This is when the artist uses an animation in their work and uses it to intise and show the
viewer something new and quirky. It is used mostly to make the vieewer be entertained
and have something good to watch during the song. It is known to do well and sometiems
opens doors for different bands. Its clever ,smart and innovative , this is because it
engages people in a different way and makes people enjoy the video behind the music. It
is sometimes very interesting and can inspire different people in different ways.

3. Live
Live music video is when the people or artist uses footage from the live performances in
the music videos for there songs , this is normally used for a promotion tool. It is very
popular in modern day music videos. It is good as it attracts fans and makes them want
to see their favourite performers live. This is also a common tactic used by rock artists as
they want to get across what they look like live. Showing the fans what it can be like
coming to see the live.

4. Parody/pastiche/homage
Parody – this is when a group or a band or an artist use another persons song and make a
joke or funny remake of that song , they could this to gain fame as they use popular
musicians songs. It is very popular in todays music industry for an artist to do this as they
want to get across a funny or silly side of themselves.
Pastiche – this is where someone being represented in a nice way and is seen as a
token of respect. Its nice to see as it can bring different groups of fans and people
together through one person. It is all round a nice thing to do.
Homage – this is when the artist will tribute a song in a respectful way , they do this as
they want to show love to old things or want to do a remix or cover on a song they liked
and as they have a platform to put it out they can.

5. Narrative
This is when someone has a story in their music video that doesn’t show or connote
anything to do with the song. It is good as it adds another meaning to the story and
is used well to get people to watch . Most narratives will have something to do with
the singer so it makes the fans have more information on their favourite singers. In
three two videos we see Eminem or Stan the main protagonist writing to his idol.
This is used well as the letters are the words of the song , this is good as it makes us
feel more connected to the video. We also see a story of Katy Perry , we see this as it
cuts from her speaking and singing about the story to the main chorus which is
different. Narrative will usually connect or be linked to the story of the video.

6. Production placement
This is when the artist or group use advertisements n their music video. One popular
example is the beats pill from dr dre this was used in many different music videos. Its also
a great way to gain money. It’s a good way to make some extra money while doing it. It
can be a very smart tactic by some people as they want to earn an extra bit of money.
Some musicians will also put there own merchandise in the video to promote their own
products. It can be useful for the artist as it makes there fans and other listeners buy
what they are selling.
