Modeling the Effect of Variation of Recruitment Rate on the Transmission Dyna...IOSR Journals
In this Paper, the effect of the variation of recruitment rate on the transmission dynamics of
tuberculosis was studied by modifying an existing model. While the recruitment rate into the susceptible class of
the existing model is constant, in our modified model we used a varying recruitment rate. The models were
analyzed analytically and numerically and these results were compared. The Disease Free Equilibrium (DFE)
state of the existing model was found to be
,0,0,0
, the DFE of the modified model was found to be
( ,0,0,0) * S where * S is arbitrary. While all the eigenvalue of the existing model are negative, one of the
eigenvalues of the modified model is zero. The basic reproduction number o R of both models are established to
be the same. The numerical experiments show a gradual decline in the infected and exposed populations as the
recruitment rates increase in both models but the decline is more in the modified model than in the existing
model. This implies that eradication will be achieved faster using the model with a varying recruitment rate.

‘When Food Kills’: A socio-technical systems analysis of the UK Pennington 19...Rounaq Nayak
In 1996 and 2005, two of the largest E. coli O157 outbreaks occurred in the UK. Many people were infected after consuming meat resulting in a number of deaths. In the present study we applied a systems approach to both the outbreak reports to analyse and compare the accidents. Using the Accimap method of systems analysis, this study investigates the human errors and organisational issues involved in the outbreaks and why accidents such as these occur in the food production domain. The systems analysis carried out in this study on the two outbreaks indicates that there are both common as well as unique factors associated with the two outbreaks. The study concludes that it is necessary to address food safety from a systemic point of view and identify and solve the various problems that could arise in the system, in the pre-incubation period before the outbreak actually occurs.

Antibiotic exposure and the development of coeliac disease: a nationwide case...Enrique Moreno Gonzalez
The intestinal microbiota has been proposed to play a pathogenic role in coeliac disease (CD). Although antibiotics are common environmental factors with a profound impact on intestinal microbiota, data on antibiotic use as a risk factor for subsequent CD development are scarce.

he incidence of group B Streptococci in pregnant women varies significantly by location, ranging from 13.6% in Windhoek, Namibia, 21.2% in Malawi , 31.6% in Zimbabwe, 37% in South Africa , 1.8% in Mozambique, 15.7% in Ethiopia, 19% in Ivory coast, 22% in Gambia (Haimbodi et al., 2021).
Previous studies on occupational exposures in parents and cancer risks in their children support a
link between solvents and paints with childhood leukaemia. Few studies have focused specifically on benzene.
Objectives: To examine whether parental occupational exposure to benzene is associated with an increased
cancer risk in a census-based cohort of children.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.
