2. CAMERA
• The camera I used to film my music video was the Cannon
700D. I used this camera at AS so I already knew how to
use it which made me more efficient when it came to
shooting. I also used this camera to take the photos for my
digipak and magazine advert.
• The touchscreen feature was a useful feature of this
camera when it came to performance shots as it made
focusing easy. As most of our footage was taken outside,
the camera was good for controlling the aperture, shutter
speed, ISO and setting the white balance. This allowed us
to get really clear footage, making it seem professional
and more enjoyable to watch.
• I felt this was effective in making my video better as
without good quality footage, it doesn’t matter how good
the editing was, the video wouldn’t look as good as it
could.
3. CAMERA EQUIPMENT
• The shoulder camera proved a very useful piece of
equipment A lot of our shots involved the two characters
walking around and this allowed us to film the shots of the
people walking whilst still making sure the footage was
steady and clear. I feel like we used this effectively as the
end version of our video was of a good standard and without
this equipment we would have had shaky footage and it
wouldn’t have looked as good. I had never used this
equipment before so it was a good learning curve and I
would know in the future that it would be a effective bit of
equipment to use for any future projects.
• The tripod was also a useful piece of equipment. I had used
it before for other projects such as my AS thriller and
preliminary tasks, however it was very useful for this. By
using a tripod, it allowed us to keep the footage level and
this was especially good for the performance shots.
4. LIGHTING
• When we were filming outside, we opted to use
natural light as it gave clear, crisp lighting which
the camera worked well with to make in focus
footage. This worked effectively as it would have
been impossible to use artificial lighting outside so
it was rather convenient.
• When we filmed indoors, we used studio lighting to
make sure that the colours and contrast was
consistent throughout.
