CONCEPT PAPER
“LIGHTS” by HNQO ftBip City, Hot Creations Label
Direction and Concept Design by: Jake Dargan/JKO Productions
The theme of the video will be a 90’s rave and the main concept
of the video will be a stop motion style, the whole concept will
be ‘ravers’ getting ready for a non existent rave and dancing in
various locations around the city. This is a concept based video
and has no true purpose or meaning. The video will consist of
several characters dancing around various locations before
meeting up with the other characters which will also be followed
and then as a group dance and ‘rave ‘ around more locations,
dancing with various ‘rave’ styled dances.
1. Most of the filming/shooting will be done with a steady
cam with a few 360 rotations.
2. All actors will be wearing 90s rave themed clothing such
as sweat jackets and sunglasses jeans and trainers.
3. The start of the video will be filmed in daylight then by
the end of the video it will be night.
4. Videos effects will be put on such as colour waves , and other bright colour effects.
GUIDELINES:
1. Characters of the video will wake up and begin
to phone/text other characters as they get
ready, as if between the characters they have
arranged to get together.
2. The characters will then start to get ready and
dressed as the music begins to pick up.
*characters will be dressed in 90’s sweat jackets
and clothes often referred to as ‘acid rave’
attire*
3. Characters then meet up in various outside locations that seem to be secluded, eg woodland
walkway, and subways running underneath large junctions.
4. Characters then travel across the land again through previous locations appearing to be
travelling somewhere in this case into a big empty field out the way of the city
2. 5. The characters then set up a boombox as the music kicks in fully and start to rave on their
own throughout this field.
6. Within time as the song progresses other ravers come and join them as the day darkens and
the song comes to a close
