TRANSMISSION LINE THEORY
General theory of Transmission lines - General
solutions - Characteristic impedance, propagation
constant, attenuation and phase constants - Open
circuited and short-circuited lines. The telephone cable,
Reflection of line not terminated in Z0 -Reflection
coefficient - Distortion in transmission lines - Distortion

3. Introduction
The transfer of energy from one point to another takes place through
either wave guides or transmission lines
Transmission lines always consist of at least two separate conductors
between which a voltage can exist
Wave guides involve only one conductor
There are two types of commonly used transmission lines
