Children’s Librarian
Albert L. Scott Public Library, Alabaster, Alabama, September 2002 – September 2004.
● Developed children’s and young adult collections and increased circulation
numbers.
● Coordinated, planned, and implemented successful children’s and young adult
programs, which included story time as well as wrote publicity related to
children’s and young adult programs for publication in the library calendar and
newsletter.
● Designed new outreach initiative program for the Storyteller program, which is
now used in several Shelby County Libraries. Designed and implemented a teen
volunteer to meet the demands of the schools’ required volunteer policy.
● Co-authored and received an National Endowment for the Humanities We the
People Grant and planned several programs around the book collection we
received from the grant.
