LAUNCHED THE ‘CITY FINANCE RANKINGS 2022
• The draft rules for a new city ranking system based
on financial performance and beauty were recently
announced by the Union Minister of Housing and
Urban Affairs.
• The goal of the 'City Finance Rankings 2022' is to
evaluate and reward urban local governments based
on their resource mobilization, spending
performance, and fiscal governance systems.
• The goal of the 'City Finance Rankings 2022' is to
analyze, recognize, and reward ULBs based on their
performance in three financial areas: resource
mobilization, spending performance, and fiscal
governance systems.

3. MANIPUR AND HOME AFFAIRS MINISTRY SIGNED
CESSATIONS OF OPERATIONS AGREEMENT WITH ZUF
ARMED GROUP
• The Union government and the government of
Manipur have signed a cease-fire deal with the
Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF).
• ZUF is a Naga armed organization located in
Manipur that has been advocating for a separate
state for the Zeliangrong Naga tribe.
• The deal calls for the armed cadres to be
rehabilitated and resettled.

4. PRODUCER NITIN MANMOHAN PASSES AWAY
• Nitin Manmohan, a film producer, died on December,
29, 2022, morning in Mumbai.
• The producer was well-known for his support for films
such as Bol Radha Bol, Laadla, Ready, and Bhoot.
• He began his career as a director with the movie Prithvi
in 1997. He was also the director of the romantic
action movie Maha Sangram.

5. MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT LAUNCHED
NATIONAL MOBILE MONITORING SOFTWARE
• The Minister of Rural Development launched
the National Mobile Monitoring Software
(NMMS) App in 2021.
• From January 1, 2023, employees employed
under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural
Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGREGS)
will be required to digitally capture their
attendance.
• The National Smartphone Monitoring System
(NMMS) mobile application is used to track
attendance.

6. DELHI AIR QUALITY: DELHI AQI TURNS
'HAZARDOUS', THICK LAYER OF SMOG BLANKETS
CITY
• Delhi air quality turned hazardous on November 5, 2021
following Diwali, despite a complete ban on crackers.
• A thick layer of smog blanketed the region, reducing
visibility across the capital.
• The Delhi aqi was recorded to be 902 at Anand Vihar at
10 am on November 5 and lung-damaging fine particles
known as PM2.5 shot up to 494 micrograms per cubic
metre, while PM10 levels shot up to 902 micrograms per
cubic metre mark.
• Several citizens woke up with watery eyes and an itchy
throat due to the smoggy haze.
• The Delhi pollution level is only expected to get worse
with a likely increase in fumes from farm fires.

7. PM MODI IN KEDARNATH: PM OFFERS PRAYERS AT
KEDARNATH TEMPLE, INAUGURATES PROJECTS
WORTH RS. 130 CRORES
• Prime Minister Modi arrived in Kedarnath,
Uttarakhand on the morning of November 5,
2021, and offered prayers at the Kedarnath
Temple.
• During his visit, Prime Minister Modi also
inaugurated the Samadhi and unveiled the
statue of Shri Adi Shankaracharya.
• The samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya has been
reconstructed after its destruction in the
Uttarakhand floods in 2013.

8. RAHUL DRAVID APPOINTED AS HEAD COACH OF
TEAM INDIA
• Rahul Dravid was appointed as the head
coach of Team India (Senior) on November 3,
2021.
• He was unanimously chosen for the post by
the Cricket Advisory Committee comprising
Sulakshana Naik and RP Singh.
• The former India skipper will take charge of
the Indian cricket team from the upcoming
home T20 series against New Zealand.

9. COVAXIN GRANTED MUCH-AWAITED WHO
APPROVAL
• The World Health Organisation (WHO) granted its
much-awaited Emergency Use Listing (EUL) to India's
first indigenously developed COVID-19 vaccine,
Covaxin on November 3, 2021.
• The vaccine has now been added to the growing
portfolio of vaccines that have received a go-ahead
from WHO for emergency use against COVID-19.
• Following the WHO's EUL Listing approval, Bharat
Biotech MD Dr Krishna Ella said in a video, "Today,
Covaxin got EUL from WHO. It's a momentous
occasion for Indian innovation, entrepreneurship,
startup & Indian science. We're grateful to the PM &
many respected people who took Covaxin to instill
confidence in Indian science."

10. PM MODI LAUNCHES GREEN GRIDS INITIATIVE –
ONE SUN ONE WORLD ONE GRID AT COP26 SUMMIT
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 2,
2021, launched the Green Grids Initiative – One
Sun One World One Grid (GGI-OSOWOG)
initiative jointly with his UK counterpart Boris
Johnson at the event ‘Accelerating Clean
Technology Innovation and Deployment’ at
COP26 Climate Summit at Glasgow.
• In May 2021, India and the UK had agreed to
combine the Green Grids Initiative and the One
Sun One World One Grid and jointly launch GGI-
OSOWOG at the COP26 Climate Summit in
Glasgow in November 2021.
