NEW ECE-5 ® CORROSION MODELLING
SOFTWARE
This new model for corrosion analysis and material
selection is developed from the internationally
renowned ECE4 model. It offers substantial
developments based upon major field corrosion
studies carried out within Intetech Consultancy Ltd
over the last 5 years.
Materials selection rules have been updated based
upon reviews of laboratory data and checks on field
performance of materials in many facilities
incorporating both sweet and sour conditions.
The new software provides the user with a greatly
improved capability to view graphical outputs of data
and incorporate the results of work in reports.
ECE-5 INCORPORATES THE FOLLOWING
TOOLS:
• Corrosion rate predictors for carbon steel in
sweet or sour conditions that consider different
options for corrosion control
• Risk prediction tools that evaluate the risk of
carbon steel failure
• Corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) evaluators
that select the most suitable CRA for specified
environmental conditions, and automatically take
into account the risks of corrosion, pitting and
stress-corrosion cracking
• Life-cycle cost calculators that evaluate the
economics of carbon steel and CRA options on the
basis of Net Present value so that material cost
comparisons can be provided.
