The tasks
• Reading and Use of English: 1 hour 30 minutes
Candidates need to be able to understand texts
from publications such as fiction and non-fiction
books, journals, newspapers and magazines.
Candidates’ use of English is tested by tasks which
show how well they can control their grammar
and vocabulary.

• Listening: approximately 40 mins
The paper contains four parts. Each part contains
a recorded text or texts and corresponding
comprehension tasks. Each part is heard twice.
Text types consist of monologues or interacting
speakers, in the style of interviews, discussions,
conversations, radio plays, talks, speeches,
lectures, commentaries, documentaries,
instructions.
