Dear Mr.
We had the opportunity to speak at the Deloitte information session held for the Association for Information Systems (AIS) at Temple University, and I would like to express my interest in becoming a Federal Business Technology Analyst Summer Scholar Intern. Based upon your intern selection criteria, my technological aptitude, my analytical thinking skills, and my leadership abilities make me a perfect fit for this opportunity and your company.
My technological aptitude can be measured through my knowledge of coding languages, my web development experience, and my knowledge of hardware and operating systems. I currently know three coding languages: HTML, C++, and C#, and I am in the process of learning PHP. I also have web-development experience from creating my current e-portfolio and coordinating with the former VP of IT in AIS to create the current AIS website. While at SAP, I learned about the hardware components of IBM, Sun, HP, and Dell servers, and utilized Linux, Unix, and Windows OS. My current technological skills fit well with the requirements of a BTA Summer Scholar Intern.
My analytical thinking skills were put to the test during a functional mailbox, group mailbox, improvement project when I was a business IS intern at Dow Chemical. I was assigned a project to provide recommendations for improvement on the functional mailbox provisioning process. In order to do this I completed in depth analysis of the current system by completing the creation process myself, checking for inconsistencies, and interviewing owners and user ...

Dear Mr.
We had the opportunity to speak at the Deloitte information
session held for the Association for Information Systems (AIS)
at Temple University, and I would like to express my interest in
becoming a Federal Business Technology Analyst Summer
Scholar Intern. Based upon your intern selection criteria, my
technological aptitude, my analytical thinking skills, and my
leadership abilities make me a perfect fit for this opportunity
and your company.
My technological aptitude can be measured through my
knowledge of coding languages, my web development
experience, and my knowledge of hardware and operating
systems. I currently know three coding languages: HTML, C++,
and C#, and I am in the process of learning PHP. I also have
web-development experience from creating my current e-
portfolio and coordinating with the former VP of IT in AIS to
create the current AIS website. While at SAP, I learned about
the hardware components of IBM, Sun, HP, and Dell servers,
and utilized Linux, Unix, and Windows OS. My current
technological skills fit well with the requirements of a BTA
Summer Scholar Intern.
My analytical thinking skills were put to the test during a
functional mailbox, group mailbox, improvement project when I
3. was a business IS intern at Dow Chemical. I was assigned a
project to provide recommendations for improvement on the
functional mailbox provisioning process. In order to do this I
completed in depth analysis of the current system by completing
the creation process myself, checking for inconsistencies, and
interviewing owners and users of functional mailboxes. At the
end of my analysis I was able to provide over 30 value-added
suggestions from small changes in formatting, to more complex
solutions such as restructuring the help-documentation to fit the
users’ needs. My experience with the functional mailbox
improvement process demonstrates my analytical thinking
skills, skills that make me a great fit for the position of a BTA
Summer Scholar intern.
I also demonstrate leadership abilities, which is a key
characteristic of any BTA Summer Scholar intern. I led a team
of four Temple University students, in conjunction with Merck
in creating an application to identify pills using photo
recognition software. During this process I set goals for my
team, designated roles and responsibilities, and defined what
was expected of every group member to make this project a
success. Despite tight deadlines and busy schedules, my team
produced a working design prototype of the application. My
demonstrated leadership abilities throughout the creation of this
application align with the characteristics required of a BTA
Summer Scholar intern.
My technological aptitude, my analytical thinking skills, and
my leadership abilities are a perfect match for the position
based upon the job selection criteria. I welcome the opportunity
to speak with you further about this position, and would like to
arrange an interview for this position at your convenience.
Please feel free to call my cell-phone at 610-909-9724 if you
have any questions about me or my qualifications. Thank you
for taking the time to consider me for this position, and I hope
to hear from you soon.
