1. Reflection
In my work to done this task, I had reaches many trouble. I can’t find the material
of sample report. So I try to find another way. I try to find the material of event report,
survey report and meeting report in internet and books from library.
I also cannot find the best report in the books from library because it not a
university level but academic books in primary school only. So I decide to go to asked
En Ghazali about the sample report of event report, survey report and meeting report
and where I can find the material of university level of report. After that I try to find the
outline of the report that I found in the internet. I tried to use the outline to make an
event report and complete my task in English Language Proficiency.
Beside that, I also stuck when I do this task because of the task’s question. I
cannot understand what is the task exactly wanted. So I decide to see my lecturer, En
Ghazali Bin Abdullah to ask him kindness to show me what are this task really want. It is
not easy to meet with En Ghazali because he always not is around the Institute.
Sometimes he has meeting and Bina Insan Guru, so I cannot see him if I have a
problem in my task.
I feel much enjoyed when doing the task because I can learn many things such
as how to find books in the library, how to search internet and the outline of the report.
All of it can help me in my studies to become an English teacher soon. Because of him,
now I have understand what to do and then I do it on my own and completely done
before the date of submission. I really thankful to all of who had helped me to did my
work.
2. Learning Trip to Butterfly National Park
Our Science and mathematics Society chose butterfly national Park as its excursion
destination for 2008. ‘Butterfly Park’ as it is popularly called, is not among the bigger
butterfly national park in Kuala Lumpur, but it is the one which is most accessible by
road, and hence many people’s favorites park.
Our group of twenty Society members and two lecturers left the institute in a
chartered bus at 9 a.m. on Saturdays, 1 December 2008. Everyone had mobile phones,
laptops and cameras. One lecturer brought along a laptop loaded with information about
the park including descriptions of its flora and fauna. We were all anticipating an
enjoyable weekend of exploration and discovery.
On arrival 5 hours later, we registered at the park’s headquarters (HQ) as
required. The accommodation at the park was reasonably priced and varied. We plan to
make a campsite in the park because we want to learn many things in the Butterfly
National Park. There were chalet units and hostel-type rooms, but we all wanted to try
camping because the weather was good and we had brought tents. After some
refreshments at the headquarters cafeteria, we headed off for the campsite to set up our
tents. The lecturers were such a great help and the team spirit shown by all was
refreshing. After eating our packed lunch, we returned to the park headquarters to meet
up with a guide for our afternoon forest stroll.
We chose a short trail for our first journey into the forest. We were told by our
guide that new species of butterfly and small creatures continued to be identified from
time to time. It was rather exciting when we were able to name a plant or insect by
looking up information on the internet. All too soon, it was back to the canteen for simple
dinner before a campsite sing-along and bed. We were all too tired to complain about
the lumpy ground.
3. After breakfast of eggs and tea or milk with biscuits, we packed up and returned
to the park headquarters for another forest walk. This time, we went farther into the
forest because we had been told that we could see animals such as monkeys, squirrels,
mouse deer, birds, snakes and large lizards. Unfortunately, we only saw birds and
butterfly and some shapes jumping from tree to tree. Nobody had remembered to bring
binoculars. Perhaps our happy voices had frightened the entire animal away. We were
told that the best time to see any park animals was early in the morning or late in the
evening.
About 5 p.m., our chartered bus arrived and it was time to go. We arrived safely
at institute at 9 p.m., Sunday, 2 December 2008.
We reported at the Science and Mathematics Society’s meeting that Butterfly
national Park was a suitable destination for overnight institute trips, that costs could be
kept low if tents were used and that comfortable shoes were essential.
