Students think about questions to ask someone about their holiday. One of the tasks is to produce a short piece of writing based on the questions and answers they have explored.
6. What questions could you ask Mia about
her holiday? Think of one for each WH-
word.
7. Write down any questions that you don’t
have. Can you think of any others?
Ideas:
Who did she go with? Who did she meet?
What did she do? What did she eat? What did
she see?
Where did she go? Where did she stay?
When did she go? When did she come back?
Why did she go there?
How long did she stay?
How much did it cost?
Teacher: Show students the following slides, insisting on recognising the part each word plays in a sentence. Note that Complements have been left out for now.
Where is each word positioned? What information does it give us? What form does it take?
This PowerPoint will be followed by exercises and some writing practice: ‘Narrative story’ and speaking practice with Question Structure Cards.
