2. Where did it Originated
Folk: folk music has also been defined in several ways: music sung by unknown composers, or
music performed by “custom "over a long period of time. It has been contrasted with classic styles.
(good example parting glass by Ed Sheeran.) Folk music has been around since the start of music.
Songs were sung by common “folk” during there leisure or work. During historical times workers
would sing to combat boredom of the same job and keep the rhythm. As well soldiers would sing
during long marches to keep morale and keep them entertained. Folk music has been referred as
root music because it was the starting point for every genre. The most famous faces of the old folk
music was Stephen Foster who was an American Songwriter. After world war 2 a new genre was
started contemporary Folk Music. This brought a completely new term to folk music. It consisted
of known authors imitating forms of traditional music. By the 21st century famous authors such as
Bob Dylan and Donovan who famed in the 1960s this meant that this genre didn’t only just mean
traditional Folk music

3. Origins Of Pop
Pop: pop originated in the united states and united kingdom I the 1950s. rock and pop were
synonyms but they began to separate from one another in the late 1960s. Pop music uses
conventions from different genres such as rock, Latin, country they would often have repeated
choruses it was designed to appeal to all which is why its called pop “popular” The whole idea of
pop is to appeal to a mass audience. Michael Jackson and Madonna have been branded the King
and Queen of Pop music. Ever since its creation American and British music industries have
dominated the Pop Genre but today most countries have there own different form of Pop music.
The most faces in todays Pop are Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran etcetera
often characterized as "instant singles-based music aimed at teenagers" in contrast to rock
music as "album-based music for adults".[ - wiki
4. Folk and pop are two different genres so they both have
different codes and convention. Usually artists will have
more codes for one genre than the other. The most
common codes and conventions for folk pop are a
representation of artists

artist. Folk adapts the themes of the lyrics in

6. POP: the main plot of a pop song is love or a relationship. artists of pop are usually presented as
wearing mainstream and fashionable outfits. A main code for pop is that it has a consistent beat
throughout and always has the chorus multiple times. The best way to notice a pop genre is the
setting of the music video as well as the character in the music video they would usually appear
in a sexual manner.
