The document discusses targeting an audience for a thriller/action film. It aims to attract an educated adult audience between 18-50 years old, primarily male. The film establishes intrigue through shots of the emotionless protagonist receiving instructions through an earpiece, building tension as he stalks his target with a gun. By ending with the unexpected suicide of the protagonist, it leaves the audience with more questions, appealing to the intended educated, older viewers.
1. EVALUATION TASK 5 The target audience we are aiming our product at is between 18-50 years old, an adult, educated audience would probably go to see the movie. I reckon, that we would have a mostly male audience, because it's a thriller/action film. How did you attract/address your audience?
2. We see different shots from different angles of him and what he is looking at, which tells us about his target. He is emotionless and we are not sure what is going through his head. The first two screen shot concentrate on his face and we can see that he has got an ear piece in his ear. In our thriller there is a voiceover talking to him, what makes the thriller again psychological and we by then know that it is a conspiracy or assassination.
3. At the beginning the audience is immediately being introduced to a gun and we then know what is about to happen. We then see two people walking out of a house. We don’t know who is going to be shot, but we can tell that there will be at least one victim. Then there is the moment, when the guy with the gun, is walking toward the car. It builds up suspense and tension and the audience knows, that he is going to kill the man.
4. As we see in this screen shot, the thriller is very psychological and weird, which could immediately address to a male audience.
5. By the end of the title sequence, he shoots himself, after having shot someone else. It is unexpected and the audience is left with more questions than answers, which would hopefully appeal to the educated, older audience we envisaged.
