This paper presents an analytical model of a half-bridge series resonant inverter topology that is aimed at improving the design, control, and efficiency of resonant power converters. The model provides closed-form expressions of the main converter waveforms, output power, and efficiency, enabling fast design-space exploration and advanced control techniques to significantly improve converter operation. The analytical expressions were applied and verified in a half-bridge series resonant inverter for induction heating applications, proving the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed model.
