Senior Designer / Special Projects Manager
Reporting to the VP of Store Planning, a project designer is responsible for managing the entire store
design process, including new build and remodeling Abercrombie & Fitch (adult stores) and
abercrombie (children’s store) stores. Promoted to Senior Designer, and responsible for the prototype
design and value engineering of a new concept store, Hollister Co. Projects located primarily in major
malls and select urban street locations, ranging in size from 4,000 to 14,000 square feet throughout the
United States. Responsibilities include budgeting and scheduling the complete store design process.
The design process includes the preparation of the conceptual layouts interfacing with the real estate,
legal and operations departments. Responsible for hiring, training and managing the surveyors,
architects, engineers and permit expeditors. The design process also includes managing the
construction documentation including the bidding process, landlord approval processes and building
department permitting processes. The designers also provide construction field support and make field
visits, write punch-lists and open stores with the operations department. As the senior designer for the
new concept, I was responsible for creating and maintaining the master construction drawing set and
teaming up with the purchasing department to develop fixture drawings and specifications.

Seas beach house with California influences. A
Spanish tile roof over hangs a front porch
entrance flanked by louvered wooden doors
opening onto a traditional black and white tiled
area representative of a terrace. There is an
aged look and feel in addition to a sense of “ old
school” quality, classic construction.

plans supporting the construction of Wendy’s restaurants, both company and franchised owned.
Ensured optimum utilization of each property, based on site location, property boundaries, future
expansion, traffic flow, etc. Provided guidance, direction and support to outside engineers, architects,
contractors, and the franchise community on projects relating to site plan development, architectural
development and design development. Provided support to the architectural, interior design, and
equipment layout teams. Developed various instructional/informational manuals for company wide
distribution. Was a key player in the design and implementation of the Tim Hortons/Wendy's
combination store as well as the Wendy's/Fuel-Convenience combination store projects. Utilized
Microstation and AutoCAD drafting software in addition to various other database and word processing
software. I was also a part of a beta testing group for a Lotus Notes initiative. This initiative coordinated
the development team (Engineering, Real Estate, and Legal) allowing everyone to use a common
database, Notes mail and even transfer files via the web. Wendy's has since rolled the project out
system wide with very positive feedback
