experience to the latest flagship phones from both

4. 3. Now You Can Fist-Bump Phones

The NFC ring is designed to be used in
conjunction with NFC-enabled gadgets,
such as smartphones and tablets, NFC
door locks and so on.

The wearer can perform tasks such as
unlocking their phone, unlocking their front
door or sending their contact info, personal

5. 4. iPhone Most Social Device, Claims New
Study From ShareThis

desktop web, and among mobile devices,
the iPhone is the most social.

These are the new findings from Palo
Alto-based publisher platform ShareThis,
which released data from a large study of
social behavior across both desktop web
and mobile in order to determine which
platforms and devices saw — or spurred
— the most social sharing activity.

6. 5. Nokia Unveils Lumia 1020 Smartphone with
41-Megapixel Camera

7. 6. Hackers Can Take Over Cars and Drive Them
With a Nintendo Controller

A pair of security experts demonstrated to the
BBC that some ordinary models of cars can be
overridden despite whatever the driver is doing
behind the wheel using a laptop, some
software, and an old Nintendo Entertainment
System gamepad.

8. 7. Google Chromecast Brings Mobile Video
to the Big Screen

Google’s Chromecast is Google’s next foray into the
television market.
•
In brief, it’s a $35 HDMI dongle that mirrors content
being played nearby on a tablet, smartphone or
computer.

Importantly though, the mirrored content
isn’t beamed from your local device, but
is streamed from the cloud direct to the
dongle when you activate mirroring on a
Chromecast - compatible service like
YouTube.

9. 8. Navigo – the GPS watch that buzzes you
onto the right path
•
Pulling your phone out of your pocket to check your
route is a chore – designers are currently working with
Quirky to start manufacturing the Navigo a GPS watch
that will use smart vibrations to alert you to the direction
you need to go.
•
Once it’s up and running, it’ll combine basic watch
functions with GPS navigation, wirelessly syncing with
your smartphone.

10. 9. Ouya – The $99 Android game console

11. 10. Musical Poster Plays Drum Beats When
Touched

Print may seem like a declining medium, but Novalia is
trying to preserve the paper form by turning formerly static
objects into usable interfaces.

Their first venture into this territory is an interactive drum
kit poster.
•
Able to produce up to seven
different sounds, the team says you
could play along to your favorite
songs, or add your own beats to
existing ones.
•
Using printed touch technology, you
could have easy access to a sevenpiece drum kit — no sticks
necessary.
