Group Process paper
Our group is a 5–member team whose goal was to finish the assignment on time. We were committed to working together to be successful because our
class experience and grade was related to successfully completing this assignment. Our team worked together collaboratively to analyze the issue and to
plan for an organized presentation. When we began our meeting, we knew that we wanted our end–results to be some sort of solution and action plan
for the assignment given. All of our members were competent and each contributed valuable input to the discussion. Our assignment was to find out
why the iMeeting portal's reception and use was met with mediocre results by NTCNA...show more content...
The email was a bad decision because people might not go through the trouble of filling out the word file. The paper format will certainly not work
because it would be hard to distribute out to all users and Luke would have to do all the work. I suggested the group that we should do online survey.
One of the things that worked well in our group was the willingness of those in the group to listen to each other and entertain various viewpoints. I
think that mutual respect is the key when working with groups. Each of us played different roles in the group: some of us were listeners, some of us
were leaders, and some who were initially listeners became leaders as the group went on. Within our group we had different personality types and
communication styles.
Because we did not begin with an assigned or designated leader, different types of power showed up in each person's leadership as a result of
personalities and previous experience. The team roles were adopted informally by all the team members. The leadership role was not formally
assigned so everyone just worked on their assigned asks. We trusted each other for completing the tasks. However, leaders emerged in the group as
leading email discussion, leading face to face group discussion, or leading discussion on webct. I developed initial task role of contributor by
suggesting online survey. After the surveys were

Baldwin is very much a team. Different roles have been assigned to each individual member based on the ranking of the interest and experience of
each member in the discussion board post at the beginning of the semester. Each week we will meet on Wednesday evenings on the campus of
MSSU in the Spiva Library Building. Members who cannot attend in person will be expected to Skype in to present their decisions for their
department for the upcoming round and to answer for any unexpected failure in the previous round. Here is where we will make our final
decisions for the week. Each group member is responsible for their assigned area of expertise. When we meet we will have each reviewed the prior
round results for the different areas and discuss what when wrong and what we need to address for the next round. All upcoming decisions will be
made one by one after reaching a consensus on each area. Any decisions that are disputed, the final decisions will be rendered by the CEO....show more

increases our ROE and end stock price. Also, since we plan not on carrying extra inventory we will be producing what we need so our ROA should
increase as well. The weighted decisions are possible because we are cornering the market with a quality product and undercutting our competitive
price for our low end product. Finally, with Baldwin being successful in the industry our ending stock price and market capitalization will also

A Specified Process Paper Process
Writing for some people can be an extreme challenge for others it can be quite effortless. Even so, the really demanding task is to become specific. A
specified process paper requires the writer to write an extremely dynamic paper and to be extraordinarily descriptive. The answer to writing a specified
process paper lays in two crucial steps, of narrowing down a topic and writing the paper itself. By preforming these to important steps will lead a writer
to becoming more descriptive in writing.
Beginning the first crucial step to writing a specified process paper is to come up with a narrow subject or topic. The idea is to start massive and end
minuscule. The whole point of the paper is to get the topic narrow as feasible. So by taking a

The Process of Papermaking
The United States had been the world's leading producer of paper until it was overtaken by China in 2009. The paper industry is dominated by North
American, Northern European and East Asian countries. Paper is discovered by the Chinese 2000 years ago, it has been used ever since as a
communication medium. Paper is always around with people and paper is actually documenting the world. It plays a vital role as a passport to
knowledge, a storage medium, a persuasive tool and an entertaining art form. Paper is a sustainable resource and permanent document. It is the
universal medium on which to chronicle every day history which carries the past. Papermaking today is a large, capital–intensive industry, characterized

After that, an alkaline chemical solution and steam are used to dissolve the lignin, the fiber is held together by the glue. The sawdust is cooked in
a continuous digester in which the sawdust, chemical solution and steam are added continuously. Then, sawdust pulp is discharged from the
digester. The wood chips are cooked in batch digesters where the chips and the chemical solution are added at the beginning of the cooking
process. In this process, steam is continuously added to batch digester to cook the chips, and the pulp is discharged at the end. Next, the process of
separating the used chemicals from the pulp fiber is done by the brown stock washers. The chemicals are then delivered to the chemical recovery
process for reused and recycle in mill (Froass, Ragauskas, & Jiang, 2008). The washed pulp is then processed through screens to removed oversized
debris before the high quality fiber is sent to storage for papermaking.
The third stage for paper–making process is mechanical pulping. Mechanical attrition is used to pulp lignocellulosic material to produce the pulp.
Lignin is reserved in the pulp to produce good harvest of the pulp. The pulp turns yellow while lignin is exposed to the light and air. Stringer bark
and dirt tolerances are used with the chip aged below than two weeks. At the same chip, it is discolored by recession and air oxidation. Before the

Effective Group Process Paper
A challenge to effective group process that can have multiple negative effects is lack of focus. When a group loses focus it is easier to lose the
attention of members and have confusion about what is being discussed and why. One way that focus can be maintained is by agreeing to a group
charter and posting this charter in a place that everyone can see. Research has demonstrated that development of a team charter facilitates effective
group dynamics among business students ( Byrd & Luthy, 2010). When the group agrees ahead of time on how group discussions should occur it
enables the facilitator to simply remind everyone of the agreement when discussions become unfocused. Similarly, Barsky (2014) suggested that when
groups feel they have

Artistic Process Paper
Everyone has different ways of interpreting what their writing and artistic process is. Both of these processes are similar in many ways, but also
different depending on what kind of artist or writer you are. For this paper, I interviewed several different people, some who are great artists, some
who are great writers and some that do not like either. I also examined both of my processes comparing how they are similar and different. There
were a couple questions I asked myself and each person I interviewed so it would be easier to compare each of their processes. The four main
questions were asking if they liked having food or coffee during this process, if the processes were similar or different, and to define the two
processes according to their own definition. Since I am a photographer, I approach my artistic process differently than other artists. I plan on where I
am going to go take pictures, but I do not plan on what I am going to take pictures of. I normally go to abandon houses or places to take pictures. I
take pictures of everything at different angles and try to get a different perspective on the way things are normally...show more content...

the process by actually looking at what she is going to be painting so she travels a lot to find different settings. She does not have a rough draft, she
just begins painting on canvas. After she is done, she does touch ups and finishes the painting. I realized as she was telling me that she does not go

Mental Process Paper
Mental Process Paper
The mental process is the performance of some composite cognitive activity; an operation that affects mental contents; "the process of thinking", the
cognitive operation of remembering (Farlex, 2008). The mental mindset includes four styles of creative intelligence: Intuitive, Innovative, Imaginative
and Inspirational. This paper will compare and contrast the four styles of creative intelligence and their influences on organizational decision making,
include examples of how mental models/mind sets might limit the decision making process and explain how these models influence my decision
making in the workplace.

Imaginative
Imaginative can be defined as artistic, dreamy, and poetic (WikiHow, 2008). Anyone being imaginative can enjoy life at all events.Innovation involves
developing the imaginative mindset. It involves clearing the mind of preconceptions, value judgments and expectations (Halls, 2006). In order for an
employee to be imaginative, he or she must be inquisitive, ask questions and learn something new ever minute. It is good to be a good listener as well
putting themselves in different situations narrated by different people. Being imaginative can increase the ability to fulfill any goal or desires by using
affirmation techniques. There are no boundaries to imagination, only a limit to the amount of experiences that feed it. In order to be imaginative,
people have to position themselves to be imaginative. Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and
imaginative vision against the play–it–safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary (Beaton, 2008).
Inspirational
Inspirational is being inspired to do something. In the workplace, management problems disappear when employees are truly inspired and motivated to
do their best, when they remember why they came in to work in the first place. When it comes

Planning Process Paper
The Planning Process
There are many companies around the world that have been very successful in their business. Though the one thing that all these companies have in
common is planning diligently, "planning is the conscious, systematic process of making decisions about goals and activities that an individual, group,
work unit, or organization will pursue in the future" (Bateman & Snell, 2007, 118). In this paper, will be listed the basic planning process as follows;
Situational Analysis, Alternative Goals and Plans, Goal andPlan Evaluation, Goal and Plan Selection, Implantation, Monitor and Control. I will
compare the planning process to my current workplace. Followed by what I believe would be more crucial and why I think that. Also, I...show more

By us being sure that are customers are aware of the survey ahead of time, we are more than likely to get a better knowledge of where we may need
to focus more on improving or attempting the consumer's ideas. By doing so, we are more like to achieve reaching our goals.
Step #2: Alternative Goals and Plans–"based on the situational analysis, the planning process should generate alternative goals that may be pursued in
the future and the alternative plans that may be used to achieve those goals" (Bateman & Snell, 2007). A lot of our goals set at work are not just to
be sure that all customers are happy but also that they know if there's something that has not instantly been put into effect that we are still in the
process of doing so. It may be something that takes a little more financial effort as well as time. For example, a lot of customer have mentioned the
would like if their vehicle was washed and vacuumed after every service. We state the following to the customer when this is brought to our
attention, "As of now we are relocating to another facility, fortunately we will be in a bigger building that will also have a car wash available. But
for now we have washed your windows and vacuumed the vehicle. We look forward to being able to serve you better."
Step #3: Goal and Plan Evaluation–"next, managers will evaluate the advantages, disadvantages, and potential effects of each alternative goal and plan"

PACU Workflow Process Paper
The lessons learned from our project and practical experience are being derived from all the phases of the project.
The Planning Phase, allowed our team to work closely with the CC team, under the direction of the OR Director, and the Faculty Advisor. The OR
department (PACU) at Cleveland Clinic was selected as the main area of interest in which to apply the knowledge, and skills gained during the courses
in a real–world setting. I found that we need more frequent communication among team members and stakeholders, to make sure that our messages are
clear and to coordinate better the observation, data collection, and analysis of the performance standards, in order to identify deficiencies or disruptions
of the current PACU workflow process,...show more content...
It will be presented at a meeting with the stakeholders. The findings from the project led to recommendations to CCF OR team. These
recommendations suggest, that the OR department would benefit from investing in technology infrastructure, for example a real time patient tracking
system, allows to improve patient flow through the reports generated by the record of the patient's location, while moving patient through the treatment
system. Furthermore, the management team, needs to apply strategies such as the Lean Six sigma methodology, to carry out an improvements plan,
that allows to take better advantages from the space available, not only in the PACU but also to other areas of the OR department as ACU, Main OR,
SPD, and Supply Room. In addition, a continuous monitoring plan to ensure the gains are maintained.
In summary, with my new insights from the practicum experience; I realized that the most important factor for success of the PACU project is the
human factor. The continuous improvement of the OR department performance resides on; the right level of organization involved, the willingness of
the stakeholders to make changes, and the restructuration of the workflow. I feel better prepared to belong to the Health Information Technology team
after the completion of the program, especially after this practicum

Process Paper: The Vietnam War
Process Paper
We originally chose our topic off of the Cold War standards because that is what we were currently learning in class. We decided on our specific
topic (Vietnam War drafting) for two reasons. The first one was because Ellie's Grandpa, Steve Pomerleau, was drafted into the war in 1969. We
thought it would be a very interesting experience to interview him because he had a personal connection to the war and what happened. The second
reason was because we knew very little about the vietnam war and wanted to know what happened and how it affected the world. We eventually
narrowed down our topic to Vietnam war drafting because many people did not realize how it affected the soldiers.
Our first step in conducting our research was to

My Research Process Paper
When you hear the word "process," what comes to mind? I immediately envision an assembly line. On the assembly line are people following the
same steps over and over again to produce a final product. When writing, we do the same thing; however, we do it in a less stringent manner. We start
with research and then follow the steps of the assembly line until we produce a final product, a written paper. Throughout this examination, I will
discuss three of many steps in my research process for last weeks written assignment. Every paper has a beginning and an end. The research process
required to write that paper is no different. When writing my first paper for English 201 I had to find my beginning. My step one of the assembly line
was determining the best location to conduct my research. Did I want to go to the library or could I start my research at home? Since the first
assignment was about online learning, a trip to the library was not required. I would conduct online research for this paper. The internet has a wealth
of information about every subject I have every needed to research. Step one was officially complete and it was time to pass my paper down the
assembly line for...show more content...
The impacts of online education is evolving as I write. My paper was about current impacts of online education. One reference I found was from
1994. A lot of has changed about online education in the past 21 years. In 1994, I would of never imagined completing high school online yet it is a
reality of 2015. Therefore, reading about the impacts of online education in 1994 would be vastly different than reading an article written in 2010 or
later. Other options were rejected for lack of credability. Since Wikipedia can be edited by any user I immediately rejected the idea of conducting
research there. Sifting through websites was just one of the many steps in the research paper assembly

Procedure Change Process Objective: The objective of this document is to provide a guideline to implementing procedural or organizational change.
This document addresses the different types of change and how to address possible resistance. Depending on the type of change, each will have its
own different type of resistance. This document should be used as a guideline to address the necessary steps required to ensure a seamless transition
to organizational change. It should also be used to address any issues or concerns that may occur during the organizational change. Teleological

Address the reason why a change is needed and when it will be implemented. In this theory, a meeting is best to proactively approach the idea of a
change. In the meeting, address why change is needed. If there is a product sold at another company that is reducing down sales, consider the idea
of either improving the current product or adding additional products. Also, consider a meeting to allow everyone to bring their ideas to the table.
If everyone is on board and feel they are part of the change, they are more willing to participate. (Umble 2014). This engages the employees making
them feel a part of the team and the change. The perception is that they are part of the change and will have job security. Allow everyone to come to
an agreed decision of what changes need to be made and how it can be improved. Be sure to include everyone in the decision making. Possible
Resistance Possible resistance to this change is that some people will not see that there is competition or they may feel that the current product is a
good product and it does not need to change. To address this resistance, provide facts of the sales. Pull public sales numbers from the competitors and
compare it to the company to show that the other organization is gaining

The Writing Process Essay
The Writing Process
Writing a paper on the writing process is pretty hard. The writing process is different from one person to another. You come across questions like,
'What exactly is the writing process?'; and 'Must you follow one persons writing process if yours is different?'; This is where I came across the
answer to my questions, write however you wish to write. If one person likes free write first and another person likes to write a draft first, let them do
how they please.
The writing process is something that you figure out yourself as you go through school. I personally think that is why they make us take English for so
many years. Through the years, I found that some teachers forced you to write certain ways. I believe that...show more content...
I don't agree with him. The only way for someone to improve his or her writing is if a peer reads over it and explains what could be done to improve it.
In The Maker's Eye: Revising Your Own Manuscript, Murray says, 'Writers must learn to be their own worst enemy'; (Murray 87). He is trying to
say that when it comes to editing, you must be able to accept criticism from others and be suspicious of it. Just because they say that you should
rearrange that paragraph doesn't necessarily mean you have to. The way you wrote the paragraph could be in your own voice.
Your papers should be filled with your voice. Voice is what makes your writing personal. But your voice could be different depending on what you
write about. I would put a lot more of my feelings in a paper about food, than a paper about how the polar ice caps are melting.
Revising and rewriting a paper is a common step in the writing process. Personally, I think your paper would be crap if you skipped these steps but
I'm sure someone has done it before. Every writer has revised and rewritten a paper. Do you think that Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet in one
shot? I don't think so.
In conclusion, writing is up to the writer. If the writer decides to follow the formal writing process, then that's their choice. Nothing should be forced
when it comes to writing. Then the writer does not put out their best work possible. Thank you for reading my

The Stress Process Paper
I have learned so much about stress process and how it affects health. Stress is how we understand and respond to stressors. I have learned we all
appraise our stress and respond to the stressors differently. One important aspect about stress is that it can aid us or hinder us. For example, eustress,
which is considered good stress, and distress, is known as bad stress. The process of stress can begin with us experiencing the stressor, then
understanding how much control we have over the stressor. This process is explained in detail in the Lazarus model.
The body response to stress consists of a well–known topic like fight or flight and general adaptation syndrome. We deal with stress on day–to–day
bases but prolonged amounts of stress can

By using the strength based approach it is "deploying personal strengths to aid recovery and empowerment"(McClam & Woodside, 2012). Essentially,
when your client can focus on their health and well–being, it allows them to grasp this approach where the goal is to encourage the positive. This
approach supports and motivates change for the client. Having the client participate and involved in making decisions about their treatment, it supports
and guides them to reaching their goals"(McClam & Woodside, 2012). Throughout the interview the case manager showed Alia effective
communication skills to show Alia she was trying to understand what she was trying to tell her. The case manager displayed her effective
communication skills by making appropriate eye contact and with her relaxed body posture. Listening to what Alia was saying and to what was not
actually being said showcased the case manager's skill of active listening. "Asking client's appropriate questions during the interview process is THE

Decision–Making Process Paper
MGT/230

Abstract
The decision–making process has six stages. These stages consist of identifying and diagnosing the problem, generating alternative solutions, evaluating
alternatives, making the choice, implementing the decision, and evaluate the decision. Choosing to go back to school and what school to attend was a
problem that I had that needed to be figured out. I did not use the decision–making process; if I had I am not sure if my decision would have been the
same.
Deciding to go back to school was something I thought about for a few months but taking the steps to do so was something that only took an hour to
do. The decision–making process has six stages but I may have only...show more content...
Also if I had taken the steps to talk to daycares about putting my youngest child in one, I would not have to worry about finding a babysitter when I
went to school. The decision–making process would have made me ask questions about what I wanted and what I could do. The process also would
have allowed me to evaluate my decision and determine if a community college would have been right. My problem was going back to school and
which school to attend. I may not have followed the decision–making process but I do believe I have made the right choice. The decision–making
process has six stages: identify and diagnose the problem, generate alternative solutions, evaluate alternatives, make the choice, implement the decision,
and evaluate the decision. The decision–making process can be very effective if one were to use it.

Emphysema is the most common cause of death from respiratory disease in the United States and is generally caused by several years of heavy
cigarette smoking (Olendorf, 2000). When a person smokes, the body's immune system tries to fight off the invading smoke by using certain
substances. These substances can also attack the cells of the lungs, but normally the body is able to release other substances to prevent this. In the
case of people who are smokers, this doesn't happen and the original substances that were released to fight off the smoke also end up injuring the cells
of the lungs as well. Eventually, the lungs will not be able to supply enough oxygen to the blood and a host of problems can occur with this. Risk
factors that have been identified for emphysema include exposure to tobacco smoke either through active or passive smoking (2nd hand smoke),
occupational exposure such as dust or chemicals, ambient air pollution, or genetic abnormalities, including a deficiency of alpha–antitrypsin, an
enzyme inhibitor that normally counteracts the destruction of lung tissue by certain other enzymes (Smeltzer, 2010). The symptoms of emphysema
develop gradually over many years. It is generally characterized by three primary symptoms: chronic cough, sputum production, and dyspnea on
exertion. Other signs and symptoms include weight loss and the development of a

Asthma is a chronic disease that affects individuals, families, and the community.
Asthmatic individuals can suffer from a reduced quality of life that is both physical and psychological. It was estimated in 2009 that approximately

Onboarding is a critical component in the development of new employees. The first 12–18 months is the most tentative portion of an individual's
employment, with most employees making the decision to stay or leave during this time (Bennington, 2011; Wiley Manager, 2012). After the time and
effort taken to recruit and hire talented and capable employees, organizations must use this period to their advantage through an effective onboarding
process. This process is used to integrate and familiarize an individual with the organization, its workforce, and the position that will be held (Noe,
2012, p. 404). It is during this period that new employees acquire the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors they will need to be effective in both

through an employee social network (Noe, 2012, p. 336). This type of social media would allow for informal communication between employees,
sharing organizational anecdotes, advice, and experiences–all helping to communicate the culture and norms of the company. This information could

  • 1. Group Process Paper Pankaj Garg Date: 04/17/2006 ORG 530 (online) Group Process paper Our group is a 5–member team whose goal was to finish the assignment on time. We were committed to working together to be successful because our class experience and grade was related to successfully completing this assignment. Our team worked together collaboratively to analyze the issue and to plan for an organized presentation. When we began our meeting, we knew that we wanted our end–results to be some sort of solution and action plan for the assignment given. All of our members were competent and each contributed valuable input to the discussion. Our assignment was to find out why the iMeeting portal's reception and use was met with mediocre results by NTCNA...show more content... The email was a bad decision because people might not go through the trouble of filling out the word file. The paper format will certainly not work because it would be hard to distribute out to all users and Luke would have to do all the work. I suggested the group that we should do online survey. One of the things that worked well in our group was the willingness of those in the group to listen to each other and entertain various viewpoints. I think that mutual respect is the key when working with groups. Each of us played different roles in the group: some of us were listeners, some of us were leaders, and some who were initially listeners became leaders as the group went on. Within our group we had different personality types and communication styles. Because we did not begin with an assigned or designated leader, different types of power showed up in each person's leadership as a result of personalities and previous experience. The team roles were adopted informally by all the team members. The leadership role was not formally assigned so everyone just worked on their assigned asks. We trusted each other for completing the tasks. However, leaders emerged in the group as leading email discussion, leading face to face group discussion, or leading discussion on webct. I developed initial task role of contributor by suggesting online survey. After the surveys were Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Decision-Making Process Paper Decision–Making Process Baldwin is very much a team. Different roles have been assigned to each individual member based on the ranking of the interest and experience of each member in the discussion board post at the beginning of the semester. Each week we will meet on Wednesday evenings on the campus of MSSU in the Spiva Library Building. Members who cannot attend in person will be expected to Skype in to present their decisions for their department for the upcoming round and to answer for any unexpected failure in the previous round. Here is where we will make our final decisions for the week. Each group member is responsible for their assigned area of expertise. When we meet we will have each reviewed the prior round results for the different areas and discuss what when wrong and what we need to address for the next round. All upcoming decisions will be made one by one after reaching a consensus on each area. Any decisions that are disputed, the final decisions will be rendered by the CEO....show more content... • 3. A Specified Process Paper Process Writing for some people can be an extreme challenge for others it can be quite effortless. Even so, the really demanding task is to become specific. A specified process paper requires the writer to write an extremely dynamic paper and to be extraordinarily descriptive. The answer to writing a specified process paper lays in two crucial steps, of narrowing down a topic and writing the paper itself. By preforming these to important steps will lead a writer to becoming more descriptive in writing. Beginning the first crucial step to writing a specified process paper is to come up with a narrow subject or topic. The idea is to start massive and end minuscule. The whole point of the paper is to get the topic narrow as feasible. So by taking a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The paper industry is dominated by North American, Northern European and East Asian countries. Paper is discovered by the Chinese 2000 years ago, it has been used ever since as a communication medium. Paper is always around with people and paper is actually documenting the world. It plays a vital role as a passport to knowledge, a storage medium, a persuasive tool and an entertaining art form. Paper is a sustainable resource and permanent document. The wood chips are cooked in batch digesters where the chips and the chemical solution are added at the beginning of the cooking process. In this process, steam is continuously added to batch digester to cook the chips, and the pulp is discharged at the end. Next, the process of separating the used chemicals from the pulp fiber is done by the brown stock washers. The chemicals are then delivered to the chemical recovery process for reused and recycle in mill (Froass, Ragauskas, & Jiang, 2008). The washed pulp is then processed through screens to removed oversized debris before the high quality fiber is sent to storage for papermaking. The third stage for paper–making process is mechanical pulping. Mechanical attrition is used to pulp lignocellulosic material to produce the pulp. Lignin is reserved in the pulp to produce good harvest of the pulp. The pulp turns yellow while lignin is exposed to the light and air. • 5. Effective Group Process Paper A challenge to effective group process that can have multiple negative effects is lack of focus. When a group loses focus it is easier to lose the attention of members and have confusion about what is being discussed and why. One way that focus can be maintained is by agreeing to a group charter and posting this charter in a place that everyone can see. Research has demonstrated that development of a team charter facilitates effective group dynamics among business students ( Byrd & Luthy, 2010). When the group agrees ahead of time on how group discussions should occur it enables the facilitator to simply remind everyone of the agreement when discussions become unfocused. Similarly, Barsky (2014) suggested that when groups feel they have Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Both of these processes are similar in many ways, but also different depending on what kind of artist or writer you are. For this paper, I interviewed several different people, some who are great artists, some who are great writers and some that do not like either. I also examined both of my processes comparing how they are similar and different. There were a couple questions I asked myself and each person I interviewed so it would be easier to compare each of their processes. The four main questions were asking if they liked having food or coffee during this process, if the processes were similar or different, and to define the two processes according to their own definition. Since I am a photographer, I approach my artistic process differently than other artists. I plan on where I am going to go take pictures, but I do not plan on what I am going to take pictures of. This paper will compare and contrast the four styles of creative intelligence and their influences on organizational decision making, include examples of how mental models/mind sets might limit the decision making process and explain how these models influence my decision making in the workplace. It involves clearing the mind of preconceptions, value judgments and expectations (Halls, 2006). In order for an employee to be imaginative, he or she must be inquisitive, ask questions and learn something new ever minute. It is good to be a good listener as well putting themselves in different situations narrated by different people. Being imaginative can increase the ability to fulfill any goal or desires by using affirmation techniques. There are no boundaries to imagination, only a limit to the amount of experiences that feed it. In order to be imaginative, people have to position themselves to be imaginative. Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play–it–safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary (Beaton, 2008). Inspirational Inspirational is being inspired to do something. These recommendations suggest, that the OR department would benefit from investing in technology infrastructure, for example a real time patient tracking system, allows to improve patient flow through the reports generated by the record of the patient's location, while moving patient through the treatment system. Furthermore, the management team, needs to apply strategies such as the Lean Six sigma methodology, to carry out an improvements plan, that allows to take better advantages from the space available, not only in the PACU but also to other areas of the OR department as ACU, Main OR, SPD, and Supply Room. In addition, a continuous monitoring plan to ensure the gains are maintained. In summary, with my new insights from the practicum experience; I realized that the most important factor for success of the PACU project is the human factor. The continuous improvement of the OR department performance resides on; the right level of organization involved, the willingness of the stakeholders to make changes, and the restructuration of the workflow. We decided on our specific topic (Vietnam War drafting) for two reasons. The first one was because Ellie's Grandpa, Steve Pomerleau, was drafted into the war in 1969. We thought it would be a very interesting experience to interview him because he had a personal connection to the war and what happened. The second reason was because we knew very little about the vietnam war and wanted to know what happened and how it affected the world. We eventually narrowed down our topic to Vietnam war drafting because many people did not realize how it affected the soldiers. On the assembly line are people following the same steps over and over again to produce a final product. When writing, we do the same thing; however, we do it in a less stringent manner. We start with research and then follow the steps of the assembly line until we produce a final product, a written paper. Throughout this examination, I will discuss three of many steps in my research process for last weeks written assignment. Every paper has a beginning and an end. The research process required to write that paper is no different. When writing my first paper for English 201 I had to find my beginning. My step one of the assembly line was determining the best location to conduct my research. Did I want to go to the library or could I start my research at home? Since the first assignment was about online learning, a trip to the library was not required. I would conduct online research for this paper. You come across questions like, 'What exactly is the writing process?'; and 'Must you follow one persons writing process if yours is different?'; This is where I came across the answer to my questions, write however you wish to write. If one person likes free write first and another person likes to write a draft first, let them do how they please. The only way for someone to improve his or her writing is if a peer reads over it and explains what could be done to improve it. He is trying to say that when it comes to editing, you must be able to accept criticism from others and be suspicious of it. Just because they say that you should rearrange that paragraph doesn't necessarily mean you have to. The way you wrote the paragraph could be in your own voice. Your papers should be filled with your voice. Voice is what makes your writing personal. But your voice could be different depending on what you write about. I would put a lot more of my feelings in a paper about food, than a paper about how the polar ice caps are melting. Revising and rewriting a paper is a common step in the writing process. Personally, I think your paper would be crap if you skipped these steps but I'm sure someone has done it before. Every writer has revised and rewritten a paper. Do you think that Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet in one shot? I don't think so. In conclusion, writing is up to the writer. If the writer decides to follow the formal writing process, then that's their choice. Nothing should be forced when it comes to writing. Then the writer does not put out their best work possible. I have learned we all appraise our stress and respond to the stressors differently. One important aspect about stress is that it can aid us or hinder us. For example, eustress, which is considered good stress, and distress, is known as bad stress. The process of stress can begin with us experiencing the stressor, then understanding how much control we have over the stressor. This process is explained in detail in the Lazarus model. Emphysema is the most common cause of death from respiratory disease in the United States and is generally caused by several years of heavy cigarette smoking (Olendorf, 2000). When a person smokes, the body's immune system tries to fight off the invading smoke by using certain substances. These substances can also attack the cells of the lungs, but normally the body is able to release other substances to prevent this. In the case of people who are smokers, this doesn't happen and the original substances that were released to fight off the smoke also end up injuring the cells of the lungs as well. Eventually, the lungs will not be able to supply enough oxygen to the blood and a host of problems can occur with this. Risk factors that have been identified for emphysema include exposure to tobacco smoke either through active or passive smoking (2nd hand smoke), occupational exposure such as dust or chemicals, ambient air pollution, or genetic abnormalities, including a deficiency of alpha–antitrypsin, an enzyme inhibitor that normally counteracts the destruction of lung tissue by certain other enzymes (Smeltzer, 2010).
