2. Instructions
the image on the right is a supporting illustrations to the
instructions on the left. This makes the things on the left a lot
easier to understand and also it tells you about the gun and the
parts that it has. For the text on the labels they are all caps and
also very clear with the white contrast to the grey of the boxes.
The shape of the boxes I think is made to look futuristic and this
was made to appeal to the audience. On the left the images in
the instructions also use bold and capital and as well as this the
images that are in the boxes have the parts mentioned in the
text are slightly colored to also make them a lot easier to
understand. As well as the photos not being colored they are
also in black and white and in lines and this makes them more
clear to see what is going on. Under the photo there is some
legal disclaimers to cover themselves. As well as this they have
brands at the bottom. The information is very accurate and
clear.
3. Leaflet
The first thing that the leaflet does is has a lot of different images to
support the text that the company has written. A lot of things that will
be different from the instructions. This Is because they are trying to
sell a product where as the instructions are in a product that have
been purchased. The text in this uses a lot of bias and trying to convey
a very specific message. Some examples of this are in the top right and
this uses bullet points to try and make there product look good. They
will only show the good things and not the bad things. This is to make
there product look good and the people will not have a lot of excuse
to not buy the product. The text in the leaflet is very simple and the
colours stand out as they contrast the backgrounds well. They also
have things like the phone number and tittles in bigger text to make
them stand out. On the front cover they also have a bolder font to
make it stand out. There are some legal constraints from the poster
such as the facts on it and also as it is an advert they will have to abide
by the ASA rules. They also would have to abide by the rules if they
put some prices on the leaflet or offered something like a free quote.
4. How to play Chess
As you can see from the photo taken of the image on the
right the images are very clear and give you all the
information you need. The post is also very concise and
accurate. There might be a reference to the person who
made the article or who made the graphics for the guide.
The only legal issues they might have are if they have not
referenced any of the work and not asked to use it or they
have just used someone else's guide and copied it. It is
very clearly set out and and also has options for people to
interact with the guide and therefor make it better. it
might be bias in terms of what he righter thinks is the best
way to play the game. This might be different to what the
best way to play is.
5. Factual Journalism
Factual journalism is being factually correct when reporting story's. I looked into the Olympics and
also sport in general. I think there is a lot more truth to sport other than just normal news. I think this
because a lot of people watch the sport so you cant really excaudate the event. This is different to
normal news as no one has seen it but the journalist and this can therefor slightly change the story to
make it more impactful or shocking. There are things like the IPSO (Independent Press Standards
Organization) that help to regulate the journalism and stop people making things up.
Currently in news there is a lot of fake news and this makes the news less valid and some news sites
that use it lose there respect with readers. It has been becoming more and more popular In the last 2
years. A lot of the fake news in online and even MI6 have been trying to stop it. It is now happening in
a lot of places and doesn't seem to be slowing down in how much is coming out. A lot of the fake
mews articles are about politics and while the American election was going on there was a lot of
propaganda for both sides on social media but trump won that side and then went on to win the
election.
For my story I will be looking at the winter Olympics and how they lifted the band on 28 Russian
athletes who where banned for doping.
