
That was the start, and now who haven't heard of Syria on the news and international news agencies
every single day. More than two thirds of the Syrian cities are destroyed and more than six million
people got displaced from their homes.
Reports show that there is a minimum of two hundred thousand person killed making

It was a shame to me that my mom's action of stepping forward to tell hospital staff about this
procedure was the deciding factor of my dad's survival. There had to be something more that the
nurses and physicians could have done. I was, and still am, in disbelief. I saw first hand what could
happen if one does not know what options of care are available. Those are the types of atrocities that
are happening today. Very few people are looking out for the common man and people die every
day, needlessly, as a result.
Another person, also very near and dear to my heart, has helped develop my values into my sought
future. I have been a mentor for a physically and mentally challenged individual named David
through an organization called Countryside Association for People with Disabilities. People like
David are turned down from healthcare all the time because our health system renders them as
functioning adults when, in fact, they are not capable of living on their own at all. If such wonderful
parents had not adopted David, the state would not provide care for him past age twenty–four, other
than providing income for disability. David cannot manage himself. The fact that there are people in
the world struggling with similar issues, and nobody to advocate for them worries me.
I believe that everyone deserves the right to the best care available without the basis of income,
employment, or social standing. I believe cutting edge approaches need to be offered to

The Syrian Wars were one of the most devastating in the Hellenistic world; they changed the
political and economic landscape of the region permanently in a way that hadn 't happened since the
conquests of Alexander. These wars brought about the end of the Pharaohs, they allowed Rome to
come and seize Egypt and Syria, and Parthia to annex what was left of the Seleukid dynasty. The
massive impact these wars had upon the Hellenic world cannot be understated. Egypt would never
rise to its former glory. It would become another province of Rome, later to be held by the
Byzantines, and then Fatimids, where it would not regain true independence until 1922, shaking
itself from British colonial rule. It is a shame that these wars are not given the rigorous study that

his main characters in a dangerous situation of trusting a total stranger to get them into another

Unexpectedly, Johnny stands up for himself and protects his friend. On page 56, the text states, "'I
killed him,' he said slowly. 'I killed that boy'. Bob the handsome Soc, was lying there in the
moonlight, doubled up and still." This demonstrates that although Johnny is considered a timid and
innocent person, he proves that how he acts in the gang is different from how he acts in the outside
world. This is unexpected because Johnny is always the one being cared for in the gang. However,

own? Syrian refugees have been forced to flee their Syrian homeland as a result of their unstable
environment. These refugees must leave quickly, leaving all their possessions in search of a better
life in other European countries. One of the countries that has granted asylum to many Syrian
refugees is Germany, but the story does not end there for thousands of refugees upon their arrival.
The day to day survival is difficult in a new country for adult refugees trying to support their

Many people have different reasons to apply for staff. Mine will sound a little cheesy but its true. I
purely enjoy helping people. It gives me a sense of gratitude when I show someone how to do things
the right way or help someone with their issues. I am a good problem solver and I have an analytical
brain. These traits make my job easy and fun. I know that staff isn't meant to be a fun job, but
keeping a cheerful attitude on job and being friendly to players makes more people want to come
back to the server. I have two modes when being staff; one cheery light mood when I joke around
and talk with players and a serious mood when dealing with issues. I NEVER allow these two to
mix together because that could jeopardize my position and probably annoy some players. Lastly, I
know that certain people apply for the rank because they think it will bring them respect and make

Throughout American history we've had many instances where conflicts between the police and the
people have occurred and it was difficult to find what exactly happened. They become 'he said she
said' type of situations even when there may be a lot of evidence and eyewitness accounts because

Ever since I was little, my mom has repeated little sayings to my brothers and I. One of her favorites

The idea of people trying to change their identity just strikes me with stupidity. It is God's decision
as to what color, nationality or such a person will be, and I believe He has a purpose for everything;
therefore, each person should respect His decision with acceptance and serve Him well under the

In the endeavor to fully describe my position on this particular issue, it is my wish to begin with a
short introduction to the history of myself. I am a straight, married man with many friends from all

until 1971. The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution was issued after the "attack" of USS Maddox by North
Vietnamese torpedoes. Kennedy's claim that "all of Southeast Asia would be under control of
communists and under domination of the Chinese" has been largely discredited as by 1981 none of
the South East Asian countries had fallen victim communist guerillas. While historical evidence
proved the "domino theory" false, the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution seemed largely misguided from the
outset; merely an excuse to start war with the North Vietnamese.
