2. History
• Launched February 4th, 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg,
Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes, & Dustin
Moskovitz
• Originally called thefacebook.com and was
initially exclusive to Harvard students only.
• In March 2004 Facebook expanded to Stanford,
Columbia, and Yale.
• By December 2005, Facebook had 2000+ colleges
& universities and 25,000+ high schools and
ultimately expanded its userbase to include non-
students.

5. Advertising:
• Google Adwords campaign
A Google Adwords campaign should be put in place
driving more traffic to the site. The object should be
to reach consumers who are not already
familiarized with the service.
• Television commercial campaign
Just as Apple and Microsoft have used television as
a medium, Facebook should follow. Commercials
should be used to highlight the benefits of the
service.
6. Mobile Applications
• Facebook Mobile: 100,000,000 and growing.
• Currently, no way of advertising with the
mobile application. Advertising on the mobile
application is of utmost importance and will
greatly increase revenue streams.
• A better interface will see more users on the
application for longer durations of time.
7. Facebook Contests/Games
• In the past, contests have been a very successful
promotional tool for businesses. They also have
been shown to create more user retention giving
the user an incentive to keep returning to the
site.
• Facebook Games including Farmville, Restaurant
City, etc. have had massive success in user
retention. We look to further this by creating
bigger and better games to follow this path.

Projections:
• 1% growth in user-base yearly over a 3 year period.
• 5% increase in advertisement revenue yearly over a 3
