NORNICKEL REPORTS 1H2019 CONSOLIDATED IFRS
FINANCIAL RESULTS
• Consolidated revenue increased 8% y-o-y to USD 6.3 billion owing to output growth of all key metals
and higher palladium price;
• EBITDA expanded 21% y-o-y to USD 3.7 billion owing to higher metal revenue and the ramp-up of the
Bystrinsky copper project, with EBITDA margin reaching 59%;
• CAPEX was almost unchanged from last year amounting to USD 0.5 billion. The Company made final
investment decisions on strategic growth projects such as the expansion of the Talnakh concentrator
(TOF-3 project) and the South Cluster mining project, with the active construction phase scheduled to start
in 2H19;
• Net working capital temporarily increased to USD 1.3 billion as a result of scheduled amortization of
advance payments for delivered metals from customers;
• Free cash flow amounted to USD 2.2 billion;
• Net debt/EBITDA ratio decreased to 0.8x as of June 30, 2019;
• Cash interest paid decreased 23% to USD 202 million owing to the ongoing optimization of debt
portfolio;

Vestas - Interim financial report, second quarter 2019
• In the second quarter of 2019, Vestas generated revenue of EUR 2,121m – a decrease of 6 percent
compared to the year-earlier period.
• EBIT before special items decreased by EUR 131m to EUR 128m.
• The EBIT margin was 6.0 percent compared to 11.5 percent in the second quarter of 2018 and free
cash flow* amounted to EUR (75)m compared to EUR (173)m in the second quarter of 2018.
• The intake of firm and unconditional wind turbine orders amounted to 5,696 MW in the second
quarter of 2019.
• The value of the wind turbine order backlog amounted to EUR 15.9bn as at 30 June 2019. In
addition to the wind turbine order backlog, Vestas had service agreements with expected contractual
future revenue of EUR 15.6bn at the end of June 2019.
• Vestas narrows the 2019 guidance on revenue to range between EUR 11.0bn and 12.25bn
(compared to previously EUR 10.75bn-12.25bn), and on EBIT margin before special items to 8-9
percent (compared to previously 8-10 percent).

helped Vestas achieve a record-high order intake of 5.7 GW and 15 percent growth in Service revenue.
Based on these strong sales results, our order backlog soared by EUR 8.5bn year-over-year to an all-time
high of EUR 31bn, again demonstrating our global leadership in a highly competitive market. Together
with our Offshore business’ increased profits, the first half of 2019 highlights the complementarity of our
business model’s three main areas, creating a great long-term outlook for Vestas. Prices remained stable in
the quarter, but further increases in tariffs, raw material prices and transport costs, continue to increase
execution costs, causing our gross margin to decline compared to the same period last year. To finish the
year as strongly as possible and prepare for high activity levels in 2020, we remain focused on executing
our strategy and delivering an extraordinarily busy second half of 2019.”

ALROSA Q2 and 6M 2019 IFRS results
• Revenue in Q2 2019 went down by 19% q-o-q to RUB 57 bn driven by a 22% qoq
decline in diamond sales volumes. A 21% y-o-y decline in revenue was attributable to
lower sales (down 8% y-o-y) and changes in the sales mix.
• EBITDA in Q2 2019 was to RUB 25 bn (down 20% q-o-q and 39% y-o-y) on lower
top line.
• EBITDA margin remained flat q-o-q at 44%.
• Free cash flow in Q2 2019 amounted to RUB 2.4 bn (vs RUB 26 bn in Q1 2019)
amidst a decline in operating cash flow, seasonal capex growth and increase in working
capital.
• Net profit decreased by 44% q-o-q to RUB 13 bn, mostly due to lower revenue and
high base effect of one-off FX gains in Q1. A 47% y-o-y decline was attributable to
lower revenue and reduced margins (down 13 pp y-o-y).
ALROSA’s Deputy CEO, commented on the results:“The diamond market continued to be
affected by a number of negative factors that had first emerged as early as the second half of
the previous year. These include a slowdown in jewellery sales following strong
performance of 2017–2018, particularly as a result of global macroeconomic uncertainties
amidst escalating trade wars. As an additional factor, mid-stream and retailers have elevated
inventories, while India's cutting and polishing business continues facing difficulties in
securing affordable financing. A new trend, i.e. growing share of online jewellery sales
mostly in the US, is now gaining its importance for the industry.

Volkswagen Group invests in leading technology
company in the field of 3D holography
Volkswagen has acquired a minority stake in the leading technology company SeeReal
Technologies. This participation will secure access for the Group to future-oriented
augmented reality in the field of display technologies for the automobile. The research
project will provide the Group with key know-how to make driving even safer and more
convenient in the future. Potentially hazardous situations on the road will be projected into
the driver’s environment in three dimensions, “touchable” displays will be suspended
instead of controls, partners and telephone conversations will appear as holograms,
passengers will be able to play hovering three-dimensional Tetris – these visions could soon
become reality in the automobile.

Siemens plans to acquire Process Systems Enterprise
Siemens is planning to acquire Process Systems Enterprise (PSE), a technology-

Boeing and Safran Invest in Electric Power Systems
Boeing and Safran announced a joint investment in Electric Power Systems (EPS), a
company offering a suite of safe, certifiable and lightweight energy storage products that
provide high-quality power for aerospace and other markets. The joint investment will help
EPS develop a highly automated industrial base capable of producing aviation-grade
energy storage systems at an unprecedented scale. The investment will also support the
advancement of technologies to further reduce the costs of battery systems for electric
airplanes.Boeing HorizonX Ventures and Safran Corporate Ventures jointly invested in EPS
during this Series A funding round. EPS is the second advanced battery solutions company
to join the Boeing HorizonX Ventures investment portfolio, following an investment in

also recently invested in OXIS Energy, a UK-based leader in lithium-sulfur cell technology

70 million euros in European sites

Severstal invests in innovative steel alloy producer
Arcanum Alloys
PAO Severstal, one of the world's largest vertically integrated steel and

Sime Darby Berhad Acquires Three Trivett Dealerships
in Sydney for AU$112 million
Sime Darby Berhad announced that its subsidiary, Sime Darby Motors
(Australia) Pty Limited has entered into binding agreements with Trivett, the
automotive retail unit of Inchcape Australia Limited to acquire the business
assets and properties of three car dealerships representing the BMW, MINI,
Volkswagen, Jaguar and Land Rover marques in the suburb of Parramatta in
Sydney. The deal adds Volkswagen, Jaguar and Land Rover to Sime Darby
Berhad’s list of marques in Australia, managed by its Motors Division, Sime
Darby Motors. It represents all five marques in the other markets it operates in.

mergers and acquisitions, targeting the retail luxury and super luxury segments,

Columbus to launch first-ever city-managed payment
platform across transportation modes
Siemens Mobility announced it will work with Bytemark, a
Siemens Mobility partially-owned subsidiary, to provide a common
payment solution for Columbus, Ohio's Smart Columbus travel app
– the first-ever platform managed by a city, rather than a
transportation operator or private party in the United States. The
single-payment system that allows for both public and private
mobility services to be paid using a single account-based payment
system. This payment system will now fulfill the back-end
payment portion of the trip-planning capabilities currently provided
on the open-source "Smart Columbus" OS platform. With this
centralized payment capability, Smart Columbus is pushing the

Boeing Introduces Tailored Charts for Avionics Services to
Enhance Navigation Capabilities for Pilots
Boeing is offering a new navigation service to enhance efficient flight deck
operations for pilots. Jeppesen Tailored Charts for Avionics is being
introduced initially with Honeywell Primus Epic INAV avionics systems
for tailored chart customers operating Embraer E2 commercial aircraft.
Regional airline Wideroe of Norway is the first operator to use the new
tailored navigation service. Jeppesen Tailored Charts for Avionics now
provides pilots with operator-specific charting navigation information that
is available through installed, front-panel avionics systems. It allows pilots
to view different navigation data points on different display platforms,
including JeppesenFliteDeck Pro tablet-based electronic flight bag (EFB)
in addition to the front panel avionics, based on pilot preference.While it is
currently only available with Honeywell Primus Epic INAV avionics

vessels around the globe.First launched in 2018, OceanFinder leverages Airbus’
advanced constellation of optical and radar satellites, combined with real-time global
Automatic Identification System (AIS) data, and the latest in automated analytics, to
support a broad range of critical applications across defence and security, shipping,
oil and gas, and insurance markets.OceanFinder’s latest updates introduce a number
of innovative features – extending the service’s capabilities in several key areas.
From, users will benefit from enhanced imagery and AIS data correlation to identify

GKN Wheels Develops Solution for Michelin’s X
Tweel Skid Steer Tire
Unveiled in July, the new MICHELIN® X® TWEEL® SSL™ 2 – the
airless tire solution for skid steers – features a completely new wheel
developed and manufactured by GKN Wheels. The TWEEL is a single,
fully-integrated unit which replaces the traditional tire/ wheel/ valve
assembly. This means there is no need for costly and time-consuming
wheel and tire mounting to be carried out – and once the unit is bolted to
the vehicle, there is no air pressure to maintain.With a brief to deliver a
robust, high-performance and long-life wheel, the project team’s solution
was to design a wheel that would provide a mechanical bond with the tire –
replacing the chemical bond system which had previously been used.
Featuring spider disc tines and an eight-hole, high-grade steel hub, the
TWEEL is stiffer than a traditional wheel, enabling it to cope with different
stresses imposed on a completely integrated unit. Given the unique nature
of the product, the team also had to develop specific laboratory and field
test regimes, to fully validate and prove the design concept.

HELLA LAUNCHES NEXT GENERATION OF LIGHTING
TECHNOLOGY ON THE MARKET
The lighting and electronics expert HELLA has consistently developed its Matrix
LED systems further and is now launching the next generation of lighting technology
on the market. With the so-called "Solid State Lighting | High Definition" (SSL | HD)
technology, the company has further miniaturized the light source so that 15,000
LED pixels can now be individually and intelligently controlled. A first series order
for the integration of the technology into a headlamp has already been successfully
acquired. This should be available on the road in the next three years.
Individualization is a growing trend in the entire automotive industry. Against this
background, HELLA is working on new lighting solutions that can be integrated into
the vehicle architecture in a much smaller space while maintaining high performance
and functionality, thus offering original equipment manufacturers additional degrees
of freedom in individual vehicle design. This is achieved, for example, through
miniaturization concepts. With the SSL | HD technology, HELLA has now integrated
very small, individually switchable LED pixels on intelligent driver chips. By
controlling the individual pixels, the light distribution on the road can be generated
directly at the light source surface and projected onto the road via a multi-stage
optical system. The higher number of pixels and the enlarged light-emitting surface

Bridgestone Wins Design Patent Infringement
Lawsuit in China
Bridgestone Corporation announced that on July 5, 2019, it received a
favorable ruling in its design patent infringement lawsuit against major
Chinese tire manufacturers Guangzhou South China Tire & Rubber
Co., Ltd. and Wanli Tire Co., Ltd. ("Wanli Tire"). In October 2015,
Bridgestone filed the lawsuit claiming that tire manufacturing and sales
activities conducted by Wanli Tire utilized the tread pattern*1 of the
Bridgestone DUELER A/T REVO 2 tire for sport utility vehicles, and
that these activities were therefore in violation of the Company's patent
rights. In May 2017, the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court found in
favor of Bridgestone. Wanli Tire appealed the decision to the Shanghai
High People's Court, which upheld the lower court's decision. As a
result of the decision, Wanli Tire was ordered to cease tire
manufacturing and sales activities that are in violation of the
Company's patent rights and pay damages to the Company in an
amount of roughly 600,000 Chinese yuan (approximately. 9.6 million
Japanese yen*2).

Wärtsilä’s Auto Gasification solution to provide sustainable
waste disposal for Princess Cruises vessel
The technology group Wärtsilä will supply and install an Auto Gasification
solution for the ‘Regal Princess’, a Princess Cruises vessel. This innovative
technology will enable the safe disposal of waste from the ship through a
self-fuelling thermal decomposition unit, thereby significantly reducing
greenhouse gas emissions. It will also lessen the requirement to offload waste at
shore facilities. Princess Cruises is a Carnival Corporation & plc brand
operating as part of the Holland America Group. The order with Wärtsilä was
placed in July 2019. The Wärtsilä supplied gasification unit will replace one of
the vessel’s onboard incinerators, and will safely dispose of hazardous,
contaminated, and dry burnable waste in an environmentally sustainable way.
The emissions quality from this system exceed the standards of land based
thermal destruction, and treating waste onboard the vessel rather than offloading
in port therefore significantly reduces the environmental impact. Furthermore,
since the system recovers energy from the waste heat being produced by the
thermal destruction process, additional energy and emission savings will be
gained. The auto gasification process will reduce the ship’s waste to less than 5
percent of the original volume, and will produce Bio Char, a sterilised inert
material, and syngas (synthesis gas), which is recycled within the unit as fuel.

Wärtsilä solutions to support Hurtigruten’s green
push in expedition cruises
The technology group Wärtsilä will supply a broad scope of solutions that
will support Hurtigruten, the world’s largest expedition cruise operator, in
its push for greener and more sustainable shipping. Hurtigruten, considered
one of the world’s most sustainable cruise operators, is converting an
additional three vessels to become premium, hybrid powered expedition
cruise ships. The order with Wärtsilä was placed in Q2 2019 and covers the
‘MS Finnmarken’, the first of the three vessels to be upgraded. Following
the conversion project, the 140 metre, 530 guest MS Finnmarken will be
renamed the MS Otto Sverdrup. The scope includes upgrading the ship’s
Wärtsilä engines for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology to
restrict emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx). Four Wärtsilä Nitrogen Oxide
Reducer (NOR) systems will be installed for this conversion. Wärtsilä will
also deliver two Energopac systems. The integrated propeller and rudder
design of the WärtsiläEnergopac utilises advanced hydrodynamic
technology to optimise propulsion efficiency. This enables effective
savings in fuel, costs, and emissions. The ship will also have the capability

Volkswagen and Northvolt form joint venture for
battery production
Volkswagen AG and Northvolt AB have created a 50/50 joint
venture to build a factory for lithium-ion batteries. Construction
of the production facility is scheduled to start in Salzgitter
(Lower Saxony) in 2020. Start of production is planned for the
end of 2023/beginning of 2024. The initial annual output is to
be 16 GWh. The finalization of the joint venture is the result of
an agreement which both parties concluded in June. Part of the
approximately 900 million euros invested by Volkswagen is
now flowing into the joint venture. Another part goes directly to
Northvolt. In return, Volkswagen has received about 20 percent
of the shares in the Swedish battery manufacturer and a seat on
the Supervisory Board.As part of the electrification strategy, the
Volkswagen Group alone has an annual demand of more than

secure, reliable network operation and, at the same time, enable home charging

also be maintained. Until now, home charging stations have generally been integrated
without external control or possibilities for intervention. As a result, distribution
networks reach their capacity limits when a large number of electric cars are charged

Eramet, BASF and SUEZ partner to develop an innovative closed-loop process for the recycling
of lithium-ion batteries, responding to the strong growth of the market in the coming years
The “Recycling Li-ion batteries for electric Vehicle” (ReLieVe) project, founded by
Eramet, BASF and SUEZ, will receive a substantial funding of €4.7 million by EIT
Raw Materials, a consortium initiated and funded by the European Union, and the
three members. The objective is to develop an innovative closed-loop process to
recycle lithium-ion batteries from electric vehicles and to enable the production of
new lithium-ion batteries in Europe.As of January 2020, and over a two-year period,
the project ReLieVe will carry out a series of activities for the large-scale
development of this innovative process and the structuring of an integrated industrial
sector: from the collection and dismantling of end-of-life batteries going into
recycling all the way to the manufacturing of new electrode materials.The
collaboration along the value chain supports an efficient and integrated approach.
The industrial members of the project are leaders in their sector and are ideally
placed in the value chain: SUEZ for collection and dismantling of end-of-life
batteries; Eramet for the development of the recycling process; and BASF for the

companies will design and build seven state-of-the-art vessels for sustainable sea
transportation for UPM in Europe.Bore Ltd will build three (3) RoLo vessels for
transporting UPM’s paper products and WijnneBarends four (4) LoLo vessels for

in China and are scheduled to be delivered in 2021 and 2022. When taken into
service, the vessels will employ approximately 60 maritime transportation

Mitsubishi Chemical Wins Judgement in Red Phosphor Patent Infringement
Litigation against Intematix of U.S. and 2 Chinese Companies
Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation announced that on July 31, in the first
hearing on the case in the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court, it
obtained a judgement recognizing the infringement of its patent for red
phosphor in China by the defendants, U.S.-based Intematix Corporation, its
affiliate in China, Intematix Suzhou Lighting Co., Ltd., and its sales
agency, GrandLux Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. (collectively, “Intematix and
two companies”).MCC filed a suit in the Shenzhen Intermediate People's
Court alleging that products of Intematix and two companies infringed on
the patent (No. ZL201110066517.7*) for red phosphor, owned by MCC
and the National Institute for Materials Science. MCC sought an injunction
on the production and sale of phosphors in China and damages in this
litigation. The court recognized MCC’s claim and adjudicated an injunction
to the aforementioned Intematix and two companies’ infringement action
and to order Intematix and two companies to pay a total of 2 million yuan
(approximately 30 million yen) as compensation.
