structures. While you study Architecture, you get to study various fields
of human endeavor, including Art, History, Material Science, Physics,
Engineering…

How to get accepted for an
Architecture college
JEE MAIN Paper 2 for admissions to B.Arch/B.Planning courses at NITs,
IIITs, DTU and other CFTIs(Centrally Funded Technical Institutions).
(ONLY SCIENCE STUDENTS ELIGIBLE) 2017
The merit list of JEE MAIN will be prepared by giving:
•40% weightage to class XII(other equivalent examination)
•60% to the performance in JEE (Main) Examination
The Paper 2 for admissions to B.Arch/B.Planning courses will have one
Question Paper consisting of
•Mathematics
•Aptitude Test
•Drawing Test
The duration of the paper will be 3 (Three) Hours.

NATA- NATIONAL APTITUDE TEST IN ARCHITECTURE Candidate can also appear for
NATA to get into Architecture colleges. (BOTH SCIENCE & COMMERCE STUDENTS ARE
ELIGIBLE)
•The following shall be the weightage :Architectural Aptitude – 50% (Maximum)
Qualifying Examination – 50% (Maximum)i.e. 10+2 OR 10+3 years Diploma
recognized by the Central / State governments OR IB Diploma and/ or other test.
•Note : In order to pass the Architectural Aptitude Test, a candidate must obtain a
minimum of 35% marks.
•The test consists of 2 papers(i) Test - I – Aesthetic Sensitivity - 100 marks - duration of
test: One hour.(ii) Test - II – Drawing - 100 marks - duration of test: Two hours.

of a room or building.

Interior Designer implies that there is more of an emphasis on
Planning, Functional design and effective use of space involved
in this profession, as compared to interior decorating. An
interior designer can undertake projects that include arranging
the basic layout of spaces within a building as well as projects
that require an understanding of technical issues such as
acoustics, lighting, temperature, etc. Although an interior
designer may create the layout of a space, they may not alter
load-bearing walls without having their designs stamped for
approval by an architect. Interior Designers often work directly
with architectural firms.
